BB Bold :: Unable To Hover Over Phone Number And Select Dial
Jul 17, 2011
I used to be able to hover over a phone number and select "dial". For some reason my new phone won't let me do that. I have to write the number down and dial it manually. I can't even "cut and paste" the number.
I have a BB 9780 with OS 6 Bundle 2949. Since accepting a terms message for Windows Live Messenger I cannot dial a number using numerical keys, I have to go through or enter it into contacts!
I "upgraded" to OS 6.0. Now my BB will not allow me to click on a phone number that I see on the internet and dial it. I have to read the number, memorize it, close the browser, and push in the numbers manually. T-Mobile keeps telling me that it is the webpage that I am on, but it clearly not that. OS 6.0 is quite the downgrade. Can anybody hear any of the lousy notifers that they call ringtones? The helpdesk directs you to buy ringtones from appworld.
I have been trying to click on a several tollfree numbers on a webpage in by browser on by Torch and it does not allow to dial direct..Works fine from a email but not a webpage. Other Blackberry smart phones, Iphone etc are able to just click on the tollfree image and it auto dials the number. Can you tell me if there is something in settings that I must change.url...
My former Android phone had an app that was able to speed dial one of 8 people even when the phone was locked. It appeared on the lock screen and was able to dial one of 8 numbers with a single press and swipe. It dialed based on the direction of the swipe.
Is there something similar for Windows 10 Phone? I'd rather not need to unlock the phone in order to dial one of my most called contacts.
It doesn't have to be an app that behaves exactly like this. Just curious how others have efficiently handled speed-dial.
i can't hold the alt key and select a number or punctuation mark...meaning i can't type the what i want (#, !, ? etc) while holding the alt key (which was the norm before)now, if i have to select/type a number, or punctuation mark, i have to hit the 'alt' key first, and then the number/punctuation mark, which is very annoying as it slows down typing speed.i'm running on OS v5.0.0.296 (platform 5.1.0.82)
I don't know if I'm the only person getting this problem but sometimes while making or receiving a call and the phone press against your face it sometimes dial back the same number on the screen.
I have separated email from SMS/MMS messages. When I select the SMS icon I can see SMS messages from a specific date ~7 days ago, but nothing more recent. When I select View Folder and select SMS Inbox I can see all my SMS messages up until current.Does anyone know how to fix the corrupt SMS/MMS icon (which is presumably pointing to a corrupt view of the SMS Inbox)?
I just got my new Blackberry Bold 9000 and got everything migrated from my old Pearl and I have everything working good except the Blackberry Messenger. I upgraded it to 5.0.0.57 and all I get is the Blackberry Messenger License Agreement and it will not allow me to click on either button, ``I Accept``or ``Ì Do Not Accept`` .Is there something I`m missing or what.... This is very frustrating as it is my only way of communicating while I`m working.

I have a black berry bold 9700 it was provided by orange in uk . now in india with Air tel sim and my local dialing list i am unable to dial from me contacts list. when ever i try to dial a number +44 is outomatically prefixed thus making the number un axexable Example Number in my contact list 9999912345 when t select this and try to dial the which my phone dials is +449999912345
With my Blackberry 9000, I was able to go into the Phone menu and dial by a name in my phonebook contacts. ie: I press: HOME and this entry will show up.With the new Blackberry 9700... Pressing the Alpha keys doesn't do anything. Only the numbers 0 through 9 are working. Is this an option? I can't seem to find where to turn this on.
My touch screen has been playing up for several weeks nowWhen I try to touch the main screen it will select an area to the right of where I am touching, i.e. clicking the dial pad button will actually select the contacts button, clicking 'answer' on the keypad will put the caller on hold etc etc. Other times the scren will not respon at all.
The funny thing is, when I remove the phone's plastic casing, the touch screen works fine! Similarly, if i push the top part of the case to the sides (so it is not in contact with the digitiser) the touch screen will work again until my phone goes on lock and then when I unlock it the touch screen is stuffed again.
I'm not sure if this is a software or hardware problem. On one hand its as if the plastic casing of the phone is rubbing (putting pressure on) against the side of the touchscreen and causing it to not work (hardware) while on the other hand it could be software in that the problem keeps happening everytime the screen goes to sleep (it's not initialising right). The other problem which started at the exact same time is that the green button is not working sometimes when I try to answer calls or turn off my alarm.
Does anyone have any suggestions as to what I should try? I've already done a hard reset. The next step is to buy a new digitizer/plastic case and see if that solves the problem.
the dial tones when typing a phone number on the normal profile of the blackberry is ridiculously loud. You cant keep your headset on or earpiece in without hurting or even damaging your ears. It is extremely annoying to have to take out your earpiece every time you dial someone. Setting the profile to vibrate or silent is no option of course because then you don't hear the phone ring. How do I set the dial tone to silent or much lower volume without reducing the phone ring volume on a BB Bold 9900?
My iPhone 4s doesn't let me dial numbers whenever I start to dial it freezes and the dial tone stays on for about thirty seconds and then it crashes and takes me to home.
Is there a way to dial a contact directly from the Messaging App? For example, I get an SMS message and go to read it. I want to call that person. I have to tap on their name on the top of the screen, then I have to wait, then I am taken to their contact information, where I have to select a number to call. Is there a way to simply call them from the Messaging app without all the other steps? My previous old phone I could just hit the phone button and bingo the phone would call the number. The menu doesn't have a Call contact option, but maybe I'm missing something. What about an add on app that adds the option?
Everytime I dial a number, the back light goes off until the time i disconnect. So if somebody wants any information from me thats stored on my phone, I cant just read it out from the phone. I ll have to wait till the call ends, search for the info and then call them back! Whats the use of call waiting if i cant see who's calling while I am already on another call?
When I enter a number in keypad to call a number the phone vibrates. I turned off Haptic feedback and Vibrate on keypress, but still it vibrates when dial a number?
It is annoying when you select a phone number from your history, contacts, or address book and the Bold auto dials the number. If you select the wrong number from the touch screen the phone auto dials the wrong selected number, and it is easy to do this on a touch screen.
I want to be able to launch the call from the phone call key so I can check the number before it is called. I want to be able to select a phone number and make sure I have the right one before the phone dials.
After recent update my Iphone 4s is connected via bluetooth to my car,I can dial the number from my car but i have to pick up my phone to listen the call.this is only happning after the update.
I am not able to understand the behavior of photons stock dialer application. Say I have 3 gmail contacts with phone numbers listed in order mobile first and Home afterwards:
Mike Mob:XXXXXXX Home:YYYYYYYYY
Dan Mob:AAAAAAAA Home:BBBBBBBBBB
Tim Mob: CCCCCCCCC (set as primary selected) Home: DDDDDDDDDD
To dial Mike from the Dialer, i key in 6453, Its brings up Mike with Home number To dial Dan from the Dialer, i key in 326, Its brings up Dan with Mobile number To dial Tim from the Dialer, i key in 846, Its brings up Tim with Home number
As you can see above the behaviour seems to be random. I want it to always bring up the mobile number. For this I tried couple of things below (did not work):
1. Deleted all contacts from phone and gmail and imported to gmail from csv again ensuring the order of phones listed is correct. I even verified after sync to photon that the order is mobile first and then home for all contacts. 2. Tried setting Mobile number as primary number by pressing the number under contact and setting it as primary (like for Tim above).
Having searched high and low, I am still unclear as to wether my Xoom WiFi is capable of dialing a simple telephone number. This eminates from my asking Speaktoit Assistant to dial a number and she keeps saying that she is unable to find that name in the contact list. I am using GoogleVoice Contacts.
Is the problem that Xoom WiFi can only access numbers that are on an installed microSDHC card?
I do not have one of these cards to install yet. If someone can tell me if Xoom WiFi can do this, please tell me what I need to do.
Since Yesterday my phone all of a sudden wont dial out. The moment you dial it beeps and says "Call disconnected". All other functions like receiving calls and applications are working. The problem is not with the SIM, I tried it in a different phone and it works perfectly. My phone operator says on their side everything is perfect.
How do I create a speed dial number? Meaning I press one button and the phone dials (my wife!). I can't find it in the manual and have tried looking under every setting. I thought it existed in the contacts area as an option for the contact but I don't see it there now.
I just found a problem with my Bionic today. I was trying to access my voicemail and had to hit the number 1 on the dial pad during a call to enter my mailbox number.
The number 1 would not do anything during the call. All other numbers worked. If I kept trying to press the number 1 the screen would go black for a second then return with the dial pad. A factory reset did not cure it.
I went to a local Verizon store and the person there told me that this is a known issue and it only happens when the volume is up full. He then said that I have to put the volume down to 1/2 in order for the number 1 to work properly during a call
I called Motorola when I returned home and was told that this is not a known issue - they never heard of it.
Researching on Google and this Forum I have found others that have had this same issue. I have not heard of any resolution yet.
Both Motorola and Verizon Phone Tech Support recommended replacing the phone. Verizon Tech Support was supposed to call me back in an hour after my call with them to see what I wanted to do but never did. I was supposed to keep trying the number 1 after they had me force stop and clear the dialer and virtual keyboard. The problem still exists.
I only have a matter of hours before my 14 days is up at Verizon at which point I will be given a refurbished phone. For some reason I could not log onto this forum today to post this. I just now got in.
Do any other owners of the Bionic experience this? I don't want to replace the phone if they all do it. It's down to the wire now!
