Samsung :: I760 / Need Power Connected To Turn On Even With Full Charge
Apr 24, 2010Sometimes when I need to reboot/reset my i760 (Winmob 6.1, Spb Shell) it will not finish the boot cycle. I turn it on, I get the Samsung logo, the dark blue static Verizon wireless screen, then it about a half a second into the next screen (where the Verizon wireless logo "floats" down to a light blue screen) the system powers off. You can just see the red check in the logo start to draw and head down and the system just goes off.I thought I had solved it by pulling the battery for about 30 seconds, but now that doesn't fix the problem anymore. The only way to make the phone power on is to connect it to a power source (charger or cradle). Then it powers on normally.It does not matter the charge on the battery at the moment - I've had it do it any charge level, including 100% just off a overnight charge. This battery will normally last me 2 days of hard use.Any ideas?

BB Bold :: Full Battery Says Drained But Still Full?
Jun 29, 2011i have a blackberry bold 9700 v 5.0.0.862 ( bundle 1446, platform 5.1.0.175 I fully charged my battery monday night, unplugged it before going to sleep.When i woke up the phone was turned off, when i turned on i got a white screen with a battery with a red line through it but no blackberry loading screen.I didn't know what was wrong so i plugged phone in to charge a bit. when there was no change i unplugged it and held the power button. After many many many attempts to turn it back on finally i got the BB loading screen.The battery had full power when I finally got it turned back on.I used the phone throughout the day but come suppertime the battery was still full so i went to a friends. Halfway through dinner the phone displayed " BATTERY DRAINED TURNING OFF HANDHELD " .
Got home plugged in, turned back on and battery was 50%. I charged it to 100% and unplugged it before going to sleep. Woke up this morning to ringing phone i answered it had the chance to say hello then it displayed " BATTERY DRAINED TURNING OFF HANDHELD " !!! Went to turn back on got the battery screen again , finally after an hour or more of trying to turn back on it finally loaded and guess what?? THE BATTERY IS SITTING AT 100%!!I don't know what's going on but my phone keeps saying the battery is drained and the phone turns off but the battery is still full.

Nov 3, 2014I have an htc one max and my power button is broken, it has 0 response or feedback the last few days. at first it was stuck with the power down options continuously popping up, but not its just completely unresponsive, the button itself isnt broken or pushed in but their is just no feedback at all, i had to even get an app so i can unlock and lock my device. and my phone died and i had it on the charger for a few hours and nothing still a black screen..dead. so i connect it to my computer and it just keeps connecting and disconnecting before it can even install the software to recognize it.

Jul 11, 2010I haven't seen anyone having this issue out of the numerous ones I've seen on this site. My iPhone 4's screen was sometimes going black. Hitting the home or power button wouldn't turn it back on. I'd have to hold down the home and power buttons to do a hard reboot to get it back up.
I returned my phone yesterday to get replaced because I was also having the No SIM Card Installed error. My new iPhone 4 is having the same black screen issue occasionally, though.

IPhone 5 Not Charging But Will Power On If Turn Phone Off
Sep 8, 2014for a couple of weeks now the connection on my iPhone 5 has been bad when trying to charge. It would constantly connect and then disconnect straight away until you got it into a very still position where the cable or the phone would not be touched. Now the phone has stopped charging altogether. I have checked the charging port to see if there is any lint but there is none in there. The strange thing is that if you turn the phone off, and then plug the cable into the phone it recognize it and then will turn on.I have got a genius bar appointment in the next couple of days but will have to go without a phone until then, and it is also out of warranty so I assume apple will try to make me pay for it if it needs fixing. Switching on to an unlocked state using the fingerprint reader is easy. Switching off requires the power button, which means wrestling the damn thing into a position where I can press the button.
I've looked at a few apps that switch off the screen with a shake or gesture, but these always result in a pattern request to unlock fully when turning back on with the fingerprint reader. Looking at this thread, it seems the Nova Launcher double-tap off function results in the same secondary security challenge when switching back on.
I assume this is because the third-party double-tap/shake/gesture event is only turning the screen off, not actually locking the device as the power button would.

Jan 19, 2010I posted a description of a problem I'm having on another BlackBerry forum, and although several suggestions have been offered, no solution has been achieved. Thought I'd try the CrackBerry community to see if I can get the problem solved.After installing updated BlackBerry desktop and device software yesterday, the arrangement of icons on my screen had changed, so I was moving them around to be in the desired locations. In the process of moving the Turn Power Off icon, it simply disappeared instead of showing up in the new location. A responder suggested that it might be hidden and to try Show All. I had no Show All option - just Move, Hide, Add Folder, and Switch Application. Another suggestion was that I might have moved the missing icon to a folder. I have three subordinate folders, and it's not in any of them. It's also no longer on the main "desktop". The next responder said to try a battery pull. That had no effect, and the icon was still missing. The next suggestion was interesting - switch to a different theme, see if the Turn Power Off icon is there, and then switch back to the original theme. I've been using the Verizon theme, so following the suggestion I switched to the BB Dimension Icon theme.
Guess what - a Turn Power Off icon showed up, along with the other icons that were completely scrambled compared to the way I had organized them with the Verizon theme (and there were no subordinate folders). I clicked the icon to power down and then powered up again. The BB Dimension Icon theme was still active, and a Turn Power Off icon was still present. Next I switched back to the Verizon theme. There was no Turn Power Off icon to be found anywhere. I am ready for another suggestion. Can a theme become corrupted? If so, is there a way to refresh it?

Oct 30, 2015It appears that the power button on my Galaxy S6 isn't working anymore. I have faulted this with samsung and they have asked me to send it to them for repair. Today, I was going to back up my phone but my battery went flat before I could do this and now I cant get the phone back on!! Some have suggested holding down the volume up button then plugging in the usb lead while connected to a computer, it didn't work. I have also tried the volume down button and the home button at the same time while plugged in via usb, this didn't work either. how I can get into recovery mode without using the power button, I really need to get the phone back on, the battery is sealed in.
