View 3 RepliesI've been wondering for a long time on how to get my Home screen to look like the one in the picture below (inside yelllow circle). The Home screen on my Blackberry Bold 9780 doesn't have the descriptions under each icons (for example; Text Messages icon has TEXT MESSAGES written under it), but this one (in the picture) from Blackberry website has it. i've been looking for the settings, but couldn't seem to find it. I hope someone could tell me how to do it.

View 5 Replies View Relatedi've had this happen to my 8900, and thought there was something wrong with the phone, but after doing a official update from t-mobile on mt 9700 the same thing happens. whe doing a battery pull and the phone reboots. only on the main screen (the screen with all the apps and folders) the screen is completely blank or white and the only way i can see the folders or apps is by highlighting them. only happened after i updated it and only happens when doing a battery pull, once i reset the wall paper it will be fine until i do another battery pull. i already uninstalled and reinstalled my blackberry desktop and try to reload and that didn't fix it. anyone had this issue or know how to fix it.

I don't know if it is something new because I came from an old 8330. I used to hit menu and if I hit menu again the menu would go away.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI'm a n00b so I apologize in advance, but I just bought my Blackberry Bold and really dig this phone. However, I want to add more icons to the home screen other than the 5 that are currently on there. How do I do this? I am currently using the "Widescreen HD 9700 O550" theme (which looks really nice).I just switched over from the G1/Android OS so I am still learning my way around the Blackberry.
View 4 Replies View RelatedJust discovered my home screen is blank, so I thought I had accidentally changed/moved it when I turned on "Easy Mode" to check that out. Switched back to "Standard Mode", but found my home screen gone, with a blank page in it's place. I found some directions on how to move pages around, making one a home screen. I selected the page I wanted as home screen and moved it to the page where the white house icon is highlighted. I was done but noticed nothing had changed. Home page still blank, so I did it again. I find that whenever I try creating my home screen page by moving it to the highlighted white house icon, the white house icon shifts to the left, remaining blank.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI am very new to apple, never been a big fan but I could not rap my head around the droid OS. So in my sweep through the settings menu to get acquainted with the settings I discovered the triple-Click home options, and after messing with them I found that I had a use for all the settings so my natural instinct is to just try the ask setting. And to my dismay I find that AssistiveTouch is not a selection, so here I find myself asking this question...

A few days ago I switched to another phone for a few days and I left my Bold with its battery removed for a day or two. When I restarted my Bold 9700, I've been unable to see or act on the home screen or apps screen. However, the phone is still working (push on the green button and the phone screen pops up), same with the long press on blackberry key.
I did search to do a reset of my handset but I can't find a way to do it knowing that I can't access the menus.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have a Bold 9700 for personal use and a Bold 9000 for work. On my 9700 there is an option to change my home screen layout from "Zen" (which seems to be the default setting) to "Today" which lists my messages and calendar on my home screen. Obviously this would be much more useful on the handheld I use for work but I cannot seem to find this layout option on my 9000. Is it available?
View 13 Replies View RelatedBasically I have just lost my job and have to keep a real close eye on money. So I am writing everything down as a memo on my BB.Is there a way to set this memo as a home screen so I am always concious of what I am spending? lol. When I had a Sony Erricson many moons ago you could set a memo as home screen and you could still see the picture I had set as the home screen but you could faintly see the text over the image if that makes sense?
I am hesitant to change one of the Shortcut Keys on the side to Memo Pad because I use them a lot for camera and calendar.
I have a BBM alert for one BBM message on my homescreen, although I have no messages.

I recently upgraded from a Bold 9700 to the new Bold 9900.On the 9700, I could set my desktop theme to display upcoming calendar entries at the bottom of my home screen / desktop.I can't seem to figure out a way to do this with my new phone.
View 4 Replies View RelatedGot a new Bold today. On the BB I replaced, when I opened the homescreen, six icons appeared along the bottom. If I wanted to see all my icons I clicked the bear claw and they all showed up (so, one click). On my Bold, six icons appear along the bottom when I open it, as well, but in order to see all my icons, I now have to click the bear claw, then click "open tray," so twice the number of clicks - a small but really annoying difference. Can you tell me how I can avoid that first step and automatically open the "tray" when I click the bear claw when I am on on the homepage?
