I've had a little icon alert telling me that I have a new message on my phone all day.i pulled the battery, I've checked every folder I can find and there is no message! When I do actually get a message it will tell me I have two, and when I check the new one it goes back to the same "1 new message" icon that will not go away.

A battery pull does not fix my issue.

Issue
My bold is constantly showing that I have new BlackBerry Messenger messages on my home screen. I have closed all my messages and it still will not go away. I've tried sending a message to every one of my contacts (very annoying) so I could individually close them (thinking perhaps something went wrong when I previously broadcasted a message). This issue started a week after I got my phone and the previous two BlackBerrys I had did the same thing. Over time the number will continue to increase (on my last phone I had 138 messages at one point). The icon still works when I actually receive new messages it will just increase the number. See if you look at the top of the screen you will see it shows I have 5 BBM messages, however I have no open conversations at all.
when im the normal profile everything is fine, but when i switch it to vibrate for work and school, my gfs sms tone is still the mgs alert and still plays thru

The alert/sound only appears for incoming bbm messages when I'm typing on bbm. the alert/sound is different than the sound that I set on the profile menu and the volume is much bigger. Can I deactivate this alert/sound?

I recently upgraded to v5.0.0.411 and have had almost no problems so far. One problem I have had though is whenever I do a battery pull my battery instantly says it's drained upon starting back up. Today it went from 50% to 15% after one pull. I know it is a false reading because recently it went from around 50% to 3%(the yellow low battery light was flashing when I turned it back on as well), however, I was able to use the phone for hours after this and it remained at 3%. From what I've read I'm thinking this might be a problem with the battery or battery contacts? But it's strange that it started happening as soon as I upgraded my OS to 5.0. Any suggestions or info?
View 14 Replies View RelatedThis is only the second time this has happened since I got the phone a few weeks back.I have all of my messages set to different specific ringtones. My SMS to one, my MMS to one, my email to one etc. So tonight I rcvd an email and instead of playing the tone it always plays that it is set for (one of the generic preloaded notifier tones)... it played my SMS tone (which is an actual song tone) to alert me to my email.
And NO I didnt recieve a new SMS at the same time. That folder is empty and the only red star alert was on my email envelope. Like I said this is very, very few and far between but why would this happen??I went over every one of my sound/alert settings and they are all the way they should be set for my liking.
When I first got my X6 I had my message alert set to vibrate and when i received a text message the screen would do so as well as displaying a '1 new message' alert in the bottom bit of the screen. Recently my phone has stopped doing this and the only way I can see I have a new message is by touching the messaging icon and seeing the red asterisk that appears at the top right of the inbox when there is an unread message in there.

It is set to play a sound (message 1), and i've had it for months it used to beep normally but now it doesn't anymore. and the phone is not on silent. It doesn't show the new message icon either. Only way I know I've got a new message is by going into the messages screen and seeing the red inbox sign.

For some reason, if I don't click there first when I want to view a new txt message alert an go to the text msg folder first to read the msg, the alert doesn't disappear (unless I do a battery pull). If I click on the alert, it brings me to a blank text messaging field and when I click out of it, it's still there. How do I get rid of these alerts w/o having to do battery pulls?

When I had my desire before, started out great...then it started becoming unstable...the usual what is the latest thing you installed etc...the ?motherboard got changed twice and in the end, they sent me a new one...I hate setting it all up again, such a heartbreak to get something as u like it then have to do it again.Anyways, I nearly converted to an iPhone when it was time to upgrade as none of the htc appealed but the one came out just in time.I have the one s since soon after it's launch and have been loving it......BUT, since last week, glitches are starting...first, I have noticed the battery going down much faster, can't say I have changed the way I am using it...then have also noticed that I am not being notified of new messages, I initially at times but now always, and have missed a few important ones! And lastly, the homepage loading is now slow...before instant, now you go into the loading icon with timer going around and once there, widgets take some time to get info.Have tried checking on updates, uninstalling last few apps, clearing cache, turning off and back on..

View 1 Replies View RelatedI recently got a gold Z5 and have enjoyed it greatly. Over the past week or so, however, I've noticed that when I press the power button to unlock the device, sometimes the fingerprint sensor misses and attempts to read again. 5 times. Even without my finger on it.
I totally get that it's not a perfect system and false readings happen. But the sensor sometimes reads "automatically" after failing to scan my finger and then continues to try until it locks itself out, requiring me to enter my backup password.
Doesn't seem to be any physical problems with the hardware's exterior, and I can set up and unlock using the sensor fine. Sometimes it just gets a little excited.
I have just bought an N86. The message alert is flashing all the time. I have no unread messages, or draft meesages or items in my outbox.

The rest of the phone is find, alerts me normally when recieving calls.
I have tried restoring to factory setting, hard reset and reinstalling but nothing seams to work.

As since the answer is likely still no, why do you think Apple still hasn't implemented this, especially since we now have iOS4? My concern is because while I love the default (tri-tone I think it's called), with so many friends and family with iPhones, it starts to get confusing for people (since nearly everyone around me uses this one as the others are meh).

View 1 Replies View Relatedsince updating to 2.1 which actually went quite smoothly once i'd 'found' my contacts, my phone vibrates as well as makes a sound on incoming texts. The help guide (also disappeared off phone but can stll access online version) still refers to tapping settings & then tapping notifications.... well since the upgrade my settings menu has changed beyond recognition & when you tap settings there is no notifications option! The nearest is 'sound & display', in which i can change the sound used for texts alerts and also has a phone vibrate for incoming calls (which is unchecked) but nothing re vibrate for incoming texts.
