BB Curve 83xx :: Off The Internet After Taking Old Samsung U70
Aug 16, 2010
I just recently purchased a Black Berry Curve 8310 off the internet after taking my old Samsung U740 into the lake with me while swimming.. yeah stupid, I know.. So, I found out that the U740 doesn't have a sim card, therefore I can;t just take it out and put it into my black berry. Do I have to go to Bell mobility and ask them for a sim card? Can I use the BB with my old plan?
Got a quick question. Is there any anti-porn filters for Blackberry's? I'm looking for one and I can't find anything online. I don't want to remove my browser because I search for miscellaneous things during lunch but want to put a filter to keep my berry clean from that other filth.
I downloaded the blackberry desktop manager to my computer.. and connected my blackberry 8330. i went to the application loader to put more apps on, checked all of them and downloaded them to my bb, but i didnt know that it was gonna delete the ones i had there. So now i dont have the internet browser.. how can i get it back ? I already tried: Option> Advanced opotion> host routing table> register now; and it say "registration message sent!" and nothing happens. i dont have blackberry maps either.
Just started having this problem in the last week. My 8330 won't give me any of my new emails unless I "wake it up" by using the internet. The minute I surf somewhere it'll pop up every single email since the last time I used the net. So for example, I go to bed, and the next morning it won't be showing me any of the emails I received overnight (and I get several every night). If I use the internet to go to to a website, they all come through, bam bam bam.
Also, brand new problem. Just now I tried uploading some things to twitpic and they still haven't gone through. I sent two twitpic emails to my account over an hour ago. Both outgoing emails have clocks beside them (not marked delivered). Twitpic worked 10 hours ago... what is going on?
i have reset IT policy via crack utility, wiped file system, wiped apps-reloaded firmware, successfully loaded "combined 3" service books using instuctions from this forum-but cannot get internet-i am using the paid version of cdma workshop and have access to programming menu, have reset spc to "000000"-the phone is making and recieving calls-just no internet.
I want to control my computer(it just has to use the mouse and keyboard doesn't have to show me the computer screen on my blackberry) with my 8330, is there any FREE applications that do this either with Wi-Fi or Internet? I don't have Bluetooth on my laptop, also if it has USB support that would be nice too(it might eat the battery less
I switched blackberry curves (same models 8310), and I used the switch device wizard on Desktop manager.I've lost my email and browser icons and when I try to get to an internet app (ie. facebook, yahoo), I get an error message stating that I couldn't connect because data service is not available. I was able to access the internet on my other phone.
I've checked the following: - Options > Advanced Options > Host Routing Table (register and received activation text) - Options > Mobile Options > Data Services is ON - Removed the battery Any other ideas? I am receiving phone calls, texts and my blackberry messenger app is working.
After I updated my Z2 mobile to android lollipop, I noticed that watching videos from the Internet is taking so much time to buffer, especially videos in Facebook. Is this a common problem or I am the only one having this problem. And how can I solve it.
i just bought sgs2. my phone always hang when i taking a picture. so,i need to shut down my phone before i can take another pic. sometime i need to take off my battery because all buttons not function.
I have a SGS2 that is one year old, I still use gingerbred 2.3.3, and I haven't attempted anything special prior to getting the problem. I first noticed I had a problem when I booted my phone yesterday: booting took much more time than it use too, but then it worked. After entering my password, I got access to the usual page, but then, pop-ups appeared one after the other saying: "Sorry, need to close the application "name it". Thanks for trying again" (don't know what's the precise wording in english because mine is in an other language... still, you get the picture). The phone still works for calling, SMS and a bunch of apps... but applications like facebook, twitter, lookout, dropbox and a few games won't boot anymore.
Other things I noticed: - I lost a few apps (at least 2) that disappeared completely from the phone - I can't erase the cache when accessing settings/storage. Also, it won't recognize the SD Card space availability in the storage section. However, when looking at it by accessing settings/applications/memory usage, I can see what are the apps on my SD card. - There is no correlation between the apps that have problems and the ones found on the internal SD memory card. - Over the past month, my phone would sometime reboot after being closed. Didn't happen frequently, but I read this could be linked to the USB port? Anyway, just saying it here while I'm typing something. - Finally, I have the feeling the OS version is not the one i had previously (downgraded?) because several apps asked to be updated after rebooting the phone a few times. Just I feeling because if i changed the OS for an upgrade, it was over 10 months ago.
So that's it. I already tried booting with the three buttons trick to erase the cache in basic mode: didn't changed a thing.
No Browser is running and I dont have any apps. I was on the phone for 15 min and my battery was half dead when I got off. Was never like that before. I've had this phone for almost 2 years. The same thing is happening with the rest of my families Blackberrys. Why is this?
I was given a BB Curve 8310 to attempt a repair. When I attach the USB cable to the BB the system tray does not pop up with a notification that says "found new hardware" like it normally does when you plug a BB in. When the phone boots up it displays error msg " JVM Error 513". I attempted to looking into the device by using "cracmem" and "JL_Cmder" and no data is to be found and thus there is nothing to wipe. I suspect that the device has already been wiped thus the no data. I have pulled the battery from the phone and reinstalled; unplugged the usb cable during the BB boot process and nothing is happening. The DM application loader will not allow me to procede due to computer not recognizing the BB device thus it is not generating the "USB:UNKNOWN".
I installed the BB desktop manager for Mac yesterday, and this morning connected to remove some apps, create some space, and install all the updates. In the process of this it mysteriously just stopped doing anything right after it said "database cannot be backed up" and shut off. Now it's flashing red twice, pausing for about 2 seconds, and repeating the flashing. I pulled the battery and sim even though I was sure that wouldn't do anything, plugged it back into my laptop, plugged it into the wall both with and without the battery, and nothing has changed. The desktop manager doesn't not recognize the device at all.
I'm using a Curve 8330. Is there anything I can do or am I screwed totally? Also, and I know this is a long shot, but what are the odds that I can restore the device and save the data that's on it?
I've had my 8330 Curve with Verizon since November 2008. Very happy with it. I also happen to still be using OS 4.3.0.127 (202), which is what the unit came loaded with. I never bothered upgrading because I would always hear of people having issues or DM only backing up your contacts and not your apps, lower music volume, etc. I don't really need Docs To Go, but HTML e-mail would be nice and the biggest thing is trying to improve these BBM delays I constantly get when trying to send a message. I'm thinking an upgrade to the latest BBM might help change that.
Of course, in order to do that, I need to upgrade to 4.5. So I've decided to do it, but not before I ask for feedback here. I've scanned dozens of other threads here, all with varying opinions. It's been long enough. Is it wise to do this and, if so, what is the latest OS for VZW (is it .138)? What risks am I really running here? Need a reality check on this.
I don't know if this is possible or not so I thought I would ask here, is it possible to alter the way the menu functions in the blackberry curve? in example, what I want to do is like when I send a sms text message and when I hit the trackball and the menu options come up, the send button is highlighted, and what I would like do is modify it so that the check spelling is highlighted first and then send button is right below it, is it possible to do this or is this an internal Blackberry Software modification?
I have a Curve 8530 on Telus (about 7 months old). It takes anywhere from 5-15 minutes for me to receive an email. My huband (9700 on Telus) has sent me an email and we timed it to take 14 minutes. I have 2 accounts on the BB - a corporate and a hotmail account, and the timing is the same for either. I have done a battery pull, backed up my phone and updated it - nothing works.
I have a Blackberry Curve 8320. Yesterday night, the "battery too low for radio use" sign appeared. I plugged it in for about an hour but the sign would not disappear so I did a battery pull. Radio turned back on, but now the phone will not charge. The lightning icon still shows up by the battery but it is stuck at 5%. Any suggestions?
whereever the experts think is best. I want to sync my phone with yahoo so I will have my address book always updated. Because I had to wipe my phone last week and lost just about everything (had some address book on my KATANA to download what was there).I just now did a fresh back up of my device. (however I got a message that says : Error Backing up DataBase [profiles}6 of 8 entries retrieved.
I am connected to Wi-Fi but unable to connect to the internet like FB,Yahoo or other websites. My sister used to connect to wifi but now that I am using her handset, I cannot do so.
I can no longer zoom in or out when taking a photo - to do so you use the trackpad - mine used to work but now doesn't. My phone (BB Curve 9300) is only 4 months old, so it's either stopped working or I've done something without knowing!
I'm trying to update my software from my Curve8900 and it said it would take up to 2 hours.. That was 5 hours ago and it's only at 3%. I took the battery out to see if I could escape this but it won't work. No matter what I do it just continues to go back to this software update.
Every time I take a picture with my Blackberry, it says, "file not found" and won't save to my phone. I've tried going into properties and running an error check when plugged into my computer, pulled the battery, and nothing works. Anyone know how to fix this?
