I have a Curve 3G from Verizon that has a Maps application which works with the GPS. I accidently moved the pointer just before setting the "My Location" in Maps. How do I change this?

I tried one of the application where you can find someone near your area/place. its shows on that specific run application that I am on the other side of the world. that application will only follow the current address of my mobile! im having a hard time of finding that and change it to my current location.

Apps that rely on finding your loaction will not work because BBMaps cannot find my location so i would like to change the default to Google maps but it doesnt appear in the drop-down list.

I recently bought Nokia 5800XM and I have small problem. When I try to use Ovi maps and select My location it points me out to some place in London. First of all I thought its a problem with the GPS so I installed Google maps to check. The result was - Google maps application properly found my exact location(Sofia, Bulgaria, even the street was correct).Then I tried to remove all the maps and voice guidance files from my phone and installed ONLY the Bulgaria map and Bulgarian voice guidance file. However when I selected "My location" the GB(London) map was downloaded and the again I was pointed to some random location in London...
My phone software is updated to 50.0.005 and my Ovi Maps version is 3.04(updated today). Only Assisted GPS and Integrated GPS are enabled in App>Location>Positioning>Positioning Methods. I use the WAP services(HSDPA) provided by my operator(Mtel BG) to connect to internet.Is this some kind of hardware problem(in other words should I return my phone to the vendor) ? Or Ovi Maps are still in beta(or alpha) stage and can't be used for proper navigation ?
I can't get places or maps to find my location.
I've turned it on it the advanced options and still it sends a message that "your location is temporaryily unavailable' and on BB maps, it just sits trying to find satillites.
It just works sometimes. In the most of the time in the most places the Maps cannot determine current location. if the compass show the latitude and longitude Is it because Beidou GPS run by Chlna government blocks iPhone or what?

Internet option is offline as I have downloaded the map. Do I need to to make it online to A-GPS work?
Open the Maps application on N96, then select "Options" -> "My position", the application will show a Red Circle on the Map to indicate the current position, and the position is correct, but when I walk to another street, then select again "Options" -> "My position", found that the Red Circle is still on the previous street. What is the problem? Why Maps can't show "My second position" correctly?

The dot representing me on the maps will vanish, and if I press the locate button again, it will pop somewhere else within a couple of miles of me, and then realize that isn't right, and not change the circle locator button to green, or show a dot on the screen. I can press the locate button again and have this happen continuously.When using Nokia Drive Beta, it will use my correct location to plot a course, but then not follow me at all, so it constantly displays the first direction. It, too, seems to have no clue where I am.My commute takes me through country, city, and suburbs. I've tried placing the phone on the dash, in the cupholder, and just holding it. View 5 Replies View RelatedI have a home automation system that uses my phone's location to identify if I am home. But the problem is when I start using my ps4 (and when it is standby). My phone thinks I am about a block away, it always returns to my actual location, but ever 10-20 minutes it jumps back to that wrong location. This issue only comes up when my PS4 is plugged in and on or in standby. This is causing the home system to think i went away for a couple of minutes, arming my home.Â

I was using Google maps today and its showing my location 5 km from my home when I'm sitting at home! I've tried hi accuracy mode in the settings, wiped the cache, ininstalled maps. All without success. Even Google earth is reporting the wrong location. what I can do to resolve it? Factory reset? How good a job does the restore feature on the pc version of smart switch do at restoring the phone?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI was trying to get this new Facebook Places working and did something that seemed to work for a few 8520 users - Update the OS through the Desktop Software. I updated to the latest one and when I go Options > Advanced Options > Location Settings (It used to be GPS Settings or something similar, not Location Settings) I used to get GPS none and be able to switch my Location Services off and on. Since updating, I only get GPS none and Location Services off, no option to change either.
BB Maps used to find my location fine, Foursquare was good at finding very nearby locations so it must work using something other than GPS. I've updated everything only to try and get bloody FB Places working and it's not even worth it, I can't even use BB Maps now!I've tried re-installing maps and Foursquare but neither can find my location anymore so I believe it was something to do with the update.
