I bought a 9930 non-camera phone however Airtel data services are not working. Airtel says, it's a technical glitch in the server and they have escalated the issue to RIM with no definite ETR. I have paid a huge amount for the phone and unable to use it.

I popped in my SIM and went to host routing services clicked "register" optionNothing, is there something I need to do? The orange customer service is pathetic as they have NO idea what theyre doing, Ive called countless of times and they keep telling me to pull the battery and it should work and nothing yet. Do they need to do something with service books? or what do I need to do?The people at orange keep telling me to do a battery pull(which Ive done SO many times I'm afraid its gonna damage the phone) and I keep registering the host routing service but nothing. I still havent received anything.
View 4 Replies View RelatedMy internet was working fine till yesterday but suddenly stopped working. I see a 'H' next to network indicator. The same used to be G/3G earlier. My APN settings are fine. "airtelgprs.com" and have tried restarting my phone but to no effect.
Is there are way around this?
From what I have read online, H stands for 3.5 G...so if in my settings I select "highest connection speed" as 3G, will it work with 'H'?
Please help...not able to get emails. No Wifi available so can't download the "network setup" app also to resolve.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI just received a brand new blackberry 9930 and it is not working with the SIM card I have in the phone. I live in Jamaica and I am using a Digicel SIM card. The original carrier of the phone is Sprint. The phone is unlocked and I have the MSL code and I inserted it and the phone rebooted and nothing changed.What I see on the main screen of the phone is "SOS" in the top right-hand corner and sometimes "searching for GSM" comes up and then it goes back to SOS and if I try to dial a number it starts to say "the call could not be connected, try again".When I go into the "Mobile Network" option it says

how to get my SIM card to work in my phone, by the way the SIM card works in another blackberry phone so it might not be the SIM card.
I have a blackberry bold 9930 which I brought from USA. I am on T-Mobile in the UK. I have been using the messenger and all other services for around 4 months now and suddenly my messenger has stopped working. I can use whatsapp and facebook but my messenger wont show any updates or let me send a message or recieve a message. Before this problem started I installed the new update for the new blackblerry messenger which carries customisations such as bubble colours and the like. It worked fine for a few days then suddenly this Friday it stopped working after experiencing some heavy lags.The phone is on BOLD 9930 on 7.1 OS bundle 457 (v7.1.0.163, Platform 5.1.0.137) which is the latest update

View 1 Replies View RelatedIf I use the holster that came with my 9930, it goes into sleep mode like it is supposed to, but I don't like that holster. It's too difficult to remove the BB from those holsters, when you grab it to slide it out, you also push the volume up key.I prefer the face-in spring loaded belt holster like I used with my Bold 9650. I am using ones designed for the Bold 9000 and they fit, but the holster sleep mode doesn't work. I tested the holsters with an old 9000 and they do work correctly, but no luck with the 9930 - as if the magnets are in a different location.

I would have to put the phone on speaker in order to hear the person on the other end. I just updated to the latest OS that was released yesterday (7.1.0.580) and the problem is still there. Can't remember what triggered the handset to stop working, as I didn't do anything different to the phone, or drop it, etc. I should add whether receiving or making the call, it doesn't work either way. Also I've tried soft pulls (alt + upper case + del) but not a battery pull. Figured the OS update worked the same as a battery pull.

With the Curve I could search for items stored in notes and it would display any contact that contained the search criteria. I currently have a BB Bold 9930. When I do the same type of search it doesn't retrieve the contact. I spent a lot of time and energy to store needed information for quick reference and now it is useless.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI am using a blackberry bold 9700 V5.0.0.862. My phone is unlocked and I am using it on the Fido network. I was away for 5 weeks, and while away I used a simcard from that country in my phone. When I got back to Canada, I put in my fido sim card and the internet was not working. I called Fido and they did a reset on my phone and still no data.
The tech did some trouble shooting as well as gave me the Fido APN info, I did the host routing table reset and still nothing. I have no idea what the problem could be but Fido has told me there is nothing else that they can do, as I am using an unlocked device. I cannot connect to the internet, my BBM does not work, and I am not receieving emails. I can make phone calls and send texts. I have pulled the battery out many times. My phone says 3G.I don't know if some of the setting on my phone locked from using the international sim, if my sim is corrupted, or if I need a new phone.
My BB services are active, I changed my sim card and BB services stopped working. What do I do?

The device was disconnected. Reconnect your device and try again." So I did . . . three times. Same message each time. I downloaded the BlackBerry Desktop Software for Mac again, even though it said I had the latest version already installed. I tried the backup once more; same error message. This doesn't happen every time, but at least 3 or 4 times a day. Is this a known problem with Blackberry or do I have to contact Verizon? Nothing has changed since I bought this new phone, such as where I use it, the carrier, etc. I have pulled the battery numerous times to see if that solved the problem, but it continues to happen regularly.

I am able to make calls with the 9930 but have been unable to activate the Enterprise service on it. I have tried using the desktop software to switch devices but that seems to have only transfered the data from my old phone to the new one.
I bought my BBB 9930 several months ago, today my phone did not start. I tried everything, taking battery out for about an hour, direct connect to PC etc..Every 20 seconds the blackberry logo and bottom bar will slightly light up (faded low low light) and disappear right away then 2 seconds later the red light will turn on and off and then the same thing will happen again 20 seconds later into a loop.

I have noticed this is now a common problem with 9930s running on thesame network in nigeria. the phone is a 9930 verizon running OS 7 on the MTN N network. i have used this same phone in glasgow the last time and it had no problems but on returning to nigeria the BIS stopped working. i dont have any other problems with this phone as much as i know.
