I just updated my blackberry, and now when I try to turn it on, its black with a some-what slow bar filling with white, then the at&t load screen and sits there. i have tried to do the soft reset of Caps Alt and Delete, but no luck.
This phone made an update on the Facebook Messenger and asked if i would reboot. After accepting the reboot the device freezes at the startup (The white bar reaches approx. 60% and freezes) i kept removing the battery but i keeps on freezing...
phone displaying reet screen when turned on went to link to download desktop software attempting to reinstall OS 6 but progress freezes at 498 of 542 files read in another post that even though unpulgging/plugging back in phone and restarting process is not recommended it generally will fix the issue but if not blackberry can help with restoring the phone tried this and still freezes at 498?
I've had my 8530 for a little over a month, every once in awhile after I end a call the screen goes blank but when I use the track pad the screen comes back in sections. After I use the track pad to scroll upper left then upper right the bottom right and bottom left the screen is normal. Has anyone else had this issue?
Does anyone know when the OFFICIAL 5.0 update for tmobile comes out, i see the leaked versions online but I don't want to risk it. Right now I'm running. 4.6.1.259.
THIS UPDATE IS SHOCKING! What were blackberry thinking? Does anybody know how i can get back to my old version? I mean you cant even lock your keypad with this update, thats how bad it is! Any help would be much appreciated.
I've upgraded from my original OS to 5.0.0.411 (i think) at the start of the year with no problems. Two days ago I attempted the upgrade to .681 which was fine, but I'm not keen on the update as the UMA isn't working properly, so I want to downgrade.
So last night I managed to get back to the original OS 4.? (I was having probs with a straight forward downgrade to another OS5) and tried to upgrade to the Vodafone Italy (I'm on Orange UK) but it wasn't being recognised with the Desktop Blackberry software (vendor file was deleted), although when I went into the upgrade part on the app loader, it did appear there, but with an asterisk saying I had to be registered with Blackberry to be eligible for the upgrade (or something like that). I attempted the upgrade but the software wouldn't allow it.
I removed that software and tried with the Wind release, but again the desk top software didn't recognise it.I tried the .681 release again and the upgrade worked fine
I would really like to go back to a stable OS where the UMA works. Any ideas how to do it with the Vodafone Italy release? Or am I being blocked somehow as I'm registered to Orange UK? If so does anyone have a link to download another earlier release that is stable and not carrier associated?
I recently received a message telling me that an update was available for App World. I downloaded the update, installed it and rebooted. Now I am unable to download apps. When I hit the download button it takes me to the sign in for BlackBerry ID, then to terms and conditions and then to my ID settings! The only way I can get off this screen is to press Discard, which takes me back to where I started! I just keep going round in circles.
I had to do a software update this morning for my phone so I did this and in the process it got to the screen that says:
Overall restore Progress: 1%
Current Database: BBGrouops 69%
Elapsed Time: 28:55
It has been stuck here all day! I called Fido earlier and asked them what to do and they told me to connect to my computer, I have done that and have tried everything and the problem still exists.
Got a Curve 8520 and since updating yesterday, the frame rate when recording video has dropped significantly meaning jerky/jumpy video. It may be worth adding that even when in video camera mode but NOT recording the feed is still jumpy. I can see the difference by watching video I recorded before the update and also by comparing to my wifes phone (exactly the same as mine) which has not had the update yet.
I tried updating from the blackberry website. When the Application Loader launches, it only provides me with the option of maintaining my OS and downgrading my OS to the older 4.6.1 version. I have previously used the exact same steps on another Curve 8520 and I had successfully upgraded the OS. After the upgrade was successful on the first phone, only did I try upgrading the second phone. Is there anything I did wrongly the second time around?
I connected my new i-phone 4 to my laptop, to save the photos that I've taken with it, and it prompted for an i-tunes update. When it was all over, it was frozen, and the only option I was offered was 'Restore', which came with a warning that I would lose all data if I chose to restore to factory settings...
ITunes also recognizes the phone but the logo and progress bar still remain. I have tried holding the sleep and home button and it will restart but immediatly goes back to the logo and progress bar.
I have an iPhone 4s and an iPad 2. Updated both to 5.1.1. Now iTunes on the phone freezes. Tried restart, killed all other apps but no effect. iPad 2 is working normally.
i bought the phone unlocked from Ebay, so it came with OS 4.6. i decided to upgrade to OS 5. I have Tmobile, as well as the Blackberry internet service. I downloaded blackberry desktop manager 6, and it prompted me to install OS 5. However, here is the problem: The software downloads. It runs perfectly fine for a day or two, and then BAM the phone just starts rebooting itself constantly out of nowhere! Then I have to redo the entire process all over again! how do i get the software downloaded to my phone without it rebooting after like 2 days?
every time i try to update to os5 it says... there was a error updating software

My desktop BB says a software update is available. However when I try, I get a message saying please wait, searching for update, so I wait, and wait, and still wait but nothing happens!
I want to upgrade my facebook settings but I can't upgrade it. It requires OS 5.0. I tried it on my blackberry desktop software ( I use the current software). I check for updates, OS 5.2.0.67 (recommended) and I checked installed. It says This BlackBerry Device Software upgrade includes new features and significant enhancements to the BlackBerry solution and, as such, is only available to users with an active BlackBerry subscription. I've been trying to update my blackberry to OS 5 since I got it in august last year and it just isn't happening. My service provider is T-mobile and there is no wireless update available, and when I try to update it through desktop manager it gets to a certain point, connecting to boot ROM (I think it is) and it switches the phone off and I get a message come up on my screen about changing the power management settings on my laptop USB's then retry, I have tried this many times and it hasn't worked at all.
I attemepted a OTA software update on my 9930. Yeah yeah yeah i know i'm a moron and shouldve done a wired update. Problem is the update is froze on 14% (has been for over 6 hours). Tried battery pulls, plugging it into my laptop, looked all over the place online. I'm not able to cancel the update. I've got a back up from a few months ago on my computer so i'm not even worried about wiping out the phone but i cant even figure out how to do that!
I was attempting to run the 7.1 OS update on my bold 9930; my phone now keeps freezing on the "backing up your data" screen. i've done 2 battery pull with no success...
i have already downloaded the software update; im just having trouble installing it
When I try to update my software by desktop software after back up it give an error please check your internet setting and try back again. I tried to do from different places but everywhere it shows same error. My handset is locked with Airtel. I have downloaded OS5 on my desktop.
Did a BB protect update, but now my 8520 curve will not come on or do anything its just dead? When i take out the battery and put it back in the phone all it does is the red led light shines for about 20 seconds and then the phone is just dead<
So, I went to update my Blackberry curve 8520 and it froze. I followed the instructions that came up on the screen and now it has wiped everything from my phone ie contacts, photos, music etc...it won't reboot or anything!
I have just updated my Blackberry Curve 8520 to version 5.0. It required me to reboot the blackberry so I did and now that it has loaded up I get a message saying 'To start using your Blackberry (R) smartphone, you will need to confirm the languages that you use.' and a highlighted button saying 'Continue'. Thing is, I can't press any buttons or scroll through writing or anything. No buttons, though I can use 'alt' and 'caps. There doesn't seem to be a signal either. I take the battery out and put it back in but when the Blackberry loads up again the same screen comes up. I know it has updated because the loading screen is different.
