BB Bold :: Lost Maps And Gps App?
Sep 21, 2012I have a bold 9900 (on Rogers) and have lost the resident mapping/GPS app. How do I get it back. I tried BB Maps but got a message saying my device does not support the app.

BB Bold 9700 :: Maps & Diagonal Lines - Cannot Access Maps
Jan 23, 2010I have owned a Curve 8310, a Bold 9000, and now a Bold 9700. I have never been able to get Maps to work! I am always showing diagonal lines. I am on O2, I am connected to a BES server, other users on my BES can access Maps but I cannot. I know the GPS works as it locates me but the data downloaded always shows 0.0kb and all I have is them annoying diagonal lines.

Jan 7, 2012I lost my map application on nokia 500 and I can't get it back, first I experienced a problem with the check in service now the whole application is goneeven though I downloaded nokia maps v 3.08 from the internet and after installing it it wont open idk what else to do

Mar 24, 2010I have been using an N900 for more than a month now and I had an iph0ne 2g before. Yesterday, I was trying to locate a place (London) using Ovi maps and I got completely lost. I never had such a problem before with google maps which pinpoint my location much more precisely (using EDGE) than Ovi maps using GPS. It might be that I am just dumb but has anyone had the same experience? how can I make Ovi maps more precise? using 3g instead of GPS?Many thanks for your time reading this and your reply if any.

Jul 16, 2010I tried to update my maps definition by checking on Ovi Suite on my PC via USB. Some updated maps were available, but during the update, I've lost the connection with USB. From now, there is no "cities" folder on E: and Ovi Suite can't upload new maps. So I have Ovi maps working but without any Maps ! It says my memory card is full, but there is 28Go available!

Aug 6, 2010It used to work great, but now the bb maps app can't find any gps (except once in a while it works?!?!?).I've wiped the device, exchanged it, r&r'd the maps app, still no go. Google maps finds my location instantly, but bbmaps does not. I've reset the gps info and it consistently sees 5 - 9 satellites (sees 8 right now), still bbmaps is a no go.

I've searched for it by going Options>Applications>Add-on and it appears and gives me a choice to delete it should I want to, so I know it's on there. I manged to update it to latest version, v5.0.0.593 (platform 5.1.0.1470). now im trying to get access to the app store and maps but have not got the icons in my menu. BB Bold :: 9930 Not Showing Maps?
Jul 26, 2010I am using a Blackberry Bold 9930 without the camera smart phone. This is purchased from [URL] and the phone is of Verizon wireless USA.
All is good with the phone except issues with the GPS functionality. The phone does not show any maps and the screen is blank once clicked on the "Maps" icon. Also the phone is not showing and guidance with voice assistance and the map display. I am using Vodafone IN as the service provider.
BB Bold :: Maps Disappears After OS Upgrade 5.x
Jun 26, 2012Recently upgrade my BB OS from 5.x to 6 series... immediately after the upgrade noticed Maps had disappeared, right clicking contacts and view on map throws a location not found error... using the built in search from the home screen shows nothing.
From Blackberry Desktop I can see Blackberry Maps 6.0 listed as installed, when I try and install OTA from bb.com I get a Java error though I can see the Blackberry Maps 6.1 Installer listed in installed applications. I have tried removing Blackberry Maps 6.0 prior to installing OTA, with no change in behavior. I have also tried downgrading the OS with minimal applications installed again no change in behavior.Seems to be the only application I have issues with.

Jul 13, 2011I recently purchased a BlackBerry Bold 9780. When I go to the Application Administration I do see that BlackBerry Maps is installed. It also gives the version. But I am not able to see it anywhere in the Menu or even in the search.
Is this something to do with the service provider? I admit I do not yet have a data plan, but I believe it should not need a data plan as it has GPS in-built.

Oct 9, 2011I am having the same problem then other bold 9900 users, lot of new 9900 Bold are being shipped with the proprietary Black Berry maps (v6.1.0.24) not working at all...Actually, my maps aren't (icon missing) on my menu after an blackberry update through DM(v 7.? -> OS v7.0.0.296, PF 5.0.0.496) but if I search for them I can find them but and when I open it :- I just get a white screen - and It says "unknown error" when I try to find a location. I did the uninstall and reinstall of BB-Maps through DM and still having the same problem.
