Lumia 1520 :: Can Charge With But Cannot Connect To Laptop
Feb 14, 2015after searching 35 pages in the 1520 forum, i have not found a solution.within the last two weeks my 1520 has lost the ability to be seen by my laptop.
all updates to both phone and pc are current,phone is on PfD and current (8.1.1)laptop is windows 8.1 pro.have tried phone on another laptop with same result.have tried son's phone, also a 1520 with PfD and 8.1.1.his phone connects with no issues.is it possible i am missing something? a driver from phone, maybe?
i need to be able to connect phone to laptop. shortof a hard reset and unenrolling in PfD, what are my options.also can't send in for warranty, as this is primary device and no spare windows phone in home.

Jul 4, 2012I can charge my new I-phone to my parents HP laptop with itunes, and connect to itunes, and i can charge my phone with a wall charger. My parents i-phones will connect to my laptop and connect to itunes on my laptop (An ASUS) but mine wont do anything on my laptop. I downloaded the new itunes and it still didnt work, so i unistalledand deleted and I am redownloading it right now

May 16, 2012Iphone 3GS doesn't charge when I connect it to a network adapter or to a laptop. Only ocassionally, it gets connected indicating charging but it is unsystematic. The chargers I tried with work perfectly with others iPhones. If it may help, my iPhone was dropped couple of times. Also from my observations, I think sometimes the iPhone might charge while it shows no charging.

Everytime I press configure setting to set the item i want to sync, it give an error message "error encountered. error code - 0x80043ade. check documentation"..So I can configure address book to sync and therefore until now I can't sync my address book.

Jun 4, 2014Today I received a second-hand iphone 3GS to replace a 4s which I lost.
Upon receipt, the phone displayed an image of a usb connector and an itunes logo suggesting that I need to connect to itunes before use.Â
When I attach the phone to a toshiba satellite C50 laptop it connects and immediately disconnects with an audible tone. This connect/disconnect cycle repeats every second or so and never ends.Â
If I connect the phone whilst powered down, hold the power button and home button together for 10 secs and then hold the home button only to enter restore mode, the phone connects to itunes and I get the option to restore. However, the restore always fails.Â
I have tried connecting using two seperate USB cables - I am not sure if either is genuine. There is no effect.Â
I have tried disabling USB controllers individually within device manager. There is no effect.Â
I have tried different USB ports/ There is no effect.Â
While connected, the phone appears in the device manager intermittently, appearing and disappearing as the phone connects/disconnects.Â
The laptop is running windows 8.Â

If I plug it into the wall it charges so I know the phone is not broken. I have tried holding down the power button, power ad volume down, power and volume up, power and camera....If I plug it in while still alive and choose the USB function as "charge only" it will charge, but no other time. Apr 2, 2012My iPhone 4 suddenly wont connect to the laptop anymore. It still charges fine using the wall charger and I've tried numerous leads just in case. It connects to other peoples laptops. I've downloaded the lastest iTunes and tried to reinstall. All my USB ports work fine with other USB devices. The laptop makes the doo doo connection noise when plugged in so it's connecting somewhere. I have an iPhone 4 and a Advent Laptop with Windows 7.

Aug 20, 2014I've been having issues trying to connect my iPhone 5 (updated to the latest software version 7.1.2) to my HP laptop, it makes the little usb noise when it is plugged in, but the phone won't charge and it isn't visible on iTunes or 'my computer.' Im 100% sure its nothing to do with my USB cable as i have more than one genuine Apple lighting cables, I've plugged my mothers iPhone 5 to my laptop which is also updated to the latest version and it connects, charges and also shows up on iTunes. I have tried connecting my iPhone to other laptops (sister's HP laptop, dad's PC) and it works perfectly fine (charges, syncs to iTunes) so im sure its not my handset. I have updated my laptop's software and iTunes and i've checked that all of my USB ports are working fine. Â
p.s. I had another iPhone 5 which i lost and had the same problem.

Sep 7, 2012I have a Bold 9000 and it is draining the battery very quickly doesnt even last a few hours with a couple of calls and when its flat will only charge if I take out the battery and put in on a universal charger it wont charge with the blackberry mains charger, car charger or usb connection.I have bought two new batteries and all the same thing, turned off all applications I can see.The phone was bought new from an ebay seller in December and I cant get any response now from them and they are no longer on ebay.I have seen something about updating the system.
