I recently updated this phone with the 5.0 version via desktop. Installation was successful, kind of. Sending and receiving text, internet, media, etc. all work fine. But whenever I make a call this phone goes off, the little red light blinks and then blackberry logo appears above a loading/buffering bar. Before the update placing calls went on without a hitch.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am using BB 8520 Curve with the default external memory (2 Gb). I have music files (*.mp3, *.wma) as well as picture files (captured through the device itself).What happens is, from time to time I am unable to access the media card content. If I go to music, I can see the entries if I go to any of the menu filters, All Songs/Artists/Albums/Genres .. etc. But when I click on the song itself, the music player opens with a message "This playlist contains no valid songs". Also, during this time, my device rings with the default tunes on a call, even if I have set custom profile ring tones.Similarly, if I go to Media->Pictures, I can see a thumbnail preview of the photos, however on trying to open a file it just presents me with a black screen. The contact picture or the desktop custom wallpaper, however is rendered as expected.If I reboot my device by taking off the battery, things get working again.I am experiencing this issue quite frequently, almost every day. I tried to find out a trend for the behaviour, however could not make any such consistent observations.Does anyone in the forum has faced similar issue? Any inputs would be highly appreciated. This is really being a disturbing trait with my otherwise so cool BB.

Then today I was on a call over Bluetooth in my car and it cut out (other person could hear me, I couldn't hear then them) but was not in a dead zone. I've done a sift reset and completely wiped the phone as well. No change.

So each time I want to make a call, I have to reset my whole phone. This just started happening today, and the phone is 2 days old. Any advice? I don't want to do a full restore because I "restored from backup" from my old iPhone. I don't want to lose all those things!

I took out the battery and sim card and waited for about a minute before putting them back in. It seemed to be working this time, but I just wanted to know what has happened to my phone. View 3 Replies View RelatedI've had my curve for a few months with no problems until tonight. I hadn't backed my phones info up for a couple of months so I thought I would do it earlier on today. I back everything up fine on my computer but the blackberry software crashed when it was trying to restore the info from my phone { I don't know why it was trying to restore everything cause I've never done that before.} so I tried to reinstall my backup onto my phone and it seemed to work. I switched my phone back on it was working, I tried to go onto facebook and I got "A connection cannot be established to the Facebook server." so I uninstalled the facebook app and waited for the phone to reset and reload. it took ages and about 3 battery removals to get the phone to load up to the password screen, and when it did get passed that, the phone wont let me click on my text message or email shortcut. I switched the phone off and saw a white screen with an error number of app err 523. My phone has been fine since I bought it until tonight.

View 4 Replies View RelatedEver since I updated my desktop software to 6.0, when I back up my device, it changes my time zone to Eniwetok (I am in Eastern Time Zone).My computer is set on Eastern Time Zone, and the time zone does not change in Outlook when I sync, just on my device.I even have Auto Update Time Zone on my device turned off, but it still changes my time zone. I have this problem since the beginning. the phone freezes and restarts time b time when i am using it or sometimes even when i press the unlock key to use it the screen shows up and freezes then restart. most of the time it restarts when its on charging and the battery is above 90% and it always restarts when i use it after the battery is fully recharged. Now yesterday it restarted around 15 times and its becoming pain you know. I have it on the kitkat software didn't update to lolipop. I am not using simcard and i also tried using without sd card.

It looks similar to the icon used for missed call or placed call except it has a curved arrow next to it. It is a gold phone receiver and the arrow is bent at a 45 degree angle. (Kind of like a backwards check mark with an arrow head on the bottom). I have a suspicion that it has to do with call forwarding since I forwarded calls to different phone # the other day, however, I cancelled that. I have checked my messages folder, rebooted, pulled battery, done an update, etc. Nothing works. I looked through the manual and it doesn't show the icon.

When I first got the phone, I had only topped it up 10GBP which meant I didn't have the BlackBerry internet (data) service/pack. My phone could still send & recieve incoming calls and texts but now that I have topped up again 15GBP (the amount at which I can get the Data pack), The top bar has just been saying : 'Searching for Network. even though it was working before. Now I cannot recieve or send a call or even text. The 3G doesn't work but the WiFi does. The Line with the upside-down triangle on it has an 'x' next to it.

When I check for airtime SUPPLEMENTARY SERVICE ERROR - GENERAL ERROR. I have put my sim card into another. Phone and was able to make n receive calls and smses. But when I put my sim into my blackberry I am not allowed to. My blackberry is vodafone I am currently using a cellc sim card in it. The phone has worked fine from the time I bought it in december 2011 till september 2012.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI've been having trouble with my phone. I just got my Bold 9700 two days ago, and I've decided to tweak it a little. Once I connected my phone into my computer via. USB, two autoplay windows (as usual) popped up, one for my SD Card, and one for my Device itself, then Blackberry Desktop Manager popped up, then it froze. I force quit it and closed the program, then upon removing my phone (by ripping it out aside from Safely Removing it) from the USB then connecting it again, my Device Storage did not autoplay, and it did not show up as a device when I opened "My Computer", but my SD Card Storage shows up. I'm using OS 6 (6.0.0.723, Platform 6.6.0.248). I've tried the calfix thing, but I don't think it applies to my phone, as it's PID_8004.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI bought an unlocked Blackberry Curve off of eBay, put my AT&T SIM card in it, and it worked great for about two weeks. Then I ignorantly downloaded a "free theme" and about a week after this, my Blackberry started freezing whenever I would go to make a phone call, the screen just goes black and it freezes until the hourglass comes up and the phone turns back on in about two minutes. Also, if someone tries to call me, my phone will do the exact same thing and they will go straight to voicemail. I have removed all the applications from my phone and done my best to wipe the entire system, but it still freezes whenever I try to make phone calls. It has pretty much stopped freezing at any other times besides when I am attempting to make phonecalls now so there is a slight improvement. Is there any way I can redownload the operating software (even though the phone is unlocked) or what else would be advised that I do?
