I am currently abroad in Austria and I am trying to set up internet on my blackberry bold. I have already bought a sim card with Orange AT and paid for an internet plan. However, I still can't get internet on my phone. Data services are on and the sim card is active. My phone is not locked.

The roller ball on my 8900 curve is working as normal however I can't select anything using it whilst using the internet. It is preventing me from using the internet as I can't login etc to anything. View 1 Replies View RelatedSo I just got the new Blackberry Curve 9360 on contract, and I noticed that while I am loading webpages the device gets really warm, mainly the back bottom right corner, near the memory card...when I am finished browsing the internet, and use the phone for texting or BBM the device remains cool. I have googled this but where the device is quite new there is nothing on it, should I try to get a replacement, or is this normal?

It remains connected to WiFi fine.Mail/Safari/App Store/Facebook/any internet based app cannot access the internet.No error screen is shown.The standard WiFi icon and the rotating 'in progress' wheel next to it.Sometimes I can restore the in app internet connection by turning WiFi off and then on again but not always.
So what is going on. I've not changed any setting recently to either my iPhone or router. Both have been working fine for months. My iPad and wife's iPhone are both fine also.

View 1 Replies View Relatedi am planning on unlocking a bold 9700 for use abroad in spain with a vodafone sim card. i understand the unlocking process, but my question is whether or not the phone, which is going to be unlocked from at&t, will have full 3g functionality on vodafone's network in europe. i have heard that phones will work in europe when unlocked, but not necessarily with european 3g if they have previously been locked to at&t.
View 14 Replies View RelatedLast year my Verizon 9930 and this year my wife's ATT 9900 stopped working after a few days of use overseas. Under both circumstances the phones were perfectly fine for the first few days after which the keyboards became unresponsive (delayed response, not being able to unlock, reboots). Battery pulls did not change anything. Interestingly you could see the email count going up so the phones were connecting. 24 hours after retuning to the US both phones worked as if nothing happened.

I was told by friends to turn off roaming when away in order to stop emails, facebook updates and the like coming through on my phone and therefore resulting in a large bill. I emailed my network provider Vodafone but they have responded by saying in order to receive/make texts/calls I have to have roaming switched on?! Is there any way of enabling texts/calls without having constant emails and facebook updates etc coming through? I don't understand why so many people would use Blackberry if you can't switch off these things and just use phone as standard like you can on all other makes of phone to my knowledge.

I've asked around and all people can say is to delete the email accounts from my phone and then set them up again on my return. I will be going on vacation and to avoid the ridiculous roaming data charges, was wondering how I can connect to BIS over wifi? I have a BB data plan with my carrier (Rogers). I just want to be able to receive e-mails and use BBM when I'm connected via wifi while I'm away. I'm guessing that if I set "Data Services" to On and "While Roaming" to Off, under Mobile Network Options, this would NOT work, correct? Or am I mistaken?

I go back in to full signal and I never get them until I ask the person to send another sms, at which point I get all the backlogged ones from that person. I still am waiting to receive sms from a friend who sent it over a week ago.

I backed up my old BB Curve last week before I went into town to get the new BB Bold.When I came home I did the switching devices thing on my computer with both phones.They both have separate memory cards in but the Curve had all my old stuff; camera pics, voice notes and vids.Since backing up the Curve or switching devices to the Bold all that has disappeared!I thought that was the whole point of backing up something was to not loose it all, but it seems to have done exactly that! I can only assume that all of those were saved on the memory card not the phone, but I'm not sure, what is the default setting, and why it has disappeared in the first place!

Every time Iam on phone it keeps switching between handset and headset auto and very fast so it keeps cutting every second I installed new bbm .65 everythink working fine then I mistakely downloaded .57 cancelled it when I rebooted phone no bbm, so I reinstalled .65 bbm and it was really laggy and slow so I reinstalled it again and now that is happening to my phone?
