View 9 Replies View RelatedOne major issue that has disaapointed me about my Xperia Ray since purchase is the "touch experience".So many times the phone simply does not register my touches and I find myself poking repeatedly at the same place. Now whats funny is that it does not seem like an outright case of attenuated sensitivity or something because at times the touch registers and at times it simply does not until you retry once or twice or so. On the other hand, the touch sensitive buttons at the bottom never seem to miss a touch. And when they its because I'v not touched them in the exact location due to the absence of backlighting.
But yes, the overall sensitivity of the screen does seem to be a noticibaly lower than other devices I'v used. And I'm not accounting for the missed touches when I say that.
I wonder if majority of dropped calls on iPhone 4 is the result of "proximity sensor issue" and not "antenna issue."
View 14 Replies View RelatedI have a One S, about a month old. Since practically new I've noticed that when I make a call and use speaker phone the proximity sensor (dull rapidly flashing red light) turns on but doesn't function during a call, when the call is ended the proximity sensor is still turned on until I either restart the phone or make a call without speakerphone and end it. Making a call without speaker phone the proximity sensor functions correctly and turns off when the call is ended.
I have asked HTC support about this, they have recommended clearing cache partition through boot menu and clearing HTC sense app data, neither have worked and they are now suggesting the phone be sent for repair. Would you agree that this could be a hardware issue or is it more likely a software issue since proximity sensor functions normally unless the speaker phone is used?
For one weekn now the display won`t turn off while recieveing or giving calls on my sgs2. I know the proximity sensor is responsible for this, but it seems to work properly, as i tested it in LCD test mode (dialing *#0*#). I`ve tried restarting it or looking for any possible setting, but nothing works.

If the screen is on, but before unlock, proximity sensor is on as well. It will turn off only after unlock the screen to home screen.
Will it cause battery drain and infrared light burned out/dead after being *"ON" all the time?
It is infrared, so you can only tell if you use another camera or phone look at it. it is easy to test, just look proximity sensor with another camera or phone camera (that can see infrared, can be test with your TV remote)....
Clean boot (restart), the proximity sensor works fine (when on call it turns screen off, when moved away from face screen on). As soon as I make or receive call via bluetooth (Motorola brand btw.) The proximity sensor stops working. When on call it will not turn the screen off... Rebooting the phone will fix until a call is made/received via bluetooth. This was confirmed with other Moto phones (Photon...) as well as different bluetooth devices.
Atrix 4G / 2.3.4
When talking on the screen are activated any keys - the media, the button to turn off the microphone. Sometimes when you dial and put the phone to the ear he cut off talks. Proximity sensor works and the screen fades to where my ear. I do not know how to obtain it but it is very nasty. Version of software after the update is 30.0.003 but the problem remained.
View 1 Replies View Related So I cracked my phone a while ago, had the screen replaced at a local place and the screen looks fine, the phone functions almost 100% perfectly.
The thing that bugs me is that the phone seems to have the proximity sensor always on. When I answer a call, the screen turns black, and I am unable to turn the screen on until the call ends. I would rather just have the proximity sensor completely off. I just want my screen to be on when I'm on calls, or at least able to turn on with the power button.
I accidentally dial a number and the entire phone locks, I cannot end the call and I cannot do a hard reset.
I really do not want to learn how to live with this sensor. I would just like to switch it off.
I have noticed that when I start a call and put the phone to my head (or hand above the sensor) that the screen stays on. I do know that the phone's "pocket mode" works, which tells me that the proximity sensor is functioning. Faulty or non-existant software for the phone app?

View 9 Replies View RelatedMy problem is that when starting calls I put the phone to my ear and it is muted. The other end hears me, but I dont hear them. This happens most of the time, but not always.I have tested the proximity sensor and the test is OK most of the time and across most of the screen. But since this is creating such frustration, with customers loosing me on the phone, I just want the phone to work as it does on my old HTC Touch Pro:When starting a call the screen automatically goes blank and I cannot accidentally touch the mute button or anything else. Can I do this on my X10 Mini Pro?Alternatively, can I move the mute button to somewhere else on the screen or remove it entirely?

I have to wait till the other party hangs up so that my screen can return back.

View 13 Replies View RelatedDuring outgoing calls, the screen rarely, if ever, turns off due to the proximity sensor - I need to manually do it using the screen lock button. However, with incoming calls, the screen turns off fine (due to the proximity sensor). For both incoming and outgoing calls, it is often impossible to get the screen to light again once it is off.Initially I thought my proximity sensor might be faulty, but the proximity sensor works perfectly in the diagnostics app. So it seems to be a software issue.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI've recently got a HTC 601 which I'm pretty happy with so far except for the following issue.
I have noticed on multiple occasions that when on long calls the call gets hung up. I'm not certain, but I'm fairly sure that this is because the phone is picking up a 'touch' from the side of my face and processing it as a press of the end call button. As far as I can tell the screen is off when this happens - but it is still registering the touch rather than ignoring it. On one occasion the call was put on to speaker-phone - which made me pretty sure the problem is related the the phone registering touches when it shouldn't be (opposed to the call dropping out due to network or similar issues).
This has happened since I first had the phone (I got it about 2 weeks ago) and I have not rooted the phone or anything like that. Are they any settings I can change that would relate to this? My wife got the same phone at the same time but hasn't had any issues.
If I want to make the Z5 a call and dial the number and pick up the phone, the screen goes black and I can do nothing more. It then responds to anything, not even on the Power button until the other ends the call. Then, the screen lights up again and it goes back all normal.
