BB Curve :: BBM Recent Updates Disappeared?
Feb 21, 2012I have a Curve 9300 and the Recent Updates box disappeared...I have done a restart and removed the battery, but it hasn't come back. Is there any way to reactivate it?

Jan 7, 2010i recently updated my phone to os 5.411 and got the new bb messenger .57. i noticed the other day that the "recent Updates" section has gone and i cant get it back. i have checked the majority of options and uninstalled and reinstalled but nothing can brings it back.

Jan 25, 2012After doing recent updates, the normal swipe-to-unlock feature of my Bionic stopped working. When I press the power button, I'm taken right to the home screen; I don't have to unlock. Even if I use Settings -> Location & Security and add a PIN or pattern lock, these do not work; each time I turn the phone back on, I go right back to the home. Sometimes the swipe screen flashes up but then disappears. The "Security lock timer" setting does not matter (i.e. it is set to 1 minute, but even after that, the phone is never locked. Occurs even after a hard reboot (shutdown, remove battery, power back up), although sometimes the swipe to unlock works for a short time. I've never rooted this phone or done much else beside install some apps from the Android Market. I do have Lookout running.

Jun 4, 2012I was recently roaming on my iphone 4, and was replying to a text when i saw the name at the top change to a number?
A little later i tried to retrive a telephone number and the person that i was looking for was no longer there? Upon futher checking i found that a number of recently added numbers (back about 3 to 4 months) had also disapeared?
I thought that it may have been something to do with roaming in another country, but back home now and contact have still not returned.
About the same time back as above, i added a gmail (New job) account, and on checking in gmail i have found that the telephone numbers are also missing from my contact details within my gmail account, of the contacts that i set up since starting this account?
Icloud is turned on and when i checked my hotmail account the contact information is stored there?

Apr 14, 2010I have a problem with my recent calls or rather the call log (sorry, but since English is not my mother language I might mix up the terms but let me explain)When I push the green phone button in the main menu I am used to finding a menu where i can see who I last called, who called me and so on. Little green and blue phone symbols next to the names indicate whether a call was incoming or outgoing.This menu does not work somehow. When I press the green button I get some kind of list, which looks pretty much like the one I just described and which always used to be there, but the phone icons and the timestamps are missing! So I cannot see, whether any given call was incoming or outgoing and what time the call was made.Is there any way to fix this?Can I somehow "reassign" the green phone button to my call log? Any help is greatly appreciated!

I click on the "upgrade" button, it says please wait, then nothing. It does the same for the app world update. I've spoken to my carrier and they say it's something on rim's side that they can't fix. I have tried the desktop software about a million times, it keeps saying no updates available. I've tried using the app loader. Nothing. I've tried downloading the specific 5.0 software for AT&T BB Curve 8520. App loader says it is incompatible with the device.
I have tried following this: How to Install or Upgrade to a New RIM BlackBerry Operating System (OS) with AppLoader | CrackBerry.com .Still did not help.
I have also tried doing it OTA style. The damn thing says there's no updates available on this either.I've been reading through just about every OS 5 thread I could get my hands on and nothing has made this process work.

Jul 20, 2010how is the Curve 8530 in terms of longevity? I recently got the pearl flip 8230, and, well, as everyone knows, or maybe no one knows, this is kind of the redheaded step child of the devices, and is no longer seeming to be supported by RIM and the OS updates, as it has not seen the OS 5.0 update that it is said to supposed to have. I am looking at moving carriers and therefore moving phones also. The pearl flip was my first blackberry, and I really do like the Blackberry/RIM devices, but do not want another red headed step child device that will be forgotten within a day of my purchase. So my question is, does anyone see the 8530 still being supported by RIM in the future? Or do you think that the 8530 has run its course and seen it's last real OS update?

Mar 26, 2011With device 'on' and connected to my PC by USB, I have repeatedly tried the website update button over the last week. Nine times out of ten, the instant I click produces 'Error on page' at screen bottom and repeat clicking gets me nowhere. Once in ten tries, a progress bar opens at screen bottom. It usually takes 30 minutes to reach 50% and by 45 minutes, there has been no further progress and 'Error on page' is displayed. I have the BB Desktop Manager software installed on the PC.

Mar 22, 2011My GPS worked perfectly until today.I have checked in the 'Loction Settings' under 'Advanced Options' and my 'Latitude', 'Longitude' etc are all set to '0'
Location Services is set to 'Location On'
Location Data is set to 'Enabled'
When i chose Refresh GPS from the Menu it says 'GPS Location Update failed'
I have tried pulling out the battery for a few minutes whilst the phone is on and whilst the phone is off.I have changed the Location Services to: Location Off and Location Data to: Disabled. Then saved and then pulled the battery. But nothing changed.
