I normally have to keep most of my history SMSes as they contain data and contacts from client and usually do not delete them. View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a bold 9700 and recently it got really really REALLY slow, to the point where out of blind frustration i went to the options screen and did a security wipe for all third party apps, i thought it would just deleted them from my phone but it deleted all my app history from app world aswell meaning i cant reinstall any of them.
I paid for quite a few apps including Shazam Encore and Bejoose that i really dont want to have to pay for again, is there any way i could get them back?
coaxed by the desktop app, I changed to 5.00822 on my bb bold 9000 my phone history is now two lines for each entry which i find really annoying; you can only see half as many entries at a time.How to change back to a single line display alludes me - can someone tell where I find that option?
View 6 Replies View RelatedIt is annoying when you select a phone number from your history, contacts, or address book and the Bold auto dials the number. If you select the wrong number from the touch screen the phone auto dials the wrong selected number, and it is easy to do this on a touch screen.
I want to be able to launch the call from the phone call key so I can check the number before it is called. I want to be able to select a phone number and make sure I have the right one before the phone dials.
I've been trying to add an auto signature to my emails. I do NOT have the option of "Use Auto Signature" when I go into email options.
View 4 Replies View RelatedThe auto-display has stopped working on my Bold 9000 for just text messaging. I am not sure what the exact name of the feature is, but it automatically displays an incoming text or email provided I remove the phone from the holster with in a few seconds of its arrival. I use the flip-top holster that came with the phone.
The feature is still working for email, but not working for texting.
It may seem like a small thing, but this is one of my favorite things about this phone. Its smart, it knows that I am looking at my phone when it vibrates so I can see what text or email I just received. I like not having to click an extra button to see an incoming text.

I'm using the Bold 9000 with ATT's latest OS, 4.6x. Twice in the last 2 weeks all of my past calendar items - over 1000 - were deleted on my Blackberry. Both times I discovered this when I started a synch with Outlook on my laptop and BB Desktop Software wanted to delete all 1000+ past appts. from Outlook. That would have been a disaster.
This has never happened before and I haven't changed any settings. Calendar is still set to keep all appointments forever.
Is there somewhere else in my Blackberry settings I should be looking to find the source of this problem?
I've got the Bold 9000, and I'm using OS 5.0 (5.0.0.464).My sister went in my phone and deleted ALL my text messages, I've checked SMS Inbox and SMS Outbox, and all the folders, and I didn't have the option selected to save SMS to Sim Card, so no SMS's there.Is there any way at all to retrieve my deleted text conversations? Any hidden folders or logs or anything in the phone's software files to retrieve the texts?

View 7 Replies View RelatedI have a Bold 9000 that started out with the original Rogers operating system some time in 2008. I've upgraded it through various 4.6 (or is it 4.7?) OS versions and I'm now on 5.0.0.662 (I haven't gone to .681 yet mostly because I keep forgetting). On every single version of 5.0 I've tried (Wind, Azercell, etc) I have run into two problems.
1. The camera takes pictures that are way too bright when using the flash. It's like it doesn't reduce the exposure time when the flash is on - almost every flash picture is totally white. This happens in auto flash and when you force the flash on. Pictures without the flash work the way you'd expect them to.
2. I can't snooze the alarm using a side key while it's in the holster any more. The alarm ringtone starts playing, I press the volume up or down key while the phone is still in the holster. On OS 4.6, this would cause the alarm to snooze for ten minutes. On OS 5.0 it just restarts the alarm sound! Totally pointless. This is especially annoying for me as I need to take pills on a 12 hour basis and so I have alarms going off at least twice a day, every day.

Right so I know a *bit* about Blackberry's (have a storm...) so I seem to be the go to for a lot of the bosses. As with most work phones, every other application has been deleted off it, eg bluetooth, instant messaging etc. The problem is that the Blackberry Messenger Message button (blue double B) is still appearing on his home screen, even though Instant Chat has been deleted.
Why can't RIM develop a Bold 9xxx with the body of the Bold 9000 with larger memory, Trackpad, better camera? They've done it with the Tour and Curve. Plus they've got all the parts available already, just need a little engineering to fit the trackpad and everything else. C'mon RIM. We know you can do it. I'm sure you'd sell millions of them.

It shows that the ones I have been added are corrupted or something. They make no sense at all neither the abbreviation I put nor the abbreviated words. Plus I tried to delete them I press on delete and they won't go!Plus an issue I have faced a message ( input system error. I need this for work and so I will be forking some dough out of my pocket to get one of the two following phones: Bold 9000 (I'll pay 100$ Canadian, not Us) Curve 8530 (pay 24.99$ Canadian). I am very used to the Iphone and HTC Touch Pro 2 (not trying to start a flaming/argument/anything else , its just what i'm used to). I am very used to browsing with the other phones and I have heard that BB phones are not up to par, so my expectations will be low. Out of the two phones however, does one perform better than the other (Curve 8530 vs Bold 9000)? Out of the two phones, which one do you recommend overall. I have read that the Bold 9000 even though it is older, it still outperforms the 8530...

The device still works, but two thirds of the LCD is now white and there's what looks like an inkblot on the left side of the screen. I'd like to try to fix it, but don't really want to shell out a lot of $ to do so --- I'm a month away from upgrading.Does anyone have any suggestions, or perhaps a dead BlackBerry with a working screen that you're willing to part with? A DIY repair -- this is out of warranty anyway -- looks straightforward, but I'm not sure I want to spend the $100 or so for a new OEM part to replace the LCD screen.

Blackberry - change your defaults to retain any information FOREVER rather than hiding a default deep in the Calendar options set to 60 days which no-one knows about till it is too late - I have lost 4 years of critical project schedules and activities simply because I bought a new phone!! Judging by a couple of other posts on these forums others have also suffered this unwanted 60-day default. It is just so much more logical that the Users make a concious decision to have automatic deletion.

E:g - if vodafone is sending me a msg, the content would get deleted and the symbol would go green.
