Massive letdown, can't get decent apps, each time I find a good app it tells me my device/carrier does not accept it. Sky mobile looks excellent but my carrier won't accept, any way round this?

View 11 Replies View RelatedJust dropped off my new Bold 9000 and I feel like a kid at Christmas. The CS was right when she said it would be early this week. I am so looking forward to exploring everything about this device. I thinkg I will wait a little while befor I install OS 5.0. I am coming from a Curve 8310 so this device is bound to be a vast improvement. I want to download a couple of apps. that might be beneficial to me. I did try to download theweather eye beta from pelmorex, but I was unsuccessful on my curve. If anyone has any suggestions as to useful apps, feel free to respond.
View 14 Replies View RelatedI watched part of the browser comparison vid that compared the 9700 to the Torch, iPhone 4 and Samsung Vibrant, and that 9700 was not a good comparison as its memory was bogged down IMO. Mine loads pages about ten times faster than the one in that vid did. Faster than all those phones, at least it seemed that way. Maybe I can find people with them and compare side by side that way.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI know there are multiple threads out there discussing this and I looked at most of them but this is different. My 9700 has gotten great battery life since day one, but this weekend I went out to the desert and didn't use my phone much because I only had EDGE but it was dropping in and out constantly, I had a full charge on Thursday morning and when I got home Saturday afternoon I had 20% which is pretty damn good I'm not complaining about that. When I got home I charged it fully and then on the middle of the day on Sunday my batter was almost dead. Same thing Monday and same thing today. I fully charged it yesterday afternoon and this morning it was at 25% and I hardly used my phone yesterday. SOMETHING has happened to my battery life, I'm running 5.0.0593 which hasn't ever gotten me fantastic battery life but its been okay but now its just shot.
I haven't changed anything on my BB for this to happen so I'm posting here for ideas of what could be causing this, I've looked at programs running closed everything I can and do not have WIFI or bluetooth on and Have constant good 3G reception.
Blackberry 9700 The device has problem if you activate the security password, the devices does not accept the password until 5 or 6 attempts and then prompts you to type blackberry to continue. Please note format and reinstall is not an option since the restored data does not work. Awaiting a quick solution.

So I've been experimenting with a bunch of free texting apps for iPhone and am a bit disappointed.The ones with decent interfaces such as Textfree and Textnow are both plagued by the problem that they send texts from different phone numbers every time you send a text. While this isn't really a huge problem for people with regular phones, iPhone users get irritated because texts will come in from different numbers, causing the text log to balloon in size and makes it difficult to keep track of conversations.
The only texting app that doesn't seem to behave this way is Textplus, which I loathe. The interface is complete and utter crap. The app runs so slowly and the texts are limited to 140 characters in length. These characteristics are true even for the paid version.
Anyway, I was wondering if anyone knows of any texting app that has a fast and smooth UI as well as sends texts from the same number each time?
Can I accept a call automatically on an iPhone without any external touch events on ACCEPT/REJECT buttons?

Please restart your device and try again. If you have content protection enabled on your device, please disable and try again."

How low have some of you gotten before you notice any kind of problems? I have an 8GB SD card for pics, music, etc., so plenty of room there.
I'm a little surprised for as advanced as this device is that you only get 256MB of space (much less than that, really) for applications. Kinda reminds me of the problem the Nintendo Wii had, where they had an SD card slot, but you couldn't save and programs on it until they did a firmware update later on.

I've been a BB fan for some years. I'm using now a BB Bold 9700 but I've recently experienced enormous performance problems and flaws on my BB, since I've upgraded to OS6. Mainly the issue appears to be on the Application Storage capabilities. It seems that the device only allows 250MB of application storage, being that the OS6 and some BB required software use the majority of it. I've around 8-10 apps which I've been using: Twitter, Facebook, Dropbox. ScoreMobile, GoogleMaps, Accuweather and a few others.
The application storage memory available is already below 2MB even after deleting all the not needed files, applications, language packs, etc. I've experienced that sometimes, when I reboot the system, there is an increase of space available but it keeps reducing after a few days without any further app installations. This problem affects the overall performance of the device. I've experienced three major things:
1. After being for sometime on stand-by, when I want to use the phone, the BB seems to freeze for about 30sec/1min before it reacts on my commands.
2. Very often, I wake up in the morning and the BB simply deleted all the emails in my inbox. IT appears to be a consequence of a low memory situation.
3. Even just using a few apps, I would like to install a bunch of new other stuff. Nevertheless I'm not able to do so as I do not have memory available for it.
Is there anyway to move the apps to the media file storage? How can I stop this?
I try to go onto the app world and it says "We cannot connect you to BlackBerry App World. ensure that your device is connected to the wireless network and try again." I also try to use other apps and things don't load at all. I am on T-Mobile pay as you go but I get free internet.

View 1 Replies View RelatedYou know how when you open an application, and just press the hangup / power key, it exits the application from the screen but it still keeps running in the background memory. I have noticed that such applications in the memory can drain the battery real quick. I was wondering if anyway on the phone you can check which applications are currently running in the background memory? If i can find that out, I can just exit all the apps and save my battery life. Let me know if anyone knows a way to do so.
