Mar 7, 2010I'm a new and proud owner of a BlackBerry Curve 8900.I bought this used from a guy and I didn't realize this before til now. This phone is "permanently" password protected, meaning that I need to insert my password every single time I unlock my phone. I tried going to "Password" and disabling this option but there is a red lock beside the option and it won't let me choose Disable, only Enable. I went to TMobile and asked them but they said it's programed into the phone and told me to go back to the guy that sold me this.
I don't keep in contact with the guy who sold me this anymore.Is there ANY WAY to disable this?

Apr 26, 2010so i just downloaded berrybuzz trail from a ota because appworld doesnt work in my country and i downloaded the playboy irish animated theme and i did a reboot because it said some stuff might nto work untill it does so i did but now it wont let me unlock it :s i can c that the alt keyt and caps work cause when i clcik them it shows that symbole at the top right but i press the unlock bottom nothing try to type my pass nothing doesnt even say pop up the box that says emergency call unlock etc. i also just upgraded to the newest offical OS

Feb 15, 2010The phone charges, boots up, Pin is recognized by DM.However, when i turn the phone on, the screen lights up and it prompts me to enter the device password. I am able to scroll up and down through the three options (Unlock, Emergency, Cancel) but i am unable to click down on any of them. Once the screen dies down back to sleep mode it doesn't light up anymore no matter what i press.I've reinstalled the default software 4.6 but that didn't help.
What's wrong and how can i solve it?
BB Curve 8900 :: Password And Firewall Dont Give The Option To Disable
Jan 27, 2010The first one i did went well with no problems , used 3rd party software for linking in with exchange.
the second one now thats a different story. the first one is new the second is second hand and the password and firewall is locked (small red padlock). i have tried to back step the rim and i am now reinstalling the rim from o2 but the divice is still locked. please please could some one in here point me in the correct location of a fix. password and firewall dont give you the option to disable. well lost now.
BB Curve 8900 :: BIS Validate Password Nightmare! (Not MSN / Hotmail / Windows Live)
May 15, 2010i set up emails on my Blackberry Curve 8900 about a month ago (via BIS) and they've been working fine since then - until yesterday. Yesterday I got an email saying: "Action required:update password!" - there was then some info asking me to go to the BIS page and validate my password before I can receive emails again.
I keep doing this and it keeps saying it has been validated (I am absolutely certain it is the correct password) - but then 1 minute later I get the same email again saying I ned to validate my password. I click the email icon in setup and it's gone back to needing to be validate again?!
It's my work email address accessed via BIS. Has anyone got any ideas?? (I've treied searching on here but the posts I've found are all talking about a problem with Hotmail / Live / MSN - which this isn't about)

May 10, 2010I have an older Curve, and recently changed my gmail password. For the first time I can remember, the phone needs me to enter the Key Store password. (T-Mobile has a security certificate with some issue, and I need to tell the phone, "Trust Certificate".)
I don't think I've ever dealt with Key Store password before. My PIN doesn't work. I have never enabled the phone's Password, never set the password.
Searches here in support plus reading the User's manual for this model 8320 tells me lots of info about the Key Store - including, I might have to reset the phone (and lose lots of data) - however no where have I determined, how was this password initially set? When I reset the phone, how do I even find out what the new password is? Is this something RIM sets, or T-Mobile sets, or do I set it? (Yes I see that I can change it - but only if I know what the existing password is.)

However whenever I check for updates via the blackberry site the desktop manger pops up and does not offer this upgrade. All it says it 4.6.1 (current) and the rest are downgrades, so I'm not quite sure what I need to do to get the new OS to even appear, much less download it and work.
