Dec 16, 2011I have a BB Bold.How to make Favorite tray the default?Every time I touch the blackberry it goes back to all and I have to scroll through to get back to favorites.Is there an easier way to get to the icons I use the most?I used to have a blackberry storm and when I turned it on it showed only my favorite icons.

Dec 27, 2010Got a new Bold today. On the BB I replaced, when I opened the homescreen, six icons appeared along the bottom. If I wanted to see all my icons I clicked the bear claw and they all showed up (so, one click). On my Bold, six icons appear along the bottom when I open it, as well, but in order to see all my icons, I now have to click the bear claw, then click "open tray," so twice the number of clicks - a small but really annoying difference. Can you tell me how I can avoid that first step and automatically open the "tray" when I click the bear claw when I am on on the homepage?

Aug 29, 2011Normally the tray stays on my home screen permanently with one row of icons, and when I open the tray the rest appear. I liked this setting and found it easy to manage. However, while playing about with whether to show 1 icon etc, when the tray is closed it completely collapses now? I've changed it back to default tray setting, but it still hasn't fixed? How do I fix this, without putting it back to factory settings? (as I have a number of txt messages that I need to keep saved).

May 15, 2011I have a Nokia CR-115 car holder, which I use with my 5530. It's a very good, compact and safe car holder, I like it a lot.I intend to buy a C6-01 and accordingly to Nokia's site, the recommended car holder for this phone is the CR-114, not the CR-115..The only difference between CR-114 and CR-115 is the thickness of the phones they support. CR-114 is for phones with 8-18 mm and CR-115 is for phones with 8-13.That said, I don't think there wil be any trouble if I use the C6-01 on a CR-115 car holder. C6-01 has 13.9 mm thickness, only 0.9 mm more than the theorical maximum of the CR-114 holder. I mean, since the CR-115 holder will grip most part of C6-01 thickness, I think it'll be OK.Has anybody already used a CR-115 car holder with a phone with more then 13.0 mm thickness?

Jun 21, 2010The 3rd Bold (My first 9700) also had a build quality issue. There was light leaks all around the phone. I returned this device and asked for a Bold 9000. The 4th Bold (9000) went okay. The keys clicked to loud (like something was wrong with the plastic. The speaker on it went out and I was sent to a warranty area. They exchanged it for another Bold 9000.
The 5th Bold (9000) was okay. The camera did not take clear pictures (Blurry) and the back would not stay on. It felt weird to type on. I called AT&T mulitiple times asking for another device. They finally gave in and I was given another Bold 9700. The 6th Bold (9700) was okay. The camera would not focus correctly and the quality was horrible. I had the settings at Superfine and Autofocus at Normal. I called AT&T and they sent me another Bold 9700. My bezel on the right side is loose and my LCD on the bottom left is also loose.
The 7th Bold (9700) was in my hands and when I went to try out the camera I clicked the camera button (the one on the right) and to my amazement the bloody thing was broken. It goes to camera but the button is lose or broken. I am sick of AT&T. Sick of their phones being broken. They have taken me through the ringer.

Mar 7, 2010I have a strange problem since yesterday. Out of the blue my 9700 (5.0.0.442, free device, Vodafone Germany) can no longer connect to the Internet. The connection to the BIS, however, is still there. It lacks only the right service books. Vodafone said that I should do a software update -> so I installed 5.0.0.536. But the problem persists. The Vodafone-BlackBerry support is then determined that posting the service books hang in a "queue" and can not be delivered. They created a new BIS account for testing, even there the problem exists.My carrier says I have to replace the 9700. But I don't think, that this is a hardware problem.
Sounds more like a software problem to me, because some service books still arrive:

Akkupulls, resending service books, wiping and new firmware install brought no improvement. I just despair.

The device still works, but two thirds of the LCD is now white and there's what looks like an inkblot on the left side of the screen. I'd like to try to fix it, but don't really want to shell out a lot of $ to do so --- I'm a month away from upgrading.Does anyone have any suggestions, or perhaps a dead BlackBerry with a working screen that you're willing to part with? Originally all posted to one folder messages folder in the message 'center' where all the sms etc go into (middle of the screen icon at the top) i am not sure what has started to happen but suddenly i then had 2 messages folders and now i have 3. They all go to the same place and sometimes contain the same message which just appears in all 3.
I think this started when i started configuring the sync of the deletion of the folders "folder reconciliation". how i can delete these additional folders as they are just a nuicense they mean very little as mail is randomly flowing into them.
BB Bold :: Missing Wifi Hop Spot Option On Bold 9900 On 0s 7?
Mar 7, 2012I had recently downloaded and installed the new os 7.1.0.267 os from SK Telecom form the software download page of on blackberry site to my bold 9900. Upon doing that i was able to access the new mobile hot spot feature and even set it up for use after calling my service provider for the APN which is Lime Jamaica. I even tested it by using another phone which detected it. However sometime afterwards about 30 minutes to an hour later while listening to music my headset got pull out by mistake and upon putting it back in realized music wouldn't start playing back after pressing the side button. Unlocked the phone only to see the play icon highlighted in music player but nothing wouldn't register when clicked with trackpad or touch screen. plus got a message on the screen saying that device media player was busy, which continued for a while. Did a battery pull afterwards which fixed the problem. However a few hours later when i decided to show a friend the new feature and test it by connecting his phone, upon accessing the connections menu the mobile hot spot option was missing even in networks and connections. essentially it disappeared form the phone the only apps on the phone besides the default ones was wikitude and whatsapps. Even after a factory reset it didn't return. Did a clean wipe of the os and installed the os again upon which the hot spot option returned only to disappear again after about a few minutes at which time no extra apps was insatlled just the default ones. Have no idea whats causing this and whats worse the 7.1.0.267 download has been removed from the Sk Telecom link.

Oct 18, 2013whenever I send a text, a notification pops up for less than a second and then goes away so quickly that I was having trouble even seeing what it was. I finally got a good enough look at it to go through my app list and find what was causing it, which turned out to be the "Usage" app. I'm not sure if this is a bug or if it's supposed to happen, but I figured I would come here and see just to be sure and see if there is a way I can make it stop. The "allow notifications" check box is checked and grayed out, so I can't change it.
