So I just purchased the official boost curve. I'm curious is there a way to turn off that stupid magnifying glass zoom thing? And just have the internet all one large font? My metro curve didn't have this and was all in one easy to read font.

It works & all [I think it was my aunts work phone], yet A LOT of the apps say restricted & most of the options in the option menu have a little lock on it so I can't change any options. The camera app is locked too. Any help on removing the "restriction" option?

View 6 Replies View RelatedI bought a Sprint 8330 from a guy on Craigslist, and it worked fine until my girlfriend freaking wiped my phone trying to guess my password. So I got on crackberry and followed the instructions from Lecture 12 of the BB 101 and got it up and running again. Or so I thought.. Now, I have no browser icon whatsoever, and all of my MMS options are gone. I believe the phone had OS4.3 before because now all of my home screen stuff looks different along with my inbox. I just wanna have my MMS and Internet back. Should I go back to 4.3? Or is this something really easy that I just don't know because I'm a first time BB user? Help pls?
Also! I had the phone flashed over to work with Cricket Mobile. I doubt that has anything to do with it though considering my MMS and internet still worked then.
I organized my screen for hours on my BB8330, created some sub folders and put all icons in order. And, I lost my "Options" and "Compose" icons, which is like the most important ones! I read all suggestions here. It is not hidden, it is not in another folder, it just gone. Now when I change the Theme, I do see it, but all my work is gone, and I like my current Theme of Sprint. Any idea how to restore my lost icons on my current Theme? Look like a BB common problem.

Verizon (my current) has phones with big displays and keyboards but they have a greedy requirement of "data plan" for those phones.The best they will offer is a "Cosmos". Nice keyboard but tiny display. I asked a VZ rep here on CB and the guy got all bent and childish calling me names and such.Hey, I'm the one paying so why can't I get something I am happy with?
It seems to have occurred recently and am wondering if it is related to the recent Nokia camera/beta camera updates. I'm running 8.1 DP but I don't believe I was having this issue before and I don't believe I have had any recent big falls or jolts to the phone that might cause mechanical problems and I believe the zoom works fine in still pictures.

Digital zoom is so stupid - I can duplicate the effect of digital zoom by cropping the photo with photoshop afterward. Not only is digital zoom in effect the same a cropping a photo, but because the photo was cropped from the get-go, you have LOST information that you might have wanted. What if you "zoomed in" and took the picture, but mistakenly chopped off the top of your subject's head? That portion of the head was actually being perceived by the camera's sensor, so you could have had a complete photo, but it is now lost forever thanks to digital zoom.

I have also removed my battery while phone was on, but am still receiving message. Now when I go to Options, nowhere in there (and all files are as "show all") is there anything in regards to SMS text messages. I do have a folder named SMS but it is empty?All went squirrely after I did an update on OS 6, not an upgrade, just an update that was offered. Icons have moved around that I'm not able to move, even when following directions again, from this site.

Backstory: I have the 8330... this is brand new, not even 30 days old. I had one before but Sprint felt I needed a sofware upgrade due to my phone resetting and they basically locked me out of the phone. How genuis??? So a week's worth of daily 20mile drives to Sprint's repair stores in a torrential downpour and I have a new phone.
ISSUE: When I take pictures on this blackberry and I zoom, my picture comes out very small online. the closer the zoom, the smaller the pic. how do I turn this off. This is the gripe of my life right now! It never happened on my old phone. allmy pics were large (per my setting).Any insight on how i can fix this or should I return this blackberry too?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a Curve 8520 that's brand new. However, I notice when I zoom the camera and take a picture, the camera doesn't actually zoom in. All it does is resize the image so that it gets smaller the more it says the zoom number. For example, If I take a picture at 1x zoom, it will be 1024x768 pixels on my computer screen. However, if I zoom in 3x, it makes the picture much smaller (like 600x800) and more focused (and pixelated) on the center of the subject of the picture.
So that on the tiny Blackberry screen, the picture appears bigger when resized down a lot. When has digital zoom meant resizing the image to fool the user into thinking that it is zoomed only when viewing it on the blackberry screen? When I zoom in, it should keep the picture the same size! What a gip for a relatively high quality phone camera too.
The zoom feature was initially working with the touchpad button, however it stopped working abruptly and I am not too sure if it was a setting somewhere that I accidentally disabled. How to enable it or does this sound like a hardware issue?

When you put the Today mode on (which I really like) is there a way to change or re-arrange those? I have looked but can not find where in the phone.
