BB Bold 9700 :: Downloaded APPs World / No Signs Of Icon
Aug 10, 2010
I have just bought a brandnew sim-free BB 9700 off Amazon UK and I have updated the OS to the latest version (v126.96.36.1993). I use it with a sim-only O2 Germany pay monthly plan. I have also downloaded Apps World (188.8.131.52), Application Center (5.0.0) and BB Maps (5.0.0) using the Mac Desktop Manager, but they do not appear in the menu. They do appear on the Application list under options. I have rebooted the device as outlined in the BB Online Support instructions (pressing alt/cap/del ///// removing the battery) but there's still no sign of the icons. I have thoroughly looked for them, including sub folders etc, but they do not appear anywhere. Can anyone help?
I don't know what it is, but there's a new yellow "world" icon on top of my bb9700 with the number "1" next to it. I have no idea what it is-- I have tried everything to delete it because it's annoying me. What is it, and how do I get rid of it?
I have downloaded the new version of app world, but I cannot find the icon. I have verified that it is in my application list and have gone through all of my hidden icons. it's not there. Also, I have tried to download app world through the phone and through pc.
I currently have a blackberry bold 9700, I downloaded blackberry app world and I worked perfectly but once I connected it to my laptop the app world disappeared and know I can not download anything know, but the blackberry app world is still on my application list!Anyone out there can help me getting the icon back so I can start down loading things?
I just lost my BB App World icon after doing the recommended update to version 184.108.40.206. I downloaded it twice but the icon is nowhere to be found. I know the application is on my phone, when I go to "options" and then "Applications" I see it listed. Just can't find the icon to open it. Usually I can find stuff in the Download folder. I have software version v220.127.116.115 (Platform 18.104.22.168)
I try to go onto the app world and it says "We cannot connect you to BlackBerry App World. ensure that your device is connected to the wireless network and try again." I also try to use other apps and things don't load at all. I am on T-Mobile pay as you go but I get free internet.
I cannot find the BB App World icon. I think it disappeared after I downloaded the latest version. I have deleted and re-downloaded. I have looked in every folder. I have downloaded and replaced the existing version. I have re-booted by taking the battery out, etc. The software is in my applications. I have gone through every folder clicking on show all also.
In the last week my bold 9700 keeps on displaying memory manager and shows applications I can delete, but won't actually let me delete anything as it's basicall frozen with clock icon ticking away.Strange thing is if I reboot device, and look at available memory it shows 30mb available, but as I watch it ticks its way down to nothing. What could be eating at memory when I'm not doing anything.Device has become basically useless. After this started, I did install new release of OS that was available when connected to my PC hoping that would solve issue.APP world does not display all my installed apps when I go there??
When I got my 9700 it was running smooth. I downloaded a few apps and all of a sudden it started showing the little loading clock on almost everything I ran, so I deleted a few apps and voala!. It was working good again. But now, I have not downloaded any new apps and is giving me that clock againg.
I recently downloaded a new theme from BB app world, but I can't seem to find it. It says it is installed on my phone, but I cannot change my theme to it. When I go to display (under options) it does not give me the option to change my theme.
I have a curve 8520, and have a apps world icon in the top of my screen that normally appears when there are updates on current apps, but I updated them and the icon is still there, and won't go, I tried a battery pull, and it still stays
I currently have the Bold 9000 and I have the BB Maps already downloaded, but there seems to be no icon visible and I tried searchign through my phone and still cannot find it. Also my provider is AT&T.
My app world told me an upgrade was available (22.214.171.124) for my bold 9780. I am using software 126.96.36.1994. Once I installed app world upgrade and bbm upgrade the icons disappeared. I've tried reinstalling them, battery pull, all the usual tricks.
When I downloaded Facebook Version 3.0 my icon disappeared. I made sure to have my icons on Show All. I tried deleting and reinstalling FB but still the icon is missing. I checked my applications list and it is showing as installed...I even downloaded the newest update for FB and still the icon is missing.
I like the apps offered in BB App World but there is a limit as to how many I can keep. Even though I delete some apps it shows as 'uninstalled' or even 'unavailable'. Is there any way that my deleted apps can be removed totally without evidence that I had it? Another question, are the deleted apps taking up space on the memory on my phone? Can I transfer them somewhere else?
upgraded bb app world ver 188.8.131.52 today and now not able to see the app icon. it's not hidden nor is lying in any of the folders as i have checked the same. the application is visible in the options->device->application management.
Each time I download the new app world version 184.108.40.206 I don't see the icon on my bb bold 9650, but the application is listed in the application manager. I have downloaded this version of app world three times in the last three days and each time I've had to go back to the previous 220.127.116.11 version because of this problem!
I downloaded bbmaps and the download worked but when I wanted to open it it disappeared it isn't in my downloads folder and not even apps. I DiD download it but where is it? Can I do anything to make it appear?
I just downloaded the suggested update version 6.0 to my Bold 9700. I didn't touch it while it was loading. It took about 20 min or so, via my lap top. Then is showed downloaded update complete.Well, now my BB screen looks like a bunch of little colored crystals and doesn't work at all.
I upgraded to Blackberry App World version 18.104.22.168 on my Blackberry Bold 9780 yesterday. After re-booting the phone, my App World icon was suddenly missing from my home screen. It was not on my Download screen either. I could also not find it when doing a search for App World. I re-installed App World from the Blackberry website. I still had the same problem. Then a friend suggested that I un-install App World by Settings: Device: Application Management: Blackberry App World - and selecting delete in Options. I did this - and then re-installed App World AGAIN on my phone from the website. And still the problem persists. Do I actually have App World on my phone or not? If I do have it on my phone, how and where do I find the icon - so I can place it on my home screen.
