Jan 18, 2010i have a unlocked blackberry storm for tmobile i can send and recieve texts and the internet works fine, however when i try to call it says no channel/circuit avaliable. i went to india for a few weeks and calling worked just fine there is there any way to fix this problem?

Sep 7, 2010I recently updated this phone with the 5.0 version via desktop. Installation was successful, kind of. Sending and receiving text, internet, media, etc. all work fine. But whenever I make a call this phone goes off, the little red light blinks and then blackberry logo appears above a loading/buffering bar. Before the update placing calls went on without a hitch.

Aug 23, 2010Unlocked my verizon bb storm yesterday. It is now an AT&T carrier bb. It made/received calls all day.
Updated the phone via USB cable to the latest software.
Didn't notice anything was wrong today at first. Set my email up today, and it works great along with the txt messaging.
However I cannot make or receive calls. It keeps saying "Congestion". I have called AT&T and they say there is no congestion in my area and told me they can't help me because this phone isn't for at&t and blah blah blah.
I don't know what to do now. Any ideas of things I can try?
I do know that I had to make room for the update and barely had room if this means anything.....
BB Storm :: No Call Display 9530?
Jan 18, 2011I have a blackberry storm 9530 unlocked from verizon wireless, US. But I am using it in Canada with the service provider Fido. The phone seems unlocked as everything else is working like the internet, outgoing calls, messenger, emails etc. But I noticed it today that the call display isnt working. I checked with my service provider they said that i have call display and it should work but they didnt knew anything about this phone so could not help (as the phone is not from the provider). So when some one calls i can only see unknown number calling (No name or number display). I dont know if its a network problem (which i think its not because they say its on and should be working) or something needs to be changed in the handset.

So when I get a text now 2 icons pop up (SMS and crunchSMS) and I have to go to both to stop my phone from blinking. Jan 10, 2010How do you clear the call log from the phone application. When I go to the messages folder and open call log, and do a delete prior it clears them there. But when I hit the green key to use the phone and then the middle icon for call log, they are still listed there. I know I highlight one and scroll forever but I have like 6 months or more worth! And where is it set how long to keep call log?

I would call myself on the technical side, but am just not sure of how one smartphone can do it and one cant. Not bashing RIM or my storm..and not looking to transfer over to the iphone - just interested in knowing why and if there is, or will be some BB that can offer this.
eg.. what hardware makes this achieve-able? can RIM at all add this to future BB's.
I feel it doesnt have to do anything between CDMA and GSM, I could be wrong, Im sure there are a few members on here that can help clarify.

Sep 12, 2010I wish there was an easy way for me to portray the amount of disdain I have for my Storm at this time, however, that won't do me any good!I'm just looking to get some insight to my problem and whether or not it can be resolved! It would be really unfortunate if I had to replace my lump of a phone as I am a college student that just moved away from home and am in the middle of my two-year contract.My phone is still in operating order minus the faulty touchscreen, it still receives messages, emails, and even phone calls. All the side buttons work, in short, the screen is just dead.I did not drop it nor spill any liquids on it and I've performed a plethora of battery pulls. I'm at a loss!Let me describe the events that occurred before (seemingly) death of my touchscreen. I was at a friends house preparing for a 9/11 5k race when I noticed my battery was running low so I left it in a safe place to quietly run out of steam because I had no need to carry a phone during a race. At this point it was still fully functional. After the race, I check my phone to see if it was out of power yet which it was. I get home later that night and charge it only to rudely surprised by an inoperable screen. I cleaned the screen and did a few battery pulls afterwards in hopes it was only a minor problem to no avail.

I was also in a moderate car crash the day prior so perhaps that may have caused some problems? Externally, my phone is in mint condition. I suppose this just hasn't been my week!

Apr 25, 2010Ok this is my situation. I have a blackberry curve from tmobile. My sister got a new phone so she gave me her blackberry storm 9350. I went to a cell phone shop around my area and they unlocked the storm so i can use it with my tmobile sim card. I put on the sim card and i thought everything was working perfect but then i found out that i have multiple problem.
The good: I can make calls, i can use the internet.
The bad: when i place a call my sister number appears in the other person phone (not my tmobile number), i cant call my voicemail, cant setup my email, cant receive calls and more problems i still havent discovered lol.

May 4, 2010My Storm 1 crashed Sunday night with message on screen stating 'Reload Softwares 552'. I called Verizon Tech Support and they just ended up giving me a brand new Storm 2 for free! Feb 11, 2010Has a Storm and it just shut off on. When I pull the battery, the red light comes on for a few seconds and the screen and buttons light up. Then, it starts over. 20 minutes later and it's still in that same cycle.
It's rocking Verizon's official 5.0 and she doesn't do anything to modify or hack it. I've never encountered this before.
I'm wondering if the OS became corrupt, but we're @ Red Lobster and there's nothing I can do now.

Jun 7, 2010Somtimes when reading a text or using camera my Storm will re-boot and when it comes back up it will say the battery is dead. This happens after its been on the charger all night. The only way to fix it is to use quickpull. Which i have set to re-boot everyday at 5am.. Could my battery be going bad or what?

Jan 6, 2010So my old, wine covered Storm is gone and I got a brand new replacement from Telus today. Hurray! I backed up the old phone and restored it backup on the new one, but all my third party apps are gone (Telus told me that they should transfer, but I was skeptical). Is there anyway to get these back without having to re-download them all? There's two or three that I actually paid for... it would suck to have to re-buy them!
I'm looking at BlackBerry Desktop Manager, and there's an option to import 3rd party apps from the old phone to the new one, but you need to have both phones at the same time I think. Not too handy!
