Nokia :: E71 Permanently Display Own Number On Home Screen
Aug 17, 2010I know this has probably been asked before but for the life of me I have never seen a satisfactory answer. The company has recently presented us with Nokia E71 phones.How do you display your own number on your phone.Not how do you find it but display it on the screen so that it is always there.I have seen ideas like create a new profile and call it your number...or place it in contacts either as first number or own number.It would be nice to have it permanently displayed on the home screen or a one touch key that popped it onto the screen when required.God knows the number of time I've been asked my mobile (and there is a couple of them) and can't remember it.
So you need to fish the phone out unlock and trawl around looking for it.Ideal solution would be pop phone out press one key and number is present.Even if there is a piece of software which will allow this or creation of a screensaver with the number on it would be preferable to fishing around looking for the number.I mean with all the technology available to us in mobile phones today you think there would be a simple option to display own number.

Apr 17, 2012I am using a Blackberry, and very simply can show on the homescreen each separate email account, with a red star when at least one email arrives in the mailbox. It also shows at the top how many emails are new, overall. I'm not so concerned about "at a glance" seeing how many, but it's a god-send seeing (without pressing anything) where the emails have gone: work private hotmail. I know on the iPhone you go into Mail, and there you see your list of accounts, or 'All Emails', but that means I have to click Mail to do that. Is there a way (if like me you are email-busy) to see from the homescreen, a square icon for each account, and it show some form of identification that it has new mail it in?

Aug 23, 2011Only had my Blackberry Curve 8520 for 1 week. I have changed the phone number from the one supplied to my previous number to avoid having to notify all my cotacts of a new number. When I go into the calls screen (the one brought up when you press the green phone button) On the "My Number" line it is still showing the supplied number not the one I have changed to. I went into the Virgin Media Store today but I was informed that it cannot be altered.

Feb 10, 2011With recent software upgrade/update, when I start to dial a number it defaults to searching Contacts, which is fine. But the display of numbers I'm dialing is so tiny I didn't see them - had to hand to my son in frustration because I didn't think it was dialing at all. He pointed out the teeny-tiny numbers being displayed below the search field. Is there a way to increase the size of the numbers being dialed? Or change default back to dialing instead of search?

Jul 14, 2014I just upgraded from the HTC DNA to the M8, one thing I don't like and can't figure out if there is a workaround, on the DNA the lock screen would display all of my notifications (text, email, calendar) right on the lock screen so I could screen on and immediately see.
On the M8, with them turned on, it displays one line with all notifications hidden, and you need to swipe down to be able to see all of the notifications... which to me doesn't seem to make it any more useful than the notification bar that's already there.
Is there a way to make this notification area on the lock screen permanently expanded? The space below seems completely unused so I don't understand why you need to swipe down to expand in the first place.

Mar 23, 2012I've recently acquired an Xperia Mini Pro (SK17i) with Android 2.3.4 but the screen is permanently in landscape mode. And before anyone says check display settings. Yes it is in auto rotate with full animations on. Tried repair from SE companion, hard and soft reset but to no avail.
When i check services using the *#*#7378423#*#* request, accelerometer appears to work just fine as does the Slide flip Keyboard count. I originally thought it might of been hardware fault. But these tell me otherwise.
Although, admittedly it did switch to portrait view once for a split second whilst sliding the keyboard in half way. I haven't been able to replicate it since.

Sep 24, 2010I have had an X6 for about a month now, and the slider keyguard on the phone had broken off. The phone is now in a permanent state of saying 'use keyguard to unlock keys and screen'. Obviously I cant because it doesn't work!!
I have tried leaving it switched off for 15 mins, and restating it. This lets me restart the time and date but then locks once the phone opens up. I have tried a drawing pin and paper clip to slide the keyguard without the keyguard but to no avail.

Aug 29, 2011Normally the tray stays on my home screen permanently with one row of icons, and when I open the tray the rest appear. I liked this setting and found it easy to manage. However, while playing about with whether to show 1 icon etc, when the tray is closed it completely collapses now? I've changed it back to default tray setting, but it still hasn't fixed? How do I fix this, without putting it back to factory settings? (as I have a number of txt messages that I need to keep saved).

Aug 29, 2014This one will be hard to describe so I'll do my best: Somehow, I have 2 Toolbox Icons on my screen. One is movable and fully functional (works normally) and the other is stuck in the bottom right corner of my screen and is grayed out (but visible) and is not movable or functional.

1) Reset phone;
2) Turned the Toolbox "on" and "off" in Settings (when doing this, the functional Toolbox Icon turns on and off as it should);
