BB Curve 8900 :: Unable To Change How Contacts Appear On Screen?
Mar 16, 2010
Ive just got a 8900 & Id like to change how I view the contact list - at the moment I just get the name of contact come up but Id like to view the number too.It say's by going into 'Language' option I can alter this, but I dont have that option on my Blackberry, any ideas as to how I can do this. Many thanks.
I recently purchased a blackberry 8900 and am trying to upgrade the software to the newest version (5.0 I assume). However whenever I check for updates via the blackberry site the desktop manger pops up and does not offer this upgrade. All it says it 4.6.1 (current) and the rest are downgrades, so I'm not quite sure what I need to do to get the new OS to even appear, much less download it and work.
I am not able to add any new contacts on my BB curver 8900. It started this problem since two weeks. I tried removing the battery and all but still the issues is not solved. Also i think the phone got little slow.My BB Pin is 21921334.I am struggling now with my bb. i dont wanna loose it because i am so attached to my bb.I think there are only about 300contacts saved on the phone.
How do I change the font color in my bbm?I just recieved a few messages in different font colors, green and pink and so.How can I do that? The girl who sent me the messages won't tell me.Do anyone know how to do that?
I am new to the BB...and I was playing around with it the other day and I changed a setting and I can't figure out how I did it...and now I have to change it back!I need to make the setting in my "Normal profile so that it doesnt' automatically go to vibrate in the holster.I can't find where I changed it!
I've recently updated the os on my bb. Since doing so, my sms now displayed like the bbm is displayed, which is causing me to send more texts! Is there anyway I can change the display to the standard SMS display?
I thought somewhere on this forum I saw something on this forum about this trackball but I don't remember how I found it. I apologize in advanced if this is a question that was asked before, but is there a light behind the trackball for this phone? I'm thinking of maybe changing the trackball color.
I have got a 8900, in India and am using the data plan to monitor my personal emails.Problem is that 'contacts' shows *no contacts*.When i go into options of contacts to sim phone book, (Contacts> sim phone book) i can see about 25 contacts. I have tried to copy all contacts of sim phone book but it still doesnt show up in contacts ( Contacts> sim phone book> Copy all to contacts). When i click on this, a status bar goes to 100% in a second, but contacts still show *no contacts*
I have saved many contacts on this handset through call register and messages and hence when i go to (Contacts> options> contact lists>defauly) the number of entries shows 320. I have noticed it increases as and when i add new contacts.Still no contacts shown in 'contacts'. Hence have to dial each contacts number before making a call or search from call register. Can someone pls help me with this. Also meanwhile if anyone could help by letting me know how i can make my call register remember calls of say last 10 days or 100 last entries.
I have my partners old 8900 curve and have been using it fine for a year, except that his old contacts were saved on the phone and mine on the SIM. I decided to delete his old contacts so I could copy mine over, I found on the internet that you can use RSET in the contact menu to delete all contacts at once. It worked perfectly but now the Blackberry will not save any new contacts, at all, ever!
It won't copy them from the SIM and it won't even save a contact when entered manually. I don't use it for anything other than phone calls and emails, so it has no apps that I know of.Also I have no software on my laptop to back it up or update it etc, I really only use it to read emails and receive phone calls when i'm not in the office.
What would be the best way to add a large number of contacts to my curve? I need to add about 50-80 contacts and put them in a group as well. Would outlook still be the best way?
My wife just got an 8520, and would like to have the same contacts as I do on my 8900. What is the easiest way for me to transfer my contacts to her phone?
Earlier today I went to put some pictures of my Curve on to the computer so I plug it in etc. it then tells me I need to update the phone so I agree. It was taking a while to update and I had a bus to catch so against my better judgement I disconnected the phone and now I get the "App Error 205." So I ask what is the best way to fix this for a techno-noob and will I lose my contacts etc?
Ever since I got my T-Mo 8900 last September I have never really gotten the GPS to work quite right. When I use the maps or apps that use the GPS I never can get a connection, so I assume by default it locates me my cell towers (which always always points my locations incorrectly by a half mile or so). Is there something I am missing in the setup or options. Or is this just a result of crappy GPS capabilities on the 8900's part?
My friend lost his blackberry 8900. He canceled his contract with TMobile so the phone was SOS. The phone was insured but since the contract was canceled they won't honor it. Is there anyway he can retrieve his contacts in the Desktop Manager? He backed it up all of the time Is the contacts in a file on the computer that he can read? thanks in advance. I looked in the loader back up IPD files and all I see is a lot of jibberish. But no contacts.
I lost all of my contacts after i downloaded the 5.0 OS from the forums. How would i be able to get them back without having to manually add them back into my phonebook? I thought it would have automatically saved my numbers to my sim card.
How can I view my data in my bb?When I connect my bb to my PC via USB cable, it used to ask me to if I would like to view media storage or something.I think I said no and it doesnt allow me to view anymore. Can someone help me enable this again?
New & in need of help.September 09 purchased a Curve 8900 for my daughter (14yrs) carrier is T-Mobile.
She now wants to add a few apps from -> http://appworld.blackberry.com/webstore/topfree
Facebook:Quick Search with Google
Am I correct that she need to download "BlackBerry App World" first? Assuming that this IS the case I tried this but we get an error message stating her device is not compatible??
software is 4.2.0.127 if that helps any? Internet access is via the home network only, this works fine as far as we know.
I am unable to bridge my Smartphone Curve 8900 with Playbook.I have the updated OS in my mobile i.e v5.0.0.681 Platform 5.2.0.67.I have tried both manual pairing as well as Bar code. The error message which i get is " There was a problem setting up Bluetooth Connection with your playbook tablet.
I have an 8900 Curve, and have been using Wifi to connect to the internet, in my home and everywhere else I go. I'm in Mexico using Telcel. You don't need a plan just to connect to the internet, that's what WiFi is for. It just stopped connecting the other day for some reason. The wifi icon does not appear at the top. I have the browser set to HotSpot, it's the only option actually, I set the TCP/IP APN to the Mexican settings (you can do that here: http://www.blackberrytune.com/blackberry-tcp-ip-apn-settings/), but still nothing!WTF is wrong with this POS!
I have a BlackBerry Curve 8900. Off late, I am not able to open all mails on my device. Some open but many do not. I do not remember changing any settings on my device for the same. When I click the trackball to open, nothing happens and it hangs up. I use the back button then.
This week I left an employer to go to another one. I have not started with the new one yet. I have a personal BB Curve 8900 with work email and one personal email on it. This evening I got the email from the old employer IT dept that they had terminated the work email and BB BES service. Nearly simultaneously, I lost all my personal contacts (which were downloaded off my old flip phone when I got the BB, not from the employer), my personal email account, my calendar, and the memopad documents I had saved for the last 7 months. The phone also reset, removed my password, reset the ringtone, reset the bluetooth settings for my PLT510, and who knows what else. The only evidence that this was still my phone was that my pictures and .mp3s are still there. when an employer terminates blackberry service, is it possible for them to essentially wipe your blackberry clean without your knowledge or consent? If so, how can you set it so that doesn't happen again? If not, is it possible that it is just a huge, inconvenient coincidence, and my BB is experience a major technical difficulty?
i have a blackberry 8900. i also have tonnes of phone numbers that i either need to edit (delete or add email ids to) but i simpy cant type them in manually one by one i know in nokia, there syn application is such that u can make the changes in the nokia pc app and it automatically syncs up with the blackberry.i used the blackberry desktop software, but unfortunately i did not see this functionality a) how can i work around this ? is there any such functionality in BB desktop software? b) are there are 3rd party software available for this ?
