Jun 29, 2011I installed my Facebook app found on the application world on the phone last ight. After it successfully installed the phone asked me to reboot. By doing so the phone went of, But does not come on agian. The red light flashes ans flashes and.. Anyway, then it goes on and of and on and of..I only had the phone for a couple of hours, after Vodacom gave me 1 back, because my prevoiuse one kept on taking green photos. That one i only had a week. i waited 3 weeks for the other one to arrive, and now this... is it just a BALCKBERRY RED CURVE giving this problems or what. Non of my friends has a red, and theirs are working PREFECT. 2nd unit had a sticker at the back - " REFURBISHED UNIT"?

May 13, 2011I recently purchased a Blackberry Curve 8520 and from day one I havent been able to access internet and send mms from my phone. How to install the correct settings for mms and also to browse internet (manually). I have rang my service provider and they stated I could not get the settings sent to my phone so they would email me the right settings so I could do it manually. Aug 5, 2010I have bought a new BB Curve 8520. On my desktop I have Windows 7, with Microsoft Outlook 2007. My e-mail is a Windows Live account through Office Live, which I believe is a web-based e-mail account. This means, in order for me to get e-mail in Outlook, I have to use the Microsoft OutlooIk Connector. When I go to sync using Desktop Manager, I first try and install ntellisync through the Wizard and I get a “successfully installed message, but when I click “OK” the error: "Folder is no longer part of system data source or the folder could not be found” appears and I am never able to sync successfully, either through the USB or wirelessly. I have uninstalled and re-installed the Desktop Manager many times. However, I am receiving the e-mails through to my BB. But if I'm unable to sync Calendar, Tasks or Contacts etc. with my Desktop, the BB is not a lot of help or benefit to me.

I used the BlackBerry Desktop Software and clicked the "Update my device" button in updating my BlackBerry Curve device software version. The process was started last Monday, November 15, 2010 but until now is not yet finish (Thursday, November 18, 2010). Is this normal? I cannot disconnect my device because it said that "During these steps, do not disconnect your device or interrupt this process as it could make your device unusable."

Aug 3, 2010Ever since I downloaded something like "Blackberry OS version 5" from the web, and updated my device using the desktop manager, I have been unable to download new apps.Somehow I managed to get BBM back on -- the phone would have been useless otherwise -- but no more apps will get downloaded.Everything seems to work, whether I download via the web, or use desktop manager to install the apps, there are no errors and it says it worked -- but there is no icon for the app in any of the folders.For example, BB App world: The desktop manager says it is installed, but it's not accessible because there is no icon anywhere.My carrier say they can't help me any further as it's a device issue.I have got "show all" on, so the icons are definitely not hidden.I have tried a battery pull dozens of times.I have tried a backup using desktop manager, then factory reset the device, then restored -- several times.I have tried uninstalling the apps through desktop manager and installing them again.I don't understand what settings are supposed to be changed after I do a factory reset and restore from backup.

BB Curve 8500 :: After Update Unable To Download Apps On 8520 Curve
Aug 21, 2010I recently received a message telling me that an update was available for App World. I downloaded the update, installed it and rebooted. Now I am unable to download apps. When I hit the download button it takes me to the sign in for BlackBerry ID, then to terms and conditions and then to my ID settings! The only way I can get off this screen is to press Discard, which takes me back to where I started! I just keep going round in circles.

Sep 20, 2010I'm getting slightly frustrated at my Curve 8520's complete inability to download any apps ?I go into the App world, select the app I want and click "download". It then asks me to enter in my blackberry ID which I do, it then takes me to my information [such as email, username] and gives me options to change my password and recovery question but nothing else. I can't go forward and if I go back I just start again with the download screen and go around in circles!I've uninstalled and reinstalled app world, I've updated the OS, I've tried sending the link from my laptop to the BB but nothing works and I'm getting a tad cranky.

When I go to appworld on my phone and try to run the upgrade, it says "facebook is not available for download from Blackberry App world"....Then I tried to upload it on my PC and I go to the appworld page and it asks me to connect it to my payoal account. I go through the steps and get the confirmaiton from paypal, but then go back to appwork and get the folowing "The PayPal email address you provided is not correct. Please log in with the email address(it lists my e-mail address)"......

It is not my data plan as I have topped up £10 and have my 300 texts and 100mb internet until Jan 27th 2012 until I have to top up again.My wifi says its connected as it is white but clearly does not work. Apr 13, 2011I have a Blackberry Curve 8520 which has been working normally for nearly a year now. Yesterday morning I found that most things were not working. I also found icons for 'music sync' and games on there that weren't there before, which I have since removed. I don't know whether this is related in any way.
My twitter app says 'Twitter services are currently unavailable', my facebook app says 'A connection cannot be established to the Facebook server', my browser says 'Unable to connect to the Internet, please try again later. If the problem persists please contact your service provider.' My BBM messages are not sending to others and when I try and send an email, the red X appears and the message status is 'Service blocked'.

May 21, 2010I recently bought my first Blackberry smartphone, The Blackberry Curve 8520. I was really impressed with the phone at such a cheap price since I am a teen, the 8520 is perfect for me. But I downloaded a few apps which I can use at home when theres wifi but i cannot use the Twitter, Facebook, UberTwitter apps when not at home (No wifi). Does anyone have the same problems? When i try to log in or connect without Wifi, It does not connect. And on Ubertwitter, The app keeps running but it doesnt connect to gprs/wap. Anyone have the same problems or know how to change the settings so that i can use the apps with GPRS/WAP Please give me your suggestions and/or solutions/help.

Feb 7, 2010I bought a 8520 last month and I am using the telephone with the italian language. By mistake I had cancelled some pre-installed apps like DocsToGo and I reinstalled them by ising Desktop Manager. At the same time I got the chance to cancel the languages I don't need. Since then I have problems with the date format: date format should be in the european standard (DD/MM) but it always appears in the US one (MM/DD). This happens only on the desktop, clock, and phone call list. Otherwise sms and calender are correct. I have 4 languages installed at the moment on the device (according to the language option list): Italian, English, English (UK), English (US) and German. With all those languages I have the problem with the date, only if I choose German it's correct. I have been advised to update the firmware, but unfortunately it didn't help.
I have also unistalled some third party programs but it also didn't help. Theme is the standard one and no new one has been installed. This is quite an annoying issue, even though it doesn't dramatically affect the usage of the phone. I did a backup before installing the DocsToGo apps.
