Galaxy S6 :: How To Tell Invalid IMEI
Jun 19, 2015I just activated a phone on Straight Talk. Voice works but when I did the APN settings, I'm still getting no data. The lock screen displays "Invalid IMEI" which goes away when I type in my pin. This is a 920F (International Unlocked). Is it even possible to have a bad IMEI on a new phone ?
One side question, I bought this on eBay listed as new. It looks new but the metal rim has a section that's got a bit of shine in the otherwise matte finish. It made me suspicious it wasn't as new as the seller said. The screen cover appeared to be placed back on the phone. I know I wouldn't be the first person to buy a "New" phone which was not. Were your S6's uniform in the texture of the metal edge ?

I did use the 8MP settingas this phone actually takes decent pictures(at least from the look on the screen) and I would like to use them?

Jul 25, 2011Recently i recovered my blackberry which was reported lost to my carrier (o2 uk) I rang them back up to unblock it and they said with blackberrys i have to allow up to 90 days before it is unblocked again. Has this ever been the case with anyone else and does it usually take this long?

Apr 23, 2010OK so i feel like i have tried everything and i cant seem to find my BB bold 9000's IMEI number anywhere! I bought and used this Blackberry new in South Korea with SK Telecom, never any issues.but now im back in the US and am wanting to unlock and use it here.the only problem is that i cant find the IMEI number anywhere.when i try *#06# it comes up and says "unsupported file"and options> status shows only:
signal
battery
file free
PIN
IP address
now there IS a white sticker under the battery with a barcode and appears to be 15 digits long, BUT it has a few letters mixed with the numers and something tells me thats not it?

Jul 17, 2012Is there anything I can do about this or is my phone resigned to a paper weight? I tried multiple times with the code my old carrier issued me and it has not worked and now won't let me try again.
PS, blackberry WTF is the deal with the size of the font for the PIN and IMEI under the battery? Nobody can read the ridiculous size 2 font.

Aug 8, 2012I recently updated my blackberry software. EVerything worked fine, I has no problem updating. When I put my new sim card in (brand new sim, never been used), my phone registerd me on the verizon wireless network, even though I am livning in south africa with a south african sim card. I can send sms and make phone calls, but that it is! Before I did my sim swop and system update, everythin worked fine on this phone. I cant bbm, use the internet etc etc.I have tried everything. Tried to resend registerstation message, manually connected to 3G vodacom network and resent registration msg. I have called my service provider. I have rebooting. I even tryed restoring data from a recent backup i did when my phone worked, and that did nothing. EVERYTHING, and im on my final straw. I just want a working phone.

Jul 29, 2010I've been having issues with my calls failing for about a week or two now. It doesn't happen every phone call. But when it does, it seems to be at the 0:22 or 2:00 mark of the call. Quite strange. Once it happens, it continues every call afterward until i do a battery pull.
And since I updated to 5.0.0.681 a couple days ago, twice or three times it's said "Invalid SIM Card" and I have to reboot my phone. Not sure the reasoning behind this. I saw a couple threads in the Storm and Curve boards but, didn't see any solutions. So, thought I'd ask here to see if anyone else has had similar issues.

BB Bold 9700 :: Upgraded Bb9700 Prompts Sim Card Is Invalid
May 25, 2010I am trying to upgrade my BB Bold 9700 via the blackberry automatic web site. I also have downloaded the 9700 software from TMobile. I have upgraded and restored my BB9700 3x now and each time after upgrading, it prompts that my SIM card is invalid, and thus I do not get any service. I can restore my BB9700 to an older version, then everything works just fine. I don't get why I am unable to upgrade to the newest 5.0 software though?
I've tried the upgrade via the Desktop Software...
I've tried the upgrade via the Blackberry Website auto update button...
I've tried the upgrade via TMobile's bbugrade site as well...
All tries do the same, my SIM card after the upgrades is "Invalid"...Does anyone have any answers on how to fix this, or do I have to stay with the older versions to keep my phone working.

May 28, 2010Made the huge leap from a crappy reg phone to the 9700 a month ago. Its been sweet till all the errors started happeneing. Was hoping someone could help me out.
Here are symptoms as I've noticed them:
1) Wouldn't get audible notifications anymore. Now alerts, no alarms, no rintones,no nothing. Went to my ringtone/alert settings and did "TRY IT" to test a sound. The message I got was something about invalid filename. I got this msg even for sounds native to the bb device!
I did a battery pull, then all was good
2) Same issue kept re-occuring and also noticed my battery would be 75% full when I went to bed. Then like RED (5%) when I woke up. The device was also HOT! I battery pull again. Voila! (Until the next time it happens)
3) Press voicedial button. Then it says "scanning contacts, please wait" it gets to 100% and does nothing. Even after an hour.
Anyone know whatts going on? The only thing I changed during this time frame was the SD card (2GB to 8GB). So I switched back to the old card. Issues still exist. I even deleted soduku (buddy told me to try this) but it didn't help.

Sep 8, 2010So when I go to memory under the options menu, it says under Device memory that "Device memory cannot be read. Try to repair or format." Consequently I cannot see my pictures, etc because of this. Is the way to format it just to wipe my phone?
