BB Curve 8300 :: How To Access Backup File Info?
Aug 9, 2010I just upgraded the software to version 4.5 and in doing so lost all my photos and addresses. I see that a backup file was created (named LoaderBackup-(2010-08-08).ipd) that now resides on my computer. Is there a way for me to access this file to restore photos and addresses, etc? I'm willing to go back to the previous software version to do this.

Mar 31, 2010I'm unable to read individual emails when using the Outlook Web Access site in the internet browser window.I am using this to check work email and would rather do it this way (over the internet) than using the e-mail client that is part of the device. I'm able to log-in to my inbox and see everything I should see, however when I try clicking on an individual email to read it, nothing happens. I've tried clicking on the sender's name, the subject line and everything else on the line for that email. When I do that nothing happens.Am I doing this wrong? Is there somewhere else I'm suppose to click? Is there possibly some setting that needs to be turned on or maybe one that is on that should be unchecked?Any help would really, really be appreciated.

Nov 17, 2011I am trying to test out MotoCast on my WHS. I realize it is not a supported OS but the install went fine and I am able to access the server from MyMotoCast.com. I can download items from the Files tab and I am able to stream music from the MUSIC tab. From the VIDEO tab, I am getting a nice presentation of the available videos including thumbnails. However, when I click on one (any of them), I get audio but no video (occasionally I do get about 1/4" of video at the top of the page). Does anyone have this working from a PC? Is the Windows Home Server the problem? I don't have a MotoCast phone yet (I have a Droid X) but I would like to try this out before committing to a RAZR or Bionic.

Oct 29, 2012I seem to have a problem with my Asha 302.I can connect to my home wi-fi and access the internet with no problems at all. However, I'm unable to access web servers or services on my own LAN.First spotted when I tried to set up the 'Mail' application and creating custom settings to connect to my own IMAP and SMTP server on IP address 192.168.0.199. The mail app would inform me that the server was unreachable or words to that effect.Using both the Nokia web browser and Opera, I have since tried connecting to a local web server again on 192.168.0.199 and both browsers replied with address unreachable. Have also tried connecting to my router on 192.168.0.1 and again I get address unreachable.My phone connects to my wi-fi with address 192.168.0.15 - and with gateway 192.168.0.1, DNS 192.168.0.1 as per any other device on my network.I have also tried doing exactly the same thing on a Nokia N8 - and the N8 is successfully communicating with local servers.I'm running v14.53 and had same problem with 14.23.

Feb 21, 2010I recently upgraded to the 9700 with Tmo in December. Coming from an 8900 I thought it would truly be an "upgrade". Since getting the 9700 i have had more dropped calls, call fail, can not access server etc. The phone will even go into a soft reset mid call, text or email for no reason. I called tmo and the replaced the phone and sim card. it worked well for about a day or two and BAM same crap. I am not so sure its the phone anymore. Some people i talk to say it is TMO service but i have never had this problem before and have been with tmo for 3 yrs.any suggestions /advice?

Jun 1, 2010I am having trouble with some things that I havent been able to figure out by now and this is my last resort where to find answers. This issue is really bugging me. After literally spending two weeks with my service provider telephoning most time waiting in witing for a call center agent to get connected to and being each time transferred to another division to a last being transferred to the divission where I first started at speak meoving in a cricle and no one being able to help me and this whole theater every day the same for two weeks, I am turning now to the people here hoping I could find some answers
1) My provider in Switzerland is sunrise (BIS), so I went on to the website sunrise.blackberry.com and entered my existing accounts, 4 of them. Additionaly I registered a new blackberry email address to be able to use the true push service which is xx@sunrise.blackberry.com (xx being just a placeholder for my real name). The problem is though that I haven't been able to find out the mail settings I have to enter into my Mail Programm on my PC so I can access the emails on my computer. I dont know if it's a pop server, an IMAP server and not to speak of the mail settings of the server settings for incoming and outgoing email. Since it's actually a BlackBerry server I figured that the servers are BB managed (no one at Sunrise Switzerland even knew what BIS is or that you could receive PUSH mail with the Blackberry email).
2) I tried to register a new email address at https://bis.na.blackberry.com/html for a direct xx@blackberry.com email address thinking that maybe with this, it would easier to find infos about the settings. The problem here is that I have to enter my PIN (no problem) and ESN/MEID number. The Problem is that I haven't been able to find those numbers now mather how hard I tried; they are not even listed in options>status.

Aug 18, 2010I recieved my Curve 8520 6 days ago and I am still waiting on my service provider contacting me about the Blackberry Tariff HOWEVER when setting up my phone using the Wizard Setup I did not have two options for the email setup, only Enterprise Email Activation...I have never had one, this is my first Blackberry. How do I apply the other option of Add An Email Address? Or does this mean that the phone has been used by someone else (even though it was bought from my service provider "brand new"), or a fault has arisen? What can be done?

Jan 7, 2010I'm a BB newbie but recently received one for work. My problem is trying to transfer the contacts from my old cell phone (Sanyo SCP-7050) to my new Curve 8330. I took it to my local Sprint store and they said the contacts can't be transferred because the BB is registered on a BES. The Bluetooth connection won't work either, I assume for the same reason.Am I out of luck or is there some other way I can get the contacts into my BB? I have the contacts stored as individual business card files (.vcf) and was hoping there is a way to use the micro SD card to load them on somehow.

Jul 12, 2010After trying 3 days to get my BB 8310 Curve connected to my network provider (I do have a data plan and internet plan) Iīm a little bit upset.
The problem: I have all necessary data-plans and also registered my BB on the internet at the Web-Page (BIS?).Ok, my handheld is also recognised and the system doesnīt complain.But: on my handheld I can see only the word "edge" (in small letters - this shows that no data-plan is active as we know, but thatīs not true) and not "EDGE" as it should be.An even better suspicicous issue: I called with the hotline from my provider and he also could see within his database that my handheld is registered and all plans were active.
So I tried following:
I inserted my SIM to another BB and it worked! (not so with my BB)
I also inserted another SIM from my colleague (who also uses a BB) and what happened? Nothing - also no connection.
So I assume that thereīs somehow a bug in my handheld? Has anybody an idea? I would very appreciate it.
By the way, I have the latest OS:

I've updated my desktop to v5.0, but everytime i click the link on the website it tells me i have the current version. i checked under "about" and i have v. 4.5.0.175. Apr 8, 2010I've noticed this a couple of times with different contacts on Blackberry Messenger: I send them a message and it gets marked D for delivered. It then shortly thereafter is marked "A" for answered, and I receive a response to my message, all which makes sense. But sometimes I've noticed that my message is marked A, as if they've answered me, but I never receive a message back. Does this mean that they answered me and I just never received the message? That they've received my message and ended the conversation?Just wanting to understand why my message would be marked A when it doesn't appear to have been answered. any ideas?

Mar 18, 2010I have a 8350i through Nextel. A couple of weeks ago my BB shut itself off and then turned itself back on. I did not think much of it until it started happening very frequently. When I say frequently, I mean every 10 minutes. Quite frustrating for a phone that I use for work. I took it to a local service department but they did not know what was going on so they just swiped the software and reloaded it. This resolved the issue for about 24 hours and then it has started again. It was sporadic again with about a day between each one but it has since become a very frequent issue again. It is happening about 5 times a day that I know of.I am currently running Version 4.6.1.313.

May 6, 2010my Blackberry started doing something rather strange 2 days ago while it was sitting on the table for about 3 hours in stand by or whatever it does when you aren't using it. When I picked it up it was really hot even in its holster and I noticed that the battery was critical so I plugged it in after 30 mins it wouldn't charge so I took the battery off the BB allowed it to cool and placed it in the Blackberry again this time it charged and works fine then again today it does it again. Today I disabled Bluetooth and wireless prior to it happening so I know its something else.Now I would normally suspect a bad battery but if so it wouldn't charge and work normally would it?As for performance the only quirk that mine has is that once in a while it freezes (goes to hourglass) for 2 - 3 mins once it did it while I was dialing a call.Its on the latest os or so it says the blackberry desktop.
