May 20, 2010Does anyone notice that the standby mode does not work with software? Also the to do list cannot be seen on the calendar. Does anyone have a solution to this?

May 20, 2010I have been having issues with device software version 586. I have been getting uncaught exception with the phone. As well as my calendar and task do not merge any more. I have decided to downgrade back to version .330 until the bugs are worked out. Is anyone aware of this?

May 3, 2010After updating my device software to v 5.0.0.586 from v 5.0.0.423, I encountered the following issues: The keylock key on the top left of my device intermittently does not work. Sometimes, nothing happens, other times it switches the screen off but does not lock the keypad.When hitting the green phone button, the list of recent calls is displayed but the most recent call (at the top of the list) is hidden by the input field and you cannot read the number.I tried a battery pull but this did not help. File free = 120MB. I have since reverted to v 5.0.0.423 but would like to do the upgrade again if these issues can be fixed? Does anyone know anything about this?

Jan 28, 2012i recently got a bold 9700 bought used from someone. it is locked on rogers. I was updating it from os5 to os5, using desktop manager. As soon as it finished loading the os, an error 602 popped up, so i wiped the device on BBSAK so i could reload the os again. now the device is stuck on an error 507 screen. i know that i just have to reload the os, but when i plug it in using a USB cable, since it is stuck on the error 507 screen it cant connect to desktop manager or BBSAK!

Aug 25, 2010The contacts in outlook have only my new contact info (1 contact) and the desktop and wireless software want to synchronize with this folder. The sync works between the two devises however it does not recognize the loads of contacts that are on my blackberry devise. I have tried all of the options on the advanced sync option to try toget outlook to download the contact from the Blackberry 9700. How do I get these two to synchronize?

Jan 15, 2010I woke up in the middle of the night and saw my bberry at the start up screen with the white bar. It was at the 75%. I don't recall installing any apps before i slept which would require a reboot. So, i pull out the battery and reinsert it. It was still stuck at 75%. Tried it a few times this morning and still at the start up screen. I need help ASAP!
I called T-Mobile and they said a file is corrupted and would need to send me a replacement.Is there anything i could do?

Mar 17, 2010I have a new BB9700. With desktop manager i uploaded ubertwitter, over internet installed some gmail apps (gmail, google maps). While instaling ubertwitter the forth action of install in deskop manager could not be completed, it was not moving, so I cancelled it. Everything worked fine for a while.
Then, while typing a messege into blackberry messenger the phone went totally blank (white screen,), the hard reseted itself and after initialisation, it went into begginers setup. From then, when you cancel the setup it shows in the first line BlackBerry Platform 5.1.0.90 and a list of BB apps, address book, ATTMusic, BrickBreaker, Calculator, Calendar and so forth. When you click on any of them it says: "Error starting net_rim_bb_file_explorer; module "net rim_bb_browser_lib not found." Or similar.
The only thing that works are calculator, memo, password keeper and options. With options I can access application list and delete some of them if necessary.
All the settings in options are erased to starting options.What is also interesting is that I can return phone calls after I get a missed call. The phone does not ring, it is muted, but I get a notice of a missed call and I can the return the call.Does that mean that failuire of the desktop manager to complete the forth action cause BB to completly erase everything? Does it mean I need to reactivate the phone (BES) and start from scratch?
BB Bold :: 9700 - Device Reboots By Itself?
Nov 5, 2012I am using BB Bold 9700. I restored my data on my fone via BDM, since after that my device reboots automatically.
I have tried removing battery, also changed battery, i wiped the entire device also but it is still the same problem. While using anything it reboots by self.

Jan 10, 2010I had a curve 8310 on o2 and moved to a bold 9700 still on o2.When i moved i used the desktop manager and did the device switch over, all went well including bbm etc.However whenever i tried to send an email i recieved the error message 'transaction error failure at service' - I tried to log into my bis account online to update my pin but i couldnt log on! i havent changed the password or username since my old blackberry so i cant log on to change it online. on my blackberry when i try to log on to email settings it says the username field is blank!
i called o2 they put me through to geek squad and wanted to charge me to help!!! I havent had the phone 2 weeks yet.Now i think that i need to call o2 again and ask them something like releasing my old pin maybe from my bis account or resetting the bis account,any ideas what i should do or the type of questions i need to ask o2 if i have to ring them again.

Jun 9, 2010I was travelling with a friend who is using Storm 2. We were comparing our devices and founf that at certain area the Storm 2 signal is on 3G with the bb logo but my Bold 9700 signal shows EDGE. But when I change the option at Mobile Network to 3G only, my Bold 9700 is able to lock the signal to 3G, however when I change back Mobile Network to 3G & 2G it goes back o EDGE (not immediately though).
I am currently running OS .680.... Is there a fix to the problem above or it is a known Bold 9700 issue or a known .680 issue. I have not try this with previous OS so not sure if it will acted differently.Any opinion. Am considering downgrading the OS but will wait for feedback first.

Jan 31, 2010I tried to download it, the download is denied with "unsupported device", while according to other information on the site, the device, country, provider etc. is supported. When trying other applications on the site, all the downloads are denied too. I get redirected to "download AppWorld" or to "have it emailed to yourself". Accessing this email from the blackberry finally redirects me to the "unsupported device" page again. I also tried to download it with a web browser, the site says it isn't possible. They require Internet Explorer. So I started kvm, and tried this (in violation of any security policies). There are more requirements, ActiveX, clicking popups away, and cycling through some pages a few times. Then it tells me I need an USB driver to download. But I don't download via USB, I download via the internet? When on the blackberry, I tried WLAN and EGDE, it doesn't work with any.

Feb 7, 2010Do I really need to reserve before it becomes an issue. I have a fair amount of free and paid apps, probably between 15-20. Right now, I am at 86 MB remaining. How low have some of you gotten before you notice any kind of problems? I have an 8GB SD card for pics, music, etc., so plenty of room there.
I'm a little surprised for as advanced as this device is that you only get 256MB of space (much less than that, really) for applications. Kinda reminds me of the problem the Nintendo Wii had, where they had an SD card slot, but you couldn't save and programs on it until they did a firmware update later on.
