BB Curve :: 9300 Cursor Jumps All Over The Place When Typing Message?
Mar 10, 2011
Any solution for the erratic BB Curve 9300 cursor which jumps all over the place when trying to type messages? I've had to make countless attempts to put in my password to unlock my phone which is password protected simply because the cursor won't stay put.
I have a blackberry curve 9300 and the cursor does not work at all when I use it with my bare fingers. it does work perfectly if I put a handkerchief over my finger and touch it with the material.
My 9300 cursor is erratic and does not stop still. It keeps jumping tp the top of the screen when i try to go to an item. If I try to text something its almost impossible as the cursor moves all over the screen. The phone is about 10 months old and has not been dropped recently. Ive reduced the sensitivity on the trackpad but this has had no affect whatsoever.
My BB Curve 9300 was doing okay until last night when it started to act weird. At first I thought I was imagining it but then the cursor kept on moving upwards whenever i move the trackpad. This happens intermittently. I have also noticed earlier that when I went out of my house and used it with the wind blowing and the sun glaring, it moved by itself and keeps on going upwards.
My cursor / text enter point continually "jumps" to random spots in the text I am typing for no apparent reason since the downgrade to Webtop 3.0. I have been told that I must be hitting the touchpad BUT I AM NOT. I have read that using a bluetooth mouse might help, but then I cannot use the lapdock on my lap!
I have one problem though. I noticed today when I was chatting with one of my contacts in BB messenger, I was not seeing what I was typing in the message bar. Only when I pressed send did I actually see the message. This only happened today and with this contact only.
I am currently on my 2nd X6 after the first one had a fault which made the cursor move by itself when composing a message (I always hold it at the regular portrait angle). It would also do the same with the delete button, sometimes I would press delete once, for example on a spelling error and the X6 would just carry on deleting, wiping out all of my message. So I have a new one and exactly the same is happening! The cursor flys around the screen, usually in the backwards direction, making a 30 second message turn into a 5 minute long nightmare. Im on o2, it is the 16 Gb model. Anyone know why it is doing this? I have taken the screen film off as I though that maybe that was interfering with the touch sensitivity, but it seems to be an internal error. It is infuriating losing a message, especially when I am on the move and can't use 2 hands to wrestle with this HAL-like behaviour The very fact I have had to sign in to this forum sums up how poor Nokia devices are.
I got my new X6 on Thursday and so far Im more or less happy, I'm just getting a bit frustrated with the texting as quite often I can be in the middle of a text when the cursor just takes me back to the beginning of the message and I can't stop it or even worse it just starts deleting my message letter by letter?
On bbm I keep getting an incoming bbm instant message alert/sound while im typing a message. The alert/sound only appears for incoming bbm messages when I'm typing on bbm. the alert/sound is different than the sound that I set on the profile menu and the volume is much bigger. Can I deactivate this alert/sound?
I know that maybe it is an old question, but I continue to receive each 15 minutes RIM NETWORK MESSAGES and I am not able to stop them.I read that is was related to Blackberry desktop SOftware, but I disinstalled and reinstalled it with no success.
I have chosen English for the main language and Greek for typing language, but I cannot read sent or received SMS although they are sent and read properly by the recipients. When I turn typung language into English I can read the messages but still with problems...in that case I have to change language each time i m writing a message. That seems to be a problem.Does anybody knows anything about that?
I recently updated my Curve 9300 to the 6.6.0.207 OS and since then whenever I recieve a text message and I click to open it up it will open my previous text message, and it will do this multipul times, however it doesn't seem to do this every time, it appears to be when I haven't replied to the previous message (But even then that's not always the case)Any ideas why this is happening?
iv got a blackberry 9300 of my mate was working fine for months until it stop receiving message and calls but the 3G comes up and the signal full and my sim card comes up t-mobile as the network i dont no what to do?
I am having a problem with message on lock screen not showing. I already went into options -> users -> and filled in everything but it never shows up when I lock my device. What should I do? How do I get it to display text on lock, like my old 8520 curve?
I have a blackberry curve 9300, and I love it excpet I'm having problems with text message notifiers. Usually, when you have a new text message, a yellow envelope pops up along with how many text messages you have. Well mine wont tell me how many text messages I have anymore, and it just randomly stopped working one day.
I have two friends who recently updated their BBMs on their 8520s to the latest version from App world. Whenever they try to read a message they get a short pause then their screens jump. ThOne has tried to downgrade to the previous version but when this was done the send file option disappeared.
I recently purchased a Curve 3G (9300) on the Three UK network and when I tried to text Facebook or Twitter to activate my number on it it come up with 'Short Message Transfer Rejected' [URL]
I switched SIMs on my 9300 the other day and I recieved a new text message on it which I read & deleted...I then put in my old SIM and the alert at the top of the screen (envelope with 1) that notifies you when you have a new message was still there!I have deleted all messages, emails, checked all folders, saved folders, rebooted (several hundred times!) yet the notification is still there.
My wife has a bb 9300 3g on os6 and everything has been fine. However somehow she has screwed up the wi-fi settings. The phone will not connect to our home router and displays the rror message " failed to obtain an IP address".I hve tried everything on the phone from
- Removing the wi-fi setting and reentering them. - Entering the details manually - Removing the battery and rebooting the phone - Reinstally the os over the computer
Nothing seems to work. I know the router is fine as I have the same phone and it connects ok along with several other devices.Has anyone any suggestions before I reset the phone to factory setting?
When I use my cursor/mouse it keeps shooting up to the top of the page. I have a curve 9330. I've tried taking out the battery and letting it reboot itself and it still keeps on doing this.
I'm having trackball problem with my 8900, Its trackball moves freely but the cursor doesn't moves at all. I have tried all known issues like 'hard restart &wipeout handheld" but it doesn't help at all.
and it desappears, it does not respond to the pointing wheel. Then, after a while, it reappears and it works.I am usign o.s. 7.1 and I never had this problem before, the cursor was always very responsive and fast. In addition to this, I notice the following:since some time, among the open applications there is alway the file viewer... and when I select it and push the wheel the cursor gets stucked as well.
for last two days the cursor is getting stuck either at the bottom or on the top of the main screen. and not moving at all. Making it totally unusable. Service Provider is Loop location Mumbai.
Whilst browsing the internet my "cursor" has suddenly stopped working. My "cursor" - the little black arrow - is still there but when hover over a search box for example and "click" my trackball nothing happens, similarly if the little hand symbol appears on a link if I "click" the trackball nothing happens. I've discovered I can press return when the hand appears and it goes to the link, but this is no use when only the arrow appears.
I just bought my blackberry 9320 and the cursor is moving all over the screen without me moving it. It makes me unable to text because every time I type a letter in the cursor scrolls all the way up the conversation. I can't click on any of the apps or icons as the cursor keeps moving! It is not due to track pad sensitivity or anything.
