I have a BB bold and when i try to connect it to the laptop it automatically only charges the phone. Doesn't give me options of using the phone as a mass storage device or usb drive.Besides this phone there are 2 more bb's(curve and bold) which work absolutely fine with the laptop.

I charge my iPhone on my laptop so all my data backs up and its more practical for me as I use the laptop whilst it charges. Lately it connects and disconnects immediately ! So I want to connect my Phone which supports WiFi to my Laptop which is connected to the internet through wireless. I've tried to look online and so far there seems to be 2 possible ways.
Ad-Hoc: I tried creating a Ad Hoc connection via Network and Sharing Center>Set Up A New Connection Or Network>Set Up A Wireless Ad-Hoc (Computer to Computer) Network on Windows 7. When I searched for WiFi connections on my phone I did find the network I created but I couldnt go on the internet. BTW, when I create a AdHoc network, even my laptop is not connected to internet because I can only connect to one at a time meaning that I cant connect to my wireless.
Bluetooth: I believe that my laptop (Alienware M17x) has bluetooth. But I never really used it. Anyone know how to get internet on my phone via bluetooth?
Side Question: BTW, is there anyway to integrate maps into Google Maps 2.3.x? What about street view? Or can I somehow make Google Maps download the maps when I am connected through WiFi and store them so I can see them later.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a Blackberry Bold 9700, and everytime i connect it with my laptop, it wud only 'charge' the battery. The laptop will not detect it at all. Not even device manager. I checked its 'settings>memory>mass storage support' and all of those but it won't work. Not even the Blackberry Desktop Software would detect it. You plug in and all it would do is charge. It has a memory card in it too.
I have tried restarting the phone, wiping the handheld, restarting system, changing the entire laptop. But still it work at all. I have also used a different USB cable (just in case) but nothing yet.
I was able to connect it with bluetooth but whats with the USB? My brother's iPhone works fine with the laptop and performs all functions properly. Just the blackberry Bold 9700 is screwing up somewhere.

i had the bold 9900 for a month, and yesterday it died. so i got it replaced at the at&t store and the new one will not connect to my computer. it says that the usb device does not have enough power to charge my device, which i know is not true because it worked just fine with the last one i had. it indicates on the battery meter that it is charging, but it does not charge. i have the desktop software installed and that does not recognize it either. the blackberry also does not show up on the control panel's device manager under "universal serial bus controllers".
