BB Bold :: Change Wireless Synchronization Field In Contacts?
Jul 28, 2010
Blackberry 9700 . i have changed my email address i want to synchronize my 'contacts' with this address instead of my old mail address using wireless synchronization. How do i do it?
I'm trying to synchronize the contacts on my BB Bold 9780 with the desktop software. However it says that I need to turn off the wireless synchronization option on my device. I've gone to contacts, but I simply can't find any wireless synchronization option.
My wireless synchronization with my gmail contacts stopped working. When I change a contact on my BB or in my gmail contacts the 2 don't get synchronized. They used to. I even get an email from BB telling me that it stopped and I should change to Yes in my contacts list under my gmail account, but after checking it is set up to Yes. What changed? what should I do?I have a 9700 from Telus
How do I synch the contacts from my Berry to my google gmail account? When I go to my contacts and use options I have a contact list of unknown which has my contacts that I use for my bold. When I go to the unknown list under Wireless Synchronization it is grayed out and says unavailable. I can't figure out how to synch them. I want to back up my contacts online/gmail and be able to download them to future phones.
every time I try to turn off wireless synchro in any one of calendar, contacts etc, after I press menu>options, I get a screen that says Home Screen Preferences
I have a BB Bold 9700. The OS is V6.0.0.526. I have read numerous posts about where to find this option, but none of them work for this phone/OS combination.
How do I disable wireless synchronization for my BB 9700 Bold? I recently updated my device OS to 50.1 and I can't synch my contact normally as it states that wireless synch is configured for contacts.

I am attempting to synchronize my Bold 9780 with outlook calendar by wireless network. The instructions to enter calendar application, press the BB button, go to options and select or deselect the wireless sync option would be fine - IF there was a wireless sync option to be selected or deselected.
I have the BB 9650 with OS 6.0. I've been trying to sync my Calendar via my BB Desktop, but it isn't working because it says that I need to Turn Off the Wireless Sync function. I tried to followed the below instructions as indicated but after I click Options, steps 3,4,5, and 6 are not available. In the contact list, a calendar, the task list, or the memo list, press the 2. Click Options3. To synchronize calendar entries, click a calendar.4. Change the Wireless Synchronization field to Yes.5. Press the menu Key 6. Click Save
I have a BB Bold 9780. I have been trying for sometime to find a solution to customize the 'Phone Numbers' field of 'Contacts'. The 'Phone Numbers' field has following sub fields- Mobile, Mobile 2, work, Work 2, Home, Home 2, Other, Work Fax, Home Fax and Pager. Is there someway I can customize them to my requirement? Is there an app or a software upgrade to customize these frozen fields to whatever I want?
Yesterday I upgraded my Bold 9000 to Bold 9900. The transition went smooth, with one exception - the Notes field size in Contacts is much smaller than in Bold 9000 and the text in that field got truncated.. I keep customer service logs in that field and the major reason for upgrading was the possibility of fast scrolling to the end of the Notes field to add new records. Now this purpose is irrelevant since the data entered in this field in Bold 9000 doesn't even fit in it in Bold 9900. If I don't find a workaround, I will have to revert to my Bold 9000 and return the new device.
I just bought a 9930 Bold an am trying to sync my contacts from Microsoft Outlook using Blackberry Desktop Software. I can only sync about half of them and then I get a message " Synchronization Error - An error has occurred during an attempt to access a file on the computer". The sync was working perfectly with my old 9650 Bold. I am able to sync calendar, notes and tasks O.K. but just have this problem with the contacts.
I just got a new Bold 9900, and set it up with 3 email accounts (hotmail, gmail, and my school's email). When I set up the accounts, I chose to not import any contacts. I have since double checked this under email setup to make sure they are not being synchronized. However, when I compose a message on my phone, a list of "contacts" appears as I type - so if I start with an "M", a list of contacts that start with M appear underneath. My problem is that some of these are not contacts I have specifically added on the blackberry (i.e. they are from my other email accounts), and others are not even contacts, but merely people who have sent me an email once before (such as a company I once bought a product from).I know this isn't a huge problem, but it is really bothering me, and I think it's a bit strange to see a list of people who are not on any contact list I have. I had a Curve for 3 years until now, and never had this problem.
Need to turn off wireless synch in my Contacts-followed the BB instructions-Can't find the Wireless Synchronization field to change or clear. Desperately need to psych COntacts in BB with PC as I have many duplicates.
I am trying to turn off wireless synchronisaiton of my address book on BES but it is not allowing me to do so. I have gone to CONTACTS > OPTIONS > DESKTOP > WIRELESS SYNCHRONISATION > SELECTED "NO" > WHEN I COME TO PRESS "SAVE" IT DOESNT ALLOW IT. IF I TRY TO EXIT IT STATES "CHANGES MADE! SAVE/DISCARD/CANCEL". If i select "SAVE". It doesnt allow me to exit and doesnt take effect?
Using Desktop Manager to syncronise. Somehow the wireless synchronisation of the address book has been turned on. I want to turn it off again. all it tells me is I can turn it on or off.
I had to reinstall my OS a couple weeks ago. I installed the official 5.0.0.328 from Verizon, and now for some reason, my contact lists aren't syncing with my Gmail account. I went into the settings to try to enable it, but the option is grayed out (it says that Wireless Synchronization is Not Available). What happened, and how do I fix my problem? I appreciate any help. BTW I have two GMail accounts on my phone so I don't want to use Google Sync.
I got a new BB 9700 Bold yesterday and having problems with setting up the sync for the calendar and the contacts which are on my outlook. My hotmail email accounts are working okay. The outlook is on my PC and is the front face for my hotmail accounts.
When I go in to the BB Desktop device manager - version 5.0.1 (latest version) , I go in to the configure option on the left and it lets me click on calendar> then I select outlook and it then lets me select 'finish'. However at this stage an error box flashes up saying 'no available message stores'. In addition when I check the wifi config on the calendar and contacts icons on the BB device it will not let me select yes on the wireless connection for them.
With previous Nokia phones I have been able to create names against phone numbers, necessary when I may have 6 or more phone numbers for one contact.
It seems impossible to do this with the E7-00, so I now have a list of phone numbers per contact and no way of telling the difference between each number.
My Galaxy S5 synchronises with my Outlook contacts (via Microsoft Exchange). On the Galaxy, the notes field in Contacts seems to have a size limitation, and will only show ~1,000 characters, truncating any information beyond that and preventing me from editing or adding information via the handset. This is annoying as many of my contact records contain far more than 1,000 characters of information in the notes field. Any way of removing the size limitation? Alternatively is there some 3rd party application that synchronises seamlessly with Outlook contacts via Microsoft Exchange?
I am considering purchasing a BB Tour 9630.I use the Notes field of MS Outlook contacts extensively. Some of my notes per contact are over 10,000 characters in length. My Palm Treo 700p allows me to view/edit these long notes. Can the notes field of the BB contact manager handle this many characters or will it be truncated to a shorter length? I am a small operation not using an Exchange Server. Also, do I need any other device software than what comes with the BB to sync with my PC's local Outlook PST?
The S6 is my second Android phone. First was an LG G2. I'm noticing my Exchange contact notes are truncated on the S6. Seems to display first 1000 characters only. My G2 did not exhibit this limitation.
I did some searching around on this subject and it seems to be a common Samsung complaint.
My workaround so far has been to use the Outlook app when I need all notes for a given contact. This workaround is somewhat inconvenient and I'd like to find a better way to natively manage Contacts.
About every second time I synchronize my N96 with both my PC and my contacts on ovi.com, ovi suite states an error. ("Synchronization failed ...")
In general, synchronizing contacts between ovi suite and ovi.com is taking ages.
I think reliabiliy and speed of this feature still needs A LOT of improvement...
(Although that applies to some other features as well... for example bluetooth connection, which is completely useless for me: /t5/Nokia-Ovi-Suite/bluetooth-sync-extremely-slow/m-p/656359)
