I lock my keyboard out by using the top button and then slide the phone into the holder (a real blackberry holder). It will frequently redial the last number. This shouldn't happen. Software is current, any suggestions? The phone is NOT password protected.

Generally I'm quite happy with the phone. I did however experience a problem yesterday where my phone (without my knowledge) was not taking incoming calls. I had a meeting with somebody who said that they'd tried to call my several times.
When we met he tried again and the phone did not ring and worse still the answering machine did not cut in. My phone was showing a full signal. I switched off the phone, removed the battery for a moment and then switched back on and it was fine? As a business user, this is very worrying. How many calls did I miss for the morning? Has anybody else experienced this? I had been using the OVI Navigation that morning?
I have a new blackberry that came with my 3 contract here in italy. I am allowed 1 hour per day to make calls....not receive. I want to know how I can track the calls i have made. Where does it show up on my screen to access it. Most phones have a categaor "calling" ....a history. Where do i find this on my blackberry? I am not a tech person so i am having difficulty

I upgraded from a Sony XP to a z5 compact white, yesterday, however when i make or recieve phone calls, the phone effectively freezes.screen goes black, even when calls finished!!!
This is especially annoying as the same problem blighted my XP and is one of the main reasons i chose to upgrade as was struggling with ram issues anyway.
Brand new phone, and having the exact same issues.

If I have received calls from my wife, I am unable to view the log of calls. All I can view is the latest one.
I used to have a 6300 where I could view all the occassions.
We have two iPhone 3GSs in the household, my dads and my moms.I installed iOS4 on both. And both seem to freeze, lock up, drop calls, have occasional weird glitches far more frequently than they did on 3.1.2 (3.1.3 caused issues as well but not as frequently as on iOS4) Sometimes, the lock screen doesn't unlock and the my slide to unlock it isn't recognized (fixed by hard rebooting the phone).
One time the phone froze completely on the Contacts menu.I'm wondering if the proximity sensor might be glitching and causing some of these dropped calls as well.iOS4 is awesome, don't get me wrong. But my parent's getting glitches is annoying as hell. They were hesistant about going with a smartphone instead of a simple flip phone already, and this isn't helping. Is anyone else having these issues or similar ones?Did Apple screw the pooch when it comes to bug testing the new OS?I wish Apple would just let us go back to 3.1.2 on our iPhones. That worked flawlessly where as the subsequent versions all have serious issues.
Either when making a call or receiving one, the screen goes black so you can't answer or hang up. Pressing any of the keys makes no difference whatsoever.
Once the caller cancels the call, the screen lights back up. It happens whether the keypad is locked or not.
Really strange, it's only intermittent but really annoying when you can't answer your phone?

Previously when I click on the top button of the mobile my phone goes into "Password mode" locking which means you can't unlock the device unless you enter the password. But after the update, clicking the button will only lock the keyboard and anyone can unlock it by clicking the same button.
ive only had this phone just over a month and its started just locking itself, i keep pressing unlock, sometimes i have to press it several times before it responds. it has spurts of constantly locking itself after i unlock it again, and then hours where it will be okay, and then suddenly start again!

I was travelling with a friend who is using Storm 2. We were comparing our devices and founf that at certain area the Storm 2 signal is on 3G with the bb logo but my Bold 9700 signal shows EDGE. But when I change the option at Mobile Network to 3G only, my Bold 9700 is able to lock the signal to 3G, however when I change back Mobile Network to 3G & 2G it goes back o EDGE (not immediately though).
I am currently running OS .680.... Is there a fix to the problem above or it is a known Bold 9700 issue or a known .680 issue. I have not try this with previous OS so not sure if it will acted differently.Any opinion. Am considering downgrading the OS but will wait for feedback first.

So what has been happening happening over the past month or so is the device starts to lock up and not respond for up to 40 sec then corrects itself. Other times I will get an uncaught error or exception error. I have to keep pulling the battery out and resetting the device about 3 times a day at least.

View 14 Replies View RelatedI recently updated my Blackberry 9700 and ever since it's not as it used to be. I used to press the top left to lock button to lock it. When I did this the screen would dim, but now when I press the shortcut key the screen goes black. Then if I press the shortcut key again it unlocks it straight away even though I have the password option on. Before, regardless of which ever key I pressed it would always ask for a password. Now, the only time it asks for the password is when I take it out of the holster. This is really annoying me.Is this something that i can change or do i have to do a restore??
View 17 Replies View RelatedI have been a BB lover for years. My Curve 5320 served me well and I loved it. When the new Bold 9700 was released I was one of the first to get it b/c businesses were offered the opportunity to get it before individuals. I was so excited about 3G, it's sleek look, etc. My excitement has officially crashed and burned. When placing calls it will fail repeatedly before even dialing the number. It will fail during calls up to 5 and 6 times in a few minute period, which is HORRIBLE during business calls. It will lock up when I'm trying to move between apps, it will spontaneously shut itself off. I'm feeling like my BB is possessed. This is my second 9700. The first the E key would stick or repeat 20 times on a text and the calls would fail, so they diligently sent me a new one. Thankfully, I no longer have to edit every text for 100 e's (i'm stopping @ theeeeeee storeeeeeeeeeee is theeeeeeereeeeeee anything you neeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeed), but the failed calls thing is really pissing me off! Also, the volume on calls is really low in comparison to my Curve. To top it off, the 3G speed seems as slow as, if not slower than my former EDGE. I am hoping and praying that a software upgrade will fix all of these issues, but if it doesn't are there any suggestions as to what i can do? Other than switching to an iPhone? I for one happen to love my Qwerty keyboard and am not exactly fond of the on-screen keyboards.

So I just got an iPhone yesterday , to make an apple ID I used my email address.It told me the email is already in use , even though I never made an apple ID before but anyway it told me to change the password for it ,So I went and did that but it seemed like somebody else had been already using my email address as their apple ID because when I went into manage account , firstly the name was totally different , the address was Canada's and a phone number was there too and security questions were asked in French.Now that sort of freaked me out, has someone hacked my email address or what ? And why would they use my email address as their apple ID why couldn't they use their own ? Btw I didn't change any information on the account yet just Incase I had to report it to apple ( and I'm still not able to use it as my apple ID)

View 9 Replies View RelatedI have an IMAC, 2008 intel model. It accepts all DVDs I have but will not load some DVD's I just had made from VHS tapes. The company says that their MACs load the discs ok and they local apple store loads them ok. They also load on my windows XP machine ok. But on my IMAC they go in the slot grind a little and then are ejected again. Anybody got a solution to this?
