BB Curve :: 3G Got Switched Off Permanently During Conversation
May 30, 2012
I bought one blackberry Curve 3G on 24th December. Some two days ago while talking to my friend over the phone, suddenly it got switched off. The battery charge was full but then also it was not getting switched on. After that I have tried to switch on the device by:
1. Pulling off the battery and putting it on once again
2. Try to charge the mobile
3. Try to charge the battery externally.
But all of them goes in vain. The Phone become dead. Now my point is within 6 months what can happen to Blackberry that it dies?
I would like to have my desktop view permanently on when I'm on the internet, it's so frustrating having to constantly turn it on manually and for no reason whatever the pages I save with a desktop view to home screen, when I access it from home screen it has switched to mobile version by itself and I have to switch it back to desktop.
I have always wondered on my Blackberry Bold 9700 under Options-SMS Text and go down to Network To Send Over and it gives me 4 options:
Circuit Switched
Circuit Switched Preferred
Packet Switched Preferred
Packet Switched
My Network is Circuit Switched Preferred, but i would like to know if anyone knows what these mean and which is the best for SMS Texts to be sent over using which one?
How do I permanently delete messages from my blackberry. I know it still stores all your messages even if you delete. That's why I'd like to know how to permanently delete messages.
i have recently received a bb curve 9360 and it constantly say ' no service' & 'searching for networks' i have contacted t-mobile and they say my phone has packed in. whats wrong shall i get a new phone?
share information regarding removing the uninstall applications (i have 15). I want to remove permanently and yes i wont be downloading it again that is for sure.Secondly also let me know whether these apps in uninstall category also eat the space as the memory is showing less free space. I have only 14 apps in use
Record a phone conversation with my blackberry curve 8530. When I try to turn on the voice notes recorder during a phone call it says "Cannot turn on voice recorder while phone is in use". Not sure if there is another way to activate the voice recorder or not.
I would like to email a full SMS conversation to someone - however, I do not want to select each line and forward it to email (this is the only option I know currently) -(i.e. selecting the full conversation)? I have the Curve 8530.
Yesterday, I received a telephone call on my BB Curve 8520 inviting me to a job interview. I was in a car and couldn't hear properly. Due to this, I didn't make out the day of the interview and don't want to call back to enquire because it may seem unprofessional.
I was given BB8300 with the phone having permanently enabled password (tiny padlock sign). How to remove the padlock and disable mandatory password????. I do not keep any state secrets on my phone and is a pain to input a password every time I check a time.
The facebook icon is permanently on my screen telling me I have 2 unread messages, but I haven't? How can I get rid of them? I have de-installed and re-installed FB but no joy!
Every night before I go to sleep I turn off my Blackberry curve and then turn it back on in the morning. However, just lately when I go to turn it back on it won't switch on, even though the battery was fully charged when I turned it off, leave it overnight and it won't turn back on. It has happened for a week now. If I turn it off at any other time and turn it back on it is fine, just overnight I have the problem. The only way I can turn it back on is by plugging it in. Is there anything that I can do? Do I need a new battery?
I have a blackberry 9300 3G curve with OS 6. Since past two days my battery is draining off very fast. I have changed the battery but the problem still exists. Even if i switch off the phone and switch it on again the battery is discharged.
I have only basic blackberry apps + facebook + whats app + google maps only. Rest i have uninstalled.
My Curve 8520 (v5.0.0.681) on O2-UK has switched to GSM since last Friday (16th).Initially it happened to my girlfriend's Curve 8520, then mine and now it has happened to her sisters Curve 9300.
It has not happened to my girlfriend's parents Curve 9300. I also work 50 miles from home and it's not working so it's not a single tower issue. I have tried pulling the battery, reinstalling the software and a security wipe.
I contacted my carrier (O2-UK) who state that it's not a problem with their network and that they have had a lot of reports of the same issue in this past week, they're saying it's a Blackberry issue.
I have a blackberry curve 8520 and I would like to know how to change the conversation style. A friend of mine has the same make of blackberry as me, and when she goes into the options menu etc., she has the option conversation style. However, on my blackberry I do not have this option and it is frustrating me, seeing as we both have the same make of phone?
I have a blackberry curve 8520 and it is not rebooting. I was sitting in my mates car and me blackberry just died so till I got home and plug but it fell and it is nor rebooting I took the battery out and placed it back in and it is trying to reboot but it switches off.
I have looked at many many forums and have not found a suitable or satisfying answer. I set my Save Message History to Device. Now when I access my BB from the computer, I open the IM folder. This folder contains no saved conversations. All I see are *.BAK files and another file that probably contains a backup of my BBM contacts. When I am in an active BBM chat i see the View history link but it ONLY displays the last message not the entire previous conversation. Point is if I am saving my message history on the DEVICE then where exactly is it?
I recently switched networks in an attempt to save money. It's a new network so they don't have an agreeement with Blackberry yet to carry RIM but I should be able to access the internet with it. (my brother who also switched has a nokia phone and has internet access now with no trouble.)I have configured the APN, but get a message when I try to get online that says "This is a Wi-Fi service. Please ensure your device has an active Wi-Fi connection and try again."So I googled that and from what I can find "The reason you are getting this message is your browser is set to hotspot browser and you are trying to connect over the mobile network. In browser options > general properties > default browser > set to internet browser."When I try to do this, however, I can't change from hotspot browser to internet browser. When I go to manage connections and check Services Status I'm told that my Blackberry Internet Service is not connected.I'm stuck at this point and don't know where to go next. I know that I can always switch back to my old network but I would like to see if I can solve this problem first before switching back.
I was in the middle of a conversation, my phone stopped working and would not come back on. Immediately went to two different verizon stores. Everyone just said "I don't know but would you like an upgrade"? The phone had not been dropped or wet. Also, no, It was not backed up and yes I lost everything!
I tried to delete a series of messages i was recieving from a stranger but as i was deleting them from the sms screen i recieved a new text from a friend and it seems i have deleted all my messages from that friend as well as the stranger. Is there any way i can recover these messages? I would presume they are still stored somewhere on my phone,I should mention my phone is a Curve 8520 currently on v5
Just got this phone (Curve 8520) and was told it had conversation view for text.I guess it doesn't.Now I am wondering if there are any programs to get this? If so what is the best/easiest to use?
I got the Curve 8530 on Verizon... I receive a text message from a person, go to the sms icon on my home screen and click on it. My bb shows the new message with the persons's name and a preview of the text. I click on it to view it but it doesnt open the conversation. Then I'll try an older conversation and it works fine. But what is strange is that it will only continue to happen to that one contact. So ill receive a new text from someone else and i can read it with no problems.
I am brand new to Blackberry - just got a Curve 8530. Playing with it, I found that two of the included "smiley" images for SMS text messages are switched - the emoticon view does not match the graphic & "name" of the picture. The items that are switched are "Straight Face" and "Whew". Is there a way to fix them - so I know which is actually sending within the message?
My curve 8520 shows a constant white screen when switched on every thing seems to be working i receive and make calls normal but the screen just remains white.
I wanted to copy across all the photographs in my curve, but when I switched on the media card support, they seem to have disappeared. Switching this mode off doesn't help. surely they can't have been deleted?
