After getting to work, I come to find out that my iPhone 6 has a black screen. Before that time, it worked just fine until I took it out of my pocket later this morning. The phone shows a black screen, but the buttons still work (the mute switch works; every time I mute it the phone vibrates). I tried connecting it to iTunes and it shows the phone. I assume that the screen has been bricked. I previously had a time where my phone was covered in rain water. Â iPhone 6 running the latest iOS
I dropped my iphone from waist level (it feel out of my pocket). It was in an otter box. There are no cracks or anything wrong with it other than my screen won't work. I can turn it off and it will ring with text messages and phone calls but i cannot see any of it. Is there a way to fix it without sending it back to apple?
I have used the iPhone 4 (Factory Unlocked) for more than a year now with only minor issues. Like on a usual day I was playing a word game "Rumble" then quit the game, connected my earphones for music & pressed the "Home" button on the phone to unlock it and the screen was Black. This was a sudden shocker!! . I just put the phone to rest for a while & after about an hour crossed my fingers and tried the Home button again but the Black screen continued. So the backlight of the iPhone works I can say that bcoz I see the phone luminates but the "Slide to Unlock" is cannot be seen. Since I have been using the phone for a while I know the exact position of "Slide to Unlock" so if I slide my finger it unlocks too with the default "unlocking (click) noise" but again the icons of the apps cannot be seen, all I see is a fadely luminated grid. I receive SMS's and Calls although I cant read them nor can I see whos calling. Since the screen is blank I cant operate the phone but the phone seems to be working. I hence tried the reboot, restart, shutdown & start again, restore backup, update iOS everything a desperate user would do but nothing has worked till now. There is not much discussion on this issue anywhere hence No resolution. I am gonna visit an Apple service center today and keep my fingers crossed. I have taken utmost care of the phone. Till date it is scratchless, spotless.
I dropped my Iphone in the sink for about 2 seconds, then took it out and dried it off. It all worked fine but a few minutes later the screen went black. I put it in rice for about 2 and a half days, and the sound and touch works (I can even unlock it and answer the phone), but I see not a thing on the screen. It's plain black. I still have it in the rice, but is there anything i can do to save it?
I was on instagram and it froze I hit the power button to put it to "sleep" and I tried to open it back up and its been stuck at a dark screen. I tried holding the power button in order to reset and nothing happens.. When I press the home button siri turns on but I can't get anywhere with that either.
everything on the phone works except the screen is always black. when i turn on the phone, the keypad lights up and the start up nokia tune plays, but there is nothing on the screen. if someone rings the phone, i can answer and it works fine. i can connect to the phone to the pc but i cannot see anything on the phone screen. i have watched many videos on Internet showing how to change the screen and i am pretty confident i could do it for myself but before i spend money on a new screen i want to know will replacing the screen fix the problem?
i bought a blackberry 9360 on Saturday 17th December and it worked fine on that day and then i turned it off and put it back in its box, the next day when i went to turn it on, the screen wasjust completley black but the keypad lights would still be on and the LED light would be flashing red, i could even hear the sound of me getting a new message, i turned it off again and left it for the rest of the day and i turned it on monday and the same has happened, the screen is still black when i turn it on i havent even properly used it yet!
I have had my Sony Xperia Z3 for a month. I've never dropped it. About an hour ago, the screen went black while I was checking something on the phone. At first I thought the battery ran out, but turns out I have plenty of battery and the phone is on charger now. Then I realised that phone works just fine, it rings when someone calls me, when there are some notifications you can hear a sound too. I can even set volume. Just the screen is black all the time.
The face of my phone started going crazy every time I pushed the slider up. When support tried to trouble shoot we backed it up, re-installed the OS and now the entire face of the phone is black and unresponsive!
I am helping out a friend who has a Nokia 6280. She claimed that it's infected by a virus because her problems started after using a Bluetooth headset. I don't quite believe this as I've heard it's more likely to be struck by lightning than to have this phone infected with a virus. Anyhow, the problem is the following: When you power on the phone, you get the Nokia handshake, then the phone loads. However, as soon as the phone loads, a bunch of black lines appear to streak across the screen rendering it black. That's not a huge issue because it goes away after a few seconds. Now I've read this could be an issue related to the ribbon that connects to the screen, but the screen turning black does not occur in any other instance other than right after when the main screen appears. I can play with the slider all day and nothing will happen, but like clockwork the problem appears after the phone loads. What gives? The phone works fine otherwise, so what could the problem be? If you need any more information I will be happy to provide. I've uploaded a video of this issue here (using my 5800 XpressMusic at night - the quality isn't that great sorry, but it does show the problem). Pardon the audio - my kids were watching Spongebob Squarepants so you might want to turn the audio all the way down! I guess my question is two-fold:
1) can this in fact be the result of a virus? 2) if this isn't due to a virus, what is it due to?
I made the mistake of buying my daughter an iphone 4 off of craigslist today. Normal story no available upgrades to use and needed to replace a phone. Had someone meet the seller and pick up the phone for me and when I received it found it to be doa. When powering up all I got was a dark blue screen and never comes out of it. After several hours of playing with it found that if I firmly press the top left corner of the screen the display comes on and everything works as it should but as soon as you let go of the corner it fades away and the screen is completely unresponsive.I did a full restore and still the same issue.
I have a iphone 3g and I am having big problems accessing my apps. Everytime I go to use a app e.g facebook or ebay the scrieen goes black and then goes back to the home screen. It also seems to be taking forever to got to make a phone call. What can I do as one of the main reasons for getting this phone was using the apps
I accepted the update for ios and now my phone is going from black screen to apple screen. I have tried turning it off and holding both buttons NOTHING! I also hooked it up to my computer and went onto iTunes and it does not show as a devise?
I got an iPhone 5s what the screen is totally black, but the touch screen and other functions are still working, has been replaced the LCD but it keep doing the same way.
My phone has been acting up since installing the latest iOS 7.1.1. The back lighting for the screen works intermittetly. I have been able to get it to come back on by turning the phone off and back on, but not every time. Once I enabled VoiceOver through Siri and turned ScreenCurtain On and Off. Other times, just clicking the home button and a few times on a notification that would turn the back lighting on. The phone seems to want to respond to turning the back lighting on, but does not do it every time it should. It usually takes 10 - 30 minutes of me working with it to get it to come back on. The phone has not been dropped and is in an Otterbox case.
For the last couple of weeks my screen has been starting to act kind of weird. The problem is that the screen become unresponsive from time to time. For the most of the time when the screen stop responding I can "reset" it by pressing the sleep-button and then wake the phone up again or tilt it to landscape-mode.
It's very annoying and I don't know what to do. For example, just a regular text/sms takes like 8-9 "resets" as described above, to finish. I use the latest software for both iOS and iTunes. The phone has not been a subject to "brute force" or any kind of liquids and part from a few very small scratches the phone looks like new (kind of).
So my phone got water damage, and the screen no longer works. It still functions but I have to use siri for everything. So i just decided to buy a new one. I wanted to back up my phone to itunes on my computer so I can put the new stuff on my computer, but since it wont let me back it up if i have no pass code for the iPhone, and clearly i cant enter it because my screen is not functioning. Is there a way i can open my phone with out touching it or enter the code in on itunes? Without touching the touch screen? oh and it's still asking me for the code on the last computer I backed up to.
Shortly after I upgraded my iPhone 4 to iOS 5.1, the camera shortcut on my home screen stopped working. The camera icon appears even if I single click the home button, but whether I single click or double click the home button, touching the camera icon simply makes the screen bounce in rejection.
I have removed the passcode on my phone only to get the same effect.
My phone will not turn off. I have held down the top button as well as set the screen to use the white key nothing works. The battery also is reading 70% which it has read all day.
The last time the display functioned I was starting a play-list for my shower. I adjusted the volume once or twice without lighting the screen, and after drying off stopped the music by removing the speaker jack again without lighting the screen. The device then went into my shirt pocket and I ate dinner then watched a movie but when I tried to do a little surfing before bed the screen wouldn't light up. I had seen it light up the buttons but take a few seconds for the display when the CPU was busy so I waited, nothing happened. I pulled the battery and tried again, nothing on the screen. But then I discovered that the touch sensor was still functioning, I could swipe to unlock and power down in the standard fashion just blind. I have examined the water stickers they are both white with bright red X's.
While writing this question (I am sure many of you already know this fact) I discovered that the display of my device is in fact three distinct functional parts. The capacitive touch screen still in operation on my device, the LCD image generator also still in operation, and the Led illumination source which for lack of a more accurate description is burned out.So my question is how could this occur, is it software or hardware, and what are my recourses?
I have an Iphone 4, which did an upgrade yesterday. Now I can't unlock the screen as the swiping through the numbers no longer works. Can I reset it using the computer...if so how?
I had an authorized seller replace the broken screen on my iPhone 4S, but now the bottom dock of icons is unresponsive. Weird thing is that I can't access the icons on the dock, nor open the lantern / calculator / clock / camera on the icons when I pull up the quick menu, but aside from that, that part of the screen works ... I can use the keyboard completely, you name it, everything except the icons on the dock and the bottom ones on the pull up menu ! Â
The guy who fixed my screen said it must be a software glitch, but I've restarted and restored the phone (from backup and as a new one) and the problem is still there !Â
Any chance he messed up something while changing the screen ?Â
Also, iPhone isn't (and has never been) jailbroken or anything of the sorts
