BB Curve 8900 :: Phones Battery Is Dying Faster Than Normal
Jan 30, 2010Out of nowhere today, my phones battery is dying faster than normal.I read the old posts about what to do, I close everything out by hitting menu..close, i erased all apps i never used, games i never used awhile ago and i never had a problem. I woke up this morning after charging it all night and had a full battery, i have only sent maybe 6 texts and had one BBM convo for 5 mins and closed it out after....i am doing a battery pull right now.any other suggestions? Maybe time for a new battery? Although I feel like this is still new.

Jun 29, 2012I recently upgraded from a Bold to a Bold 9900 and gave the old phone to my son, having first backed up all data, memos, addresses etc on the PC and erased everything from my old phone. When I restored my data on to my new phone a few days later it brought all his BBM chat contacts and messages (which he had loaded on to the Bold)on to my phone and wiped the corresponding entries from his phone.Clearly I copied and restored some ID wrongly, with the result that his BBM messages are being directed to my new phone.

Jul 29, 2011AT&T replaced my defective Curve 9300. I have already sent back the old phone but I did a backup right before doing so. I'd like to put the contacts from that backup onto the new Curve however the Switch Device Wizard won't do it without connecting the old phone. How do I get the contacts from that backup file onto my new device?

Aug 25, 2011I have my own blackberry which I use mainly as a phone. It has 671 contacts. I have downloaded latest PC software. My new curve is a company blackberry and I wish to transfer/copy my contact address and tele no to the new curve.
I've backup the 8310 so have the contacts on my PC. When I try to restore selected data it doesn't offer me the option to do the contacts saying that they are read only!

I now have a new BB (Curve 9300) from my new employers and need to transfer these Contacts from the IPD file to the new phone.

Jan 30, 2010My old SIM card died and I got a new one for my Curve 8310. I had the data plan taken off of the Curve in July 2008 and had been using it data-less ever since.Since I got my new sim card, I got texts saying that my BlackBerry Smartphone required a data plan and to call 611 to add a data plan.About 5 minutes later (I was at school), I got another text saying that AT&T automatically added a data plan to my account.
So today I called and got that data plan removed, requiring me to switch phones back to an old SE W580i.
My problem is that I need to copy 87 contacts to my sim card to use in my W580i. When I select a contact, hit the BlackBerry key and look for "Copy to SIM" I don't see anything like that. Nothing at all. The only thing I get relating to the SIM is "Sim Phone Book" which obviously has zero entries.Another problem is that even with the phone only being on for about 5 minutes, I start getting the texts that it's going to have a data plan added

Jul 10, 2010I have got a 8900, in India and am using the data plan to monitor my personal emails.Problem is that 'contacts' shows *no contacts*.When i go into options of contacts to sim phone book, (Contacts> sim phone book) i can see about 25 contacts. I have tried to copy all contacts of sim phone book but it still doesnt show up in contacts ( Contacts> sim phone book> Copy all to contacts). When i click on this, a status bar goes to 100% in a second, but contacts still show *no contacts*
I have saved many contacts on this handset through call register and messages and hence when i go to (Contacts> options> contact lists>defauly) the number of entries shows 320. I have noticed it increases as and when i add new contacts.Still no contacts shown in 'contacts'. Hence have to dial each contacts number before making a call or search from call register. Can someone pls help me with this. Also meanwhile if anyone could help by letting me know how i can make my call register remember calls of say last 10 days or 100 last entries.
BB Curve :: 8900 Won't Save New Contacts
Nov 1, 2012I have my partners old 8900 curve and have been using it fine for a year, except that his old contacts were saved on the phone and mine on the SIM. I decided to delete his old contacts so I could copy mine over, I found on the internet that you can use RSET in the contact menu to delete all contacts at once. It worked perfectly but now the Blackberry will not save any new contacts, at all, ever!
It won't copy them from the SIM and it won't even save a contact when entered manually. I don't use it for anything other than phone calls and emails, so it has no apps that I know of.Also I have no software on my laptop to back it up or update it etc, I really only use it to read emails and receive phone calls when i'm not in the office.

May 12, 2010Earlier today I went to put some pictures of my Curve on to the computer so I plug it in etc. it then tells me I need to update the phone so I agree. It was taking a while to update and I had a bus to catch so against my better judgement I disconnected the phone and now I get the "App Error 205." So I ask what is the best way to fix this for a techno-noob and will I lose my contacts etc?

Mar 11, 2010This week I left an employer to go to another one. I have not started with the new one yet. I have a personal BB Curve 8900 with work email and one personal email on it. This evening I got the email from the old employer IT dept that they had terminated the work email and BB BES service. Nearly simultaneously, I lost all my personal contacts (which were downloaded off my old flip phone when I got the BB, not from the employer), my personal email account, my calendar, and the memopad documents I had saved for the last 7 months. The phone also reset, removed my password, reset the ringtone, reset the bluetooth settings for my PLT510, and who knows what else. The only evidence that this was still my phone was that my pictures and .mp3s are still there. when an employer terminates blackberry service, is it possible for them to essentially wipe your blackberry clean without your knowledge or consent? If so, how can you set it so that doesn't happen again? If not, is it possible that it is just a huge, inconvenient coincidence, and my BB is experience a major technical difficulty?

May 18, 2010I have a bb curve 8300 from sprint and for 4 times in a row with two phones, i have an error message that pops up after taking out the battery. every time i get it the sprint store resets the phone and wipes all my contacts and calendar entries. this is getting very frustrating and making me want to get rid of my blackberry even though i like it a lot. once i get the error message is says resent under it and if you press it, it looks like its starting up again but then the error message comes up and that it. it just does it over and over again.

Jan 12, 2010email syncs fine, but calendar, contacts notes etc (in fact everything else) doesnt sync. as the exchange box is hosted, there is no way of putting BES on it. every other smart phone i have ever hooked up to this hosted exchange box works fine seems to be just the blackberry.
he has an exchange enabled outlook 2007 client on his PC looking at the same account. how can i get things to sync over the air (i dont want him to have to plug it in to the pc as this defeats the entire object of having an exchange solution).

May 22, 2010I had an 8310 and just bought an 8900 brand new off of eBay. I used the 8310's speakerphone A LOT for listening to music and loved it! I always took the back of the phone off too so that it wasn't coming through 2 little holes through the top. Is the sound quality and volume of the 8900 equal to or greater than the 8300 with its batter door off?
