BB Curve :: How To Backup/sync 8330
Mar 20, 2011I've had my Curve for a few years now but have never backed up or sync. I really would like to make sure I backup my contacts, calendar, pictures, videos, and memopad. I cannot for the life of me figure out the "device software" and dont know if I even downloaded it correctly.

And it doesn't allow me to cancel. it says it is cancelling but it never does. I have to turn the desktop off to get Blackberry to cancel. How can I fix this?

Feb 21, 2010My data port on my 3 month old 8330 died and Sprint gave me a new one today. The contacts were transferred at the store - but after I restored from my DM backup done one week ago - none of my other settings were restored. What did I do wrong or what have I missed? Sprint rep told me the backup restore would get my new 8330 back to being just like the old one - but it's not.I want to get my email settings, apps, ring tones, wallpapers etc, back. I don't want to have to create everything over again when I have a good backup.

Mar 12, 2010I have two Blackberry 8330's here. One is a 8330 and the other is a 8330m. The 8330m receives MMS pictures embedded and the 8330 receives an SMS with a link to look at the picture online.I know this isn't new but I haven't been able to find any solution to this if there even is one.
One thing I found is that somewhere it was said that the two phones receive different types of Service books depending on the model.Now, maybe this is a stupid question but I am asking it anyways .Can I somehow copy the MMS service book from the 8330m and put in on my older 8330 ? If it's possible, will this fix the MMS as an SMS link problem ?

Apr 12, 2011I have tried every way I know how but I cannot sync My bb8330 With the 2011 Yahoo! upgraded calendar.I saw in the previous community forums that that seemed to be a problem with the Yahoo Calendar in 2009.. This calendar I am using was just upgraded recently and you cannot go back to the previous one where you can sync.I have tried all of the Yahoo help pages to no avail!

Jun 17, 2012I installed the latest version of iTunes yesterday and now it won't recognize my iPhone. I'm using Windows XP. At some point during the download a window popped up that said Windows didn't recognize the iTunes logo or something like that and proceeding might cause connection issues in the future. I paid no atention to it and proceeded since I've never had this issue before. I've tried all of the troubleshooting steps (except for uninstalling/reinstalling iTunes).

Jun 23, 2012I used to have a complete set of ringtones on my Itunes and on my iPhone 4S. Recently I've upgraded (?) to IOS 5.1.1 and I lost my specific ringtones! they do appear in itunes but when looking at the tone folder on the device, they have an exclamation mark.

Dec 12, 2011I set up sync when first installing the PC companion, and everything has worked great until a few days ago. Now it won't sync and I keep getting random alerts day and night. I've checked the settings and I have a random looking username which I can't change as it's greyed and not selectable. Password is hidden but only shows 8 chars and not 10 as it should be. The only way to stop the annoying alerts is switch background data traffic off, but then my apps like sat nav need it!

Apr 22, 2010I've had my 8330 Curve with Verizon since November 2008. Very happy with it. I also happen to still be using OS 4.3.0.127 (202), which is what the unit came loaded with. I never bothered upgrading because I would always hear of people having issues or DM only backing up your contacts and not your apps, lower music volume, etc. I don't really need Docs To Go, but HTML e-mail would be nice and the biggest thing is trying to improve these BBM delays I constantly get when trying to send a message. I'm thinking an upgrade to the latest BBM might help change that.
Of course, in order to do that, I need to upgrade to 4.5. So I've decided to do it, but not before I ask for feedback here. I've scanned dozens of other threads here, all with varying opinions. It's been long enough. Is it wise to do this and, if so, what is the latest OS for VZW (is it .138)? What risks am I really running here? Need a reality check on this.

Jan 7, 2010I'm a BB newbie but recently received one for work. My problem is trying to transfer the contacts from my old cell phone (Sanyo SCP-7050) to my new Curve 8330. I took it to my local Sprint store and they said the contacts can't be transferred because the BB is registered on a BES. The Bluetooth connection won't work either, I assume for the same reason.Am I out of luck or is there some other way I can get the contacts into my BB? I have the contacts stored as individual business card files (.vcf) and was hoping there is a way to use the micro SD card to load them on somehow.
