My laptop does not recognize my iphone. when I plug my iphone in my laptop I only see a pop up window which indicates the storage space available on my phone. itunes dont open and if I open it manually, I cannot see my iphone there Â
I have updated everything I can. Uninstall and install again

It has been happening for a while but lately it is unbearable. I charge my iPhone on my laptop so all my data backs up and its more practical for me as I use the laptop whilst it charges. So I want to connect my Phone which supports WiFi to my Laptop which is connected to the internet through wireless. I've tried to look online and so far there seems to be 2 possible ways.
Ad-Hoc: I tried creating a Ad Hoc connection via Network and Sharing Center>Set Up A New Connection Or Network>Set Up A Wireless Ad-Hoc (Computer to Computer) Network on Windows 7. When I searched for WiFi connections on my phone I did find the network I created but I couldnt go on the internet. BTW, when I create a AdHoc network, even my laptop is not connected to internet because I can only connect to one at a time meaning that I cant connect to my wireless.
Bluetooth: I believe that my laptop (Alienware M17x) has bluetooth. But I never really used it. Anyone know how to get internet on my phone via bluetooth?
Side Question: BTW, is there anyway to integrate maps into Google Maps 2.3.x? What about street view? Or can I somehow make Google Maps download the maps when I am connected through WiFi and store them so I can see them later.

View 4 Replies View RelatedToday I had my new iphone 4s delivered, I charged it using the wall charger and when I went to sync with my itunes, the phone wasn't connecting to the laptop, I phoned apple support who talked me through re-installing itunes, when he suggested I try the phone on another computer(which was air mac) my phone connected straight away, the apple adviser said the problem would be with my windows, but its all completely up to date, I've got windows 7, thing is, my old phone (3g) connects fine and itunes is opened straight away, why wont it work with the iphone 4s.

I have recently bought a new HP laptop and now it will not install the correct drivers for my third party cable to allow me to sync my iPhone.
