Mar 19, 2012When I open the camera app I switch over to video camera and tap the record button but nothing happens. The camera does not record. I do not see a video time counter and I cannot do anything else with the camera. I can't stop the recording because it doesn't think it is recording. Odd. BTW, this was happening before 5.1 update.

Dec 2, 2014It's my boyfriend's iPhone & we've dropped it plenty of times in the past going on 6 months now, so you can imagine it has plenty of cracks & the back had come off to where we taped it back on. Recently - a few days to a week ago I dropped it & it seemed fine until I tried taking a picture of our cats and the camera opened to a black screen. Everything else works fine except the speaker when we call out we have to put it on speaker for someone to hear us - already tried cleaning out all the ports. I don't want him to go to the iPhone store and have them complain about all the issues wrong with the phone and go extreme bill on him either. Yes I have tried restarting his phone, I just don't want to completely reboot it when it's under his mom's account & her iCloud. & The front facing camera works.

Jun 18, 2014I love my new M8. I previously had the HTC One S, and when in camera mode, you had a camera OR video button at the same time.
On the M8, I see this setup for my front facing camera, but on the rear facing, I have to keep going into the menu and selecting one or another. I frequently flip back and forth, and it's soooo annoying. I'll be ready to snap a pic and oops I left it on video mode. Then I have to stop the video and go back and change. And when you're taking pics of a 9 month old baby, they don't understand to stop and wait a few seconds.
Anyways... is there some kind of setting to display both the camera and video button on the same screen at the same time? I looked around but couldn't find anything.

Mar 27, 2012I have a serious problem with my iPhone.When I use the camera app to shoot a video sequence there is (almost) so sound. You just hear white noise and the real sound is almost unhearable quiet. Tried it with the internal mic as well as with an external mic. But! If i use the voice memo tool - the audio recorder - the sound is excellent. Loud, clear and crisp.Why does the camera fail to record the sound whilst the audiorecorder just does it perfectly.I called Apple Support. Despite the fact the guy on the phone did not seem to have understood what I described, he just said, i should reset it to factory settings and if tah wont helf I could send it in for having it checked for as little as 160 Euros.

So I took of my OtterBox Defender Case but that wasnt the problem at all. I tried blowing on both microphones that didnt work I tried cleaning it out with a cotton swab but no luck!

May 8, 2012The sound on my iphone video camera is not working. I have used it before and it was OK. I shot an hour's worth of clips during which I tested and heard the sound being recorded. When I went to upload it to my computer, there was no sound. Pics are good. Looking at the original clips still on my iphone, and there's no sound. I tried to record another video clip as a test and it has no sound. Is there a setting for sound which I am missing or is there something wrong with the microphone.
