Jul 9, 2012Updated my phone to v5 and now it will not stay locked. Every time I lock and put phone in pouch it unlocks.

BB Curve :: 9360 Won't Stay Locked?
Jun 24, 2012I've had my BlackBerry for about a month and it's locked fine by pressing the little black lock button at the top until today. Today, I press the button to lock the phone, it locks for about 5 seconds and then unlocks itself. It's done it all day. Do you think the button is broken already?

Apr 30, 2011Am having a problem locking my screen with the screenlock.I put it on then in less than a minuet my screen is opened again.Is there something I could do other than send it back to my provider.When I've called someone or they me, I tend to put it on screenlock so other apps are not activated unlass needed.

Apr 17, 2011I have a BB Curve 8520. I just was searching the options page and then I believe I clicked the speed dial option. The lock keyboard option was 'a', and I clicked it and it locked the keyboard. I hadn't realized there was a lock for my keyboard (and had been searching for one). However, I can't get it unlocked. When I press the menu key, it pops up that 'keyboard is locked. Press the Mute button to unlock."
However, I don't know where the Mute button is, nor can I get it to unlock. My theme is precision zen (I believe) if that makes a difference.
how I can unlock my keyboard? how to successfully lock it in future? I guess I don't understand the speed dial aspect of the phone.

Feb 23, 2010I got a BB 8310 from my girlfriend. While tryin to update to simply sync my music to the phone, i decided to update the phone's software which has turned into a disaster! While updating, during the screen where it says "DO NOT UNPLUG", the faulty USB cable came out leaving the phone unfinished. Now all the phone does is blink with a red light. It does NOT come on at all. The screen remains black. When its plugged in to the computer now, it doesn't read its a BlackBerry. It says "USB device not recognized".
Now I know that during the installation the phone's system files where probably deleted. And not replaced. So what now? Is there something I can do to have the phone recognized by my computer? It was backed-up before the new installations took place, but does not help because the computer is not recognizing the phone. HELP PLEASE! I would hate to lose my new BlackBerry before I actually get to enjoy it.
BB Curve :: Keypad Locked, Not Accepting Password After Update?
Oct 18, 2012I have a BB 8530 on MetroPCS (CDMA) network. I saw thier was some updates for BB protect and a bunch of other apps so i updated them. After the reboot, it asked me for my keypad lock pass and upon entering it, it would not accept it. I know that what i am entering is correct as i entered it prior to the reboot.
i have tried diffrent variations of it with CAPs and symbols corresponding to the keys i KNOW are my pass but still no use. I am on 9/10.
I have logged in to my BB Protect online and tried to change the pass from thier but it keeps saying the current password is wrong which is impossible. Is there some deafult password it reverted to that i can try. I have tried everything.
BB Curve 8520/8530 :: How To Update OS Update To 5.0.0.411- UMA Works Properly
May 19, 2010I've upgraded from my original OS to 5.0.0.411 (i think) at the start of the year with no problems. Two days ago I attempted the upgrade to .681 which was fine, but I'm not keen on the update as the UMA isn't working properly, so I want to downgrade.
So last night I managed to get back to the original OS 4.? (I was having probs with a straight forward downgrade to another OS5) and tried to upgrade to the Vodafone Italy (I'm on Orange UK) but it wasn't being recognised with the Desktop Blackberry software (vendor file was deleted), although when I went into the upgrade part on the app loader, it did appear there, but with an asterisk saying I had to be registered with Blackberry to be eligible for the upgrade (or something like that). I attempted the upgrade but the software wouldn't allow it.
I removed that software and tried with the Wind release, but again the desk top software didn't recognise it.I tried the .681 release again and the upgrade worked fine
I would really like to go back to a stable OS where the UMA works. Any ideas how to do it with the Vodafone Italy release? Or am I being blocked somehow as I'm registered to Orange UK? If so does anyone have a link to download another earlier release that is stable and not carrier associated?
BB Curve 8500 :: After Update Unable To Download Apps On 8520 Curve
Aug 21, 2010I recently received a message telling me that an update was available for App World. I downloaded the update, installed it and rebooted. Now I am unable to download apps. When I hit the download button it takes me to the sign in for BlackBerry ID, then to terms and conditions and then to my ID settings! The only way I can get off this screen is to press Discard, which takes me back to where I started! I just keep going round in circles.

Sep 18, 2010Got a Curve 8520 and since updating yesterday, the frame rate when recording video has dropped significantly meaning jerky/jumpy video. It may be worth adding that even when in video camera mode but NOT recording the feed is still jumpy. I can see the difference by watching video I recorded before the update and also by comparing to my wifes phone (exactly the same as mine) which has not had the update yet.

When the Application Loader launches, it only provides me with the option of maintaining my OS and downgrading my OS to the older 4.6.1 version. Oct 14, 2011i bought the phone unlocked from Ebay, so it came with OS 4.6. i decided to upgrade to OS 5. I have Tmobile, as well as the Blackberry internet service. I downloaded blackberry desktop manager 6, and it prompted me to install OS 5. However, here is the problem: The software downloads. It runs perfectly fine for a day or two, and then BAM the phone just starts rebooting itself constantly out of nowhere! I did all these steps.
1) Downloaded 8520wifiM_PBr5.0.0_rel860_PL5.2.0.47_A5.0.0.509_Wind_Hellas
2)Deleted "vendor.xml"
3)And executed LOADER.EXE

Feb 13, 2012I've been trying to update my blackberry to OS 5 since I got it in august last year and it just isn't happening. My service provider is T-mobile and there is no wireless update available, and when I try to update it through desktop manager it gets to a certain point, connecting to boot ROM (I think it is) and it switches the phone off and I get a message come up on my screen about changing the power management settings on my laptop USB's then retry, I have tried this many times and it hasn't worked at all.
