I have the coverage indicator off. The LED flashes if I am on Bluetooth, and if I get BBMs etc, but if I have nothing running, the red light flashes.
1) can I turn off that red light
2) can I turn off the Bluetooth flashing too?
I've got a Bold 9780- t-mobile for about 5 months now that will not come on. The led indicator flashes red 1 pause 2,3,4 fast flashing and then pause 5 and over again. That is all it does. I've been searching every where but I can't seem to find what it means.I got home and have put it on the recharger worked like a charm. After an hour used it for a text message, not a problem. Went to sleep for about an hour and when I came back the screen was black and all it did was flash 1-234-5 over and over again. I have taking the battery out waited ten minutes put it back in and 1-234-5 just the flashing. My phone will not start up. The screen stays black. The flashing is like I never seen before starts with a 1 flash then an interval of 1or 2 seconds then 3 quick flashes again a short interval and another flash. This keeps on repeating. Even when you take the battery out wait for ten minutes or longer it just flashes the same sequences If you link it to computer the computer doesn't reconize him as well. I'm totally lcked out of the device.Flashing is all it does.

I tried resetting it by removing the battery but that did not work, and I charged the phone for a little bit more but it still won't turn on. (If someone could tell me how to change the notification sound on buzzme it would be great also :]) However I used to have .593 and when I upgraded to .656, the led wont stop flashing untill I read my text FIRST, and then open my email inbox, although I have no new emails it will stop flashing. Sorry if this is kind of confusing I'm not sure how to word it.

View 8 Replies View Relatedi bought a bold second hand ages ago and it was working fine until one night when i came in to find my phone switched off with 4 shortish/medium flashing red lights in a sequence, hasnt been dropped or waterdamaged and i had no apps on it and the stock os as i only need it for emails and texts. i cant get it to be recognised by the computer and i know the wire isnt faulty as i borrowed my friends 7230 wire (mini usb is the same for both models) and her 7230 and her husbands 9000 is recognised with and without the battery by my pc and hers.ive tried the following:1. battery pull - 1 long red light then the continuous four medium flashes over and over, same when i plug it into a pc (no red light or battery icon at all when plugged in without a battery)2. using desktop manager - nothing happens no device detected3. using the jl_cmder - no device detected4. using apploader by itself - no device detected/ no way to get past the usb/com port screen as the 'next' button is greyed out5. using apploader through command /nojvm - no device detected/no way to get past the usb/com port screen6. quickly switching phones with my friend when her phone is recognised without a battery and a update is prompted, it sort of works by letting me choose the os but then says no device detected
View 8 Replies View RelatedI have had my 9900 for just over a year after upgrade from a 9000. I loved the phone until two weeks ago I did a upgrade to Blackberry Appworld. Once the upgrade completed it asked for a restart and then the phone became a brick. It would not restart and the red light just flashes. After contacting support and following suggestions to try and make the phone connect to the desktop software without success I took the phone back to Rogers who sent it away to the repair shop. The result... not able to be repaired. Somehow this is now the customers problem because something that no one can identify went wrong with the software upgrade process. No support from Blackberry just what Rogers has to offer which is that I can do an early upgrade to another phone for more money.

I plugged it into the wall charger last night as I always do, when I got up this morning the time on the clock showed 2.08am even though it was 5.45am, I unplugged the charger and the screen went black. I couldn't turn it on. I removed the battery and put it back in again and still the same, just won't switch on. The LED is flashing 1pause 1,2,3 pause 1, rather than a consistent flashing like when you have a message waiting.I have tried plugging the charger back into it but still nothing, just completely black screen and won't switch on.

After updating the Blackberry App World software and rebooting the device, the red light began flashing as soon as the phone turned back on even though there were no new notifications, and no updates required. The pictures were fixed but the LED light that flashes when there's an alert won't stop flashing. It flashes red several times then stops for a minute or two then flashes again. Does anyone know how to fix this so it will stop flashing? I've tried to pull the battery again and even just reset the phone but it won't stop its driving me insane!
View 6 Replies View RelatedYesterday I was waiting for an important call but needed a shower so I took my phone into the bathroom and put it in a dry safe place where I would hear it ring if need be. It did so I quickly jumped out of the shower, dried hands and answered a message. Few minutes later when back at my desk at home I realized the bold was behaving weird, key presses were not doing the right function, i.e. a press of the back key brought up jk or other letters on the screen etc.
It did not sustain water damage, at worst my hands were merely damp when used so I just figured pop it down for a while and let it 'dry' (it wasn't wet but you know what I mean, its all I could think of) picked it up maybe 15 minutes later and it appeared to have died. Now, its 15 months old (and was a refurbished handset direct from 02 when I got it so its had a hard life) its been bumped, and not long after I got it I broke the screen (LCD bleed) so I had it repaired which forfeited the warranty, also the trackball has been a constant nightmare to me, it stops working in one or more direction regularly.
I've found the solution to this to be to clean the trackball gently with a q-tip dipped in clear alcohol, after some time this usually works, but a couple of months ago I could not get this to work at all so after 2 weeks of a phone that would not scroll left I had the trackball replaced. I now had issues with the trackball not selecting when I push down but this is got around by using the return key or it does sometimes work if you push hard. So, with this new flashing red light failure I took it back to the place that replaced the screen. They kept it for 24 hours and when I went back to collect it they said it was a component failure and beyond economic repair.
Quite truthfully though I got the impression that they actually just couldn't be bothered as it was a hard job. Came home and started researching, other posts I have read lead me to believe that if the LED comes on in any way all is not lost. My computer does not recognize the phone when I try and connect it via USB, although just now I tried again and windows acknowledged that a device had just been plugged in, but the blackberry software still did not detect anything. What can I try now? I am not tech savvy so it will need to be clearly laid out for idiots.

my blackberry bold 9900 which I´ve had for about 3 months now doesn´t turn on, I´ve read stuff everywhere about bricked or nuked phones, but normally the red light is flashing I think.
