BB Bold :: Won't Play Media Files Or Voice Notes
Oct 1, 2010Recently my blackberry bold has stopped playing media files or voice notes, the only media that still plays is the alarm tone and the ring tone!On start up it gives the error message 'Uncaught exception : A browser content provider for video/3gpp MIME type has already been registered with the browser'.Then when you try to open a media file, the screen goes white and it says 'Unable to play content.'So far I've tried re-registering the host route tables, battery pull etc and software updates and nothing has helped.

Jan 6, 2010I've just recently used the Voice recorder on my 5800 XpressMusic (FW 31.0.101) phone & I've notice something weird. If you select Options > Settings > Choose memory location > recording Quality > High
Then record something, then select 'Options' > 'Go To Gallery'
No mp4 files (the format 'high' is recorded in) are shown. Yet it's fine if you set Recording quality to 'Standard' (WAV) or ' MMS compatible' (AMR).
BB Bold 9700 :: Messenger - Send Some Images Or Files - Change Option
Mar 24, 20101: when i send some images or files, i always have to wait that the receiver accept the file... how can we change this option... and go back with the old style? I understood that this is a "problem" of the new version of BB messenger.
If i send an image to a contact who still have an old model (es BB 8300) with the old software, on my phone is displayed "file sent" straight, without any wait. Instead if i send an image to someone who has a new software, i have to choose the size of the image, and wait for his acceptance. And i also saw that if a contact doesn't accept the file immediately, after some time (really i cannot say how many time), there is a kind of time out of the sending (displayed on his phone)...how is it possible (on my phone was always displayed "waiting for acceptance")? How can i cancel this option?
2: with the old software if someone didn't read a message, a clock appeared on the face of the contact, and then i usually set the advice, to know when he read the message thanks to the sound. With the new software instead, i saw you can just set the advice only if the contact is Unavailable.

May 25, 2010I have a BB 9000 and have recently taken it abroad where I have a separate SIM and BB account with a local network provider.Everything has been working perfectly since I changed SIM to the local provider (BBM, receiving email messages, Facebook notifications etc.). Recently though I've only been able to send emails if replying to an existing email. If I compose a new email the send option is missing. If I save as draft I lose all the data in the 'to' field. Having read the forums I've deleted the service books, done a battery pull, re-registered the host routing table and re-sent the service books (on my local network provider's page).I'm still in the same position whereby the send option is missing when I compose a new email but it's not missing if I choose to reply to an email.

Feb 5, 2010I have the Bold 9700, got it last week Thursday. I don't know IF upgrading to the new OS will help this issue, but my VNR seems to be buggy. It won't let me play back what I just recorded. I receive the error message: "Unable to play media". While recording, I watch the time-lapse, and it goes slow. It seems to stay on seconds longer than it should, when in actuality, it has recorded past the time that's shown. I've done batt pulls. Sometimes it'll work and sometimes it won't. I had a Pearl Flip and never exp'd any of these issues.

I recently received a hand-me-down Bold 9000 from a colleague and I've just connected it with Vodafone.However that's when I discovered one huge problem - it doesn't have an option to set up anything but Enterprise email, and I just have regular pop and internet mail accounts. The wizard only comes up with the "BlackBerry Enterprise Server" option.I've tried registering with the Host Routing Table but that doesn't help matters.I've also installed the Desktop software and tried updating its software to no effect. Anyone have another idea of what I can do to get email on my email-centric smartphone? It's killing me!

Jan 17, 2010I have a Bold 9000, and sometimes the bugger just drives me nuts.This has only happened to me twice now, but it's a pretty costly issue..My voice dialing seems to randomly turn on, I have no idea what is leading up to it, I hadn't had my headphone jack in it for a couple of hours.But then, the next morning, my alarm doesn't go off because the stupid voice dialing was activated [as you can see, this is a costly issue because it has lead to me missing a shift].Anyways, all the posts that I have read the solution has been to disable the side key.. it died with WSOD- no calls, no texts, no work-y no mo'.so I had it powered up and used my mass storage feature to pull off 120 of my beloved pics... BUT... they are in jpg.rem
I know everyone says put back on your device and decrypt them or email them etc.. but this is not an option.I now have a new bold 9700 and it is through my company - so the security and encryption cannot be changed
Is there any software or any other way to change these to useable files?
