my iphone 5 dies and comes back on?

iPhone 5, iOS 8.1
my X10 died on me and I assumed it was the battery so recharged it and when I tried to switch it on I just get the SonyEricsson across the screen and nothing more. I cannot even turn it off again. I connected to PC and although the PC did not recognise it I managed to run a repair on it and got it working again and as far as I can tell it has the latest software. I then reconfigured it and loaded the few Apps I use (DME, Birthday Calendar, TV droid, Notes etc - not a huge App user). It all worked fine for about 2 weeks and then died again. I am about to take it to a service centre but thought I might ask if this could be a known software fault ? I dont want to run another repair on it before knowing really what the problem is (by taking it to service centre I am hoping they can get some idea of the problem before re-installing the software.
View 3 Replies View RelatedIn the past week, my phone has started dying at 20-30%. When I plug it in to charge, it starts charging at the same charge it died at. Will a restore in iTunes help that, or do I just need to replace the battery or phone? Or, will updating to iOS 5.1.1 help that (I am running at 5.1)?

Is it just me or is anyone having this problem? I've search the communities and couldn't find an answer.
My 4S is running on iOS 5.1.1 and is having a problem with power.
Currently I am plugging my iPhone into a Boostcase to extend its battery life.
The problem is, its not extending its life but the iPhone is reliant on the case.
Without the case the phone dies at 80% more or less.
When tried to turn on, the phone request to be plugged in as it would when the battery dies.
I don't think this is a hardware problem but more system related.
I've tried restoring, reseting and the charge cycle thing.
Nothing works. I have resorted to asking the community.
All replies are appreciated. Thank You.

MY phone literally dies from 30% down to one, is there anything i can do?
Its an iphone5 but not eligable for the change!
This just happened recently. I can feel the thing in my pocket heating up. The battery goes from full charge to empty in the matter of a couple hours.
Oddly though, this morning it said I had no service and my phone was normal temp and the battery lasted a long time. Or course i needed services so I turned the phone off and on and the service was back and so was the hot phone.
The phone is over a year old. I've tried all of the trick. Hard Reboot. Reset all of my settings etc.
I have 3GS and it just dies without no warning or nothing. I hope there is on the 4S as it is being delivered tomoz.

View 7 Replies View RelatedRecently Iphone has invited customers to get their battery replaced who have purchased the iphone 5 between Sept 2012 to Jan 2013. I have purchased my Iphone 5 on Feb 2013, however my battery doesn't hold a day (and quickly goes to 30%->0% in no time). I have checked on the apple page and my Serial number is not suggested to be affected by the fault that the company is admitting. Is it possible that the lot that I have purchased the phone in could also be faulty similar to its predeccars. I am facing the battery issue from almost beginning of this year now. That suggests my phone battery was fine only for an year. I am wondering if this is the average age of Iphone battery or my phone behaved exceptionally bad.Â

my phone dies as it usually does. After that happens, I charge it up and everything works. However, today, when my phone died and I tried to charge it, it would not.Â
I put my phone on charge and I am able to turn it on, but when it turns on, it shows that there is only 1% battery and dies in less than 5 seconds. I have left my phone on charge for over 30 mins. Even then when I turn it back on, it still shows that the battery is at 1% and dies once again. It shows that it is connected (lighting bolt on screen) but as I said before, when I turn it on, it dies. Â
I am running some form of ios6. I also plugged it into my macbook pro but it doesnt show up on my computer.

My battery used to fail on me at 15% and later on sometimes even at 30+% (After 8+ hours stand-by/usage). But since a few days (also after updating to iOS8) it just dies after 3 hours and sometimes it indicates it has about 70% left. The fact it only gets worse makes me think it's the battery. It's slowly dying.
But updating to iOS8 seems to have made it worse. So it could also be a software problem. Is it worth the try to change to a new battery first before restoring the iphone etc.?When I plug it in to charge it has the same % as when it died.

I get no sound from on-board speakers or volume adjustment bar for both Iphone 4 (ringer) and Ipad 3 (sound effects) - both IOS 5.1.1. Apple 'solution' is a complete Itunes system restore. All is fine with headphones. Problem comes and goes. Any easier solution while away from Itunes?Apple have checked Iphone headphone socket and is OK.

I bought my iPhone 5c in September. Last week my iphone randomly died once i returned inside frim making a call on the phone even though it had well over 30%. I immediatly thought the cold weather got to my phone and caused it to shut down. I wrapped it in a blanket and put it on the charger to warm faster. My phone stayed off for 30 more minutes. Today it shut off once again. But while i was holding my home and lock button the apple logo appeared as normal. But the screen began to glitch and look static like. The screen then went black and didnt turn back on. Once again i held the lock button and home button. My lockscreen appeared. As i slide the screen to unlock my phone the entire screen went blue and shut back off. Â
I didnt drop my phone or get it wet, this just randomly started. I even reset my phone settings as recommended by other which did not work.Â

I've got a 2g unlocked. Nothing installed but the sinful MMS package (but it did this before I installed it anyways). Maybe once or twice every week or two the battery will drain rather quickly during the day. It'll last from 8am - 6pm off a full nights charge. So once it dies, I'll try to turn it back on but it remains dead. As soon as i plug it in, it turns on as usual but then reads 50% battery. The remaining "50%" then takes about an hour to drain to zero again.
The battery has been calibrated and most days it works perfectly fine (2-3 days per charge)I think I've noticed that this happens on a day where I might use the phone a little more than average, but definitely not enough to make this drastic change.
My Curve charges just fine except for when it dies completely. For the third time my phone has died and I have been unable to get it to charge. I have bought a new battery, charger and taken the battery out and hard set it to the point that I have a blister on my finger.connected the phone to my PC...won't recognize the phone because it won't turn on run some loading program....won't recognize determined there to be no water damage verified that my charger is fine
View 3 Replies View RelatedI even submitted the phone to the service center and they said they have fixed it, but the issue still persists. My phone (Xperia X10, with the latest software) goes dead (not restart but shut down) , intermittently, at different battery levels (but always less than 15%). I mean, once i get the 15% notification for remaining battery level, it becomes unstable and keep shutting down at different battery levels (12%, 10%, 9%, 6% being the most common ones). I have to reboot the phone everytime it dies. There is no trend for the shut down, ie. sometimes the phone shuts repeatedly at different levels as I keep rebooting, sometimes it shuts just once, and on few occasions it never shuts down. I have performed factory data resets, formatted SD card (16gb SDHC, class2) , used different SD cards but every combination ended up in the same behavior.
View 8 Replies View RelatedPerhaps I didn't calibrate my battery meter correctly, but if I drain my battery it dies at 9% most of the time. This happen to anyone else? With lithium ion batteries I'm pretty sure that the battery is pre configured in the OS for the stock battery specifically, so that the meter doesn't need to be calibrated. Anyone have any thoughts?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have a BB Bold 9780. It is one year old. Recently it started suddenly dying, saying the battery is drained, when it hits 50% battery charge indication. It gives one low battery warning beep and the battery level indicator goes to red before it shuts down. I bought a new battery, but I have the same problem. I have a friend with the same phone and he said he has the same problem. I'm not sure, but I think the problem started after I did the last firmware update. I am running 6.0 bundle 1879 (v6.0.0.448, platform 6.5.0.136).
View 2 Replies View Relatedmy phone dies so fast. I was told by rogers to reload my cell through blackberry. So i tried. and when I click on update there is nothing in the left corner. They told me to hit the View other versions and the nothing is there. I did order another battery just incase but it sucks that half way through school I have no cell.
View 1 Replies View RelatedBattery dischrges rapidly. And yes, I do all the right things for battery life management. It even discharges when the BB is turned off. I replaced the battery already. I think it may have been caused when I upgraded to the new 6 OS. Has this happened to anyone and is there a fix?
View 9 Replies View RelatedIve had my Storm (9530) for about a year and a half now and have had no major issues with it until recently. About 2 weeks ago I noticed it would occasionally turn itself off. It was annoying but I lived with it. But within the last few days its gotten worse. Now it will occasionally turn itself off, display that clock thing, load up, display the verizon logo and then turn itself off again. It will do this over and over until Im able to plug it into a charger somewhere. Then when I really started watching it I noticed that when I made or received a phone call after about 20seconds to a minute into the call it would turn off and start the cycle all over again. When I plugged it in to charge it would finally load all the way, the radio would be disabled due to low battery but after about a minute of charging it shows that I have a full battery. I can then unplug it and use it fine unless I make another phone call. Im not very smart phone smart and have no idea what could be causing this issue. Ive looked around for others having this issue and only found one post where the guy gave in and bought a new battery but that didnt fix his issue. I dont want to spend the money on a new battery just to have the issue comtinue. Additional information: Blackberry Storm 9530 v5.0.0.328 Bluetooth is always off Applications that are running when I hold the BB button (Browser, Phone, Home Screen, and Messages)
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm from Peru and I bought a Xperia Mini Pro last year. I downloaded ICS a few weeks ago and since then I doesn't have a day when my phone causes problems. It frozes the screen, doesn't catch wi-fi or 3G, crashes when I get the keyboard opened, doesn't let me answer phone calls, reboot automatically, crashes when reading media contente or SD card data, etc. cause I'm used to use my phone for almost everything and this Xperia used to fit perfectly to my routine until the update.
View 9 Replies View RelatedWhy android just lost contact with cameras? Camera app just dies, it won't start. I don't have logs, as the device is not rooted. Nor can I take nandroid backups. I'd hate to reinstall and configure everything, so I try to avoid wiping.
Â
I've cleaned cache and data from can app, even removed camera updates, and rebooted several times.
My battery dies when I make calls. Also my battery will randomly drop from 80% to 5% in a few seconds. Its getting to the point where I am unable to use my phone unless it is constently pluged in.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI upgraded my Verizon BB Bold 9650 yesterday to OS6. I had it on charge during the upgrade process so it was fully charged around 10:30 pm last night. This morning it had shut itself off due to low battery. So I charged it again and made sure that WIFI and Bluetooth were switched off. I had it charged to ~50% at 9:30 am today and now, at 12:30, it's dead again.
I used to get at least 2.5 days on one charge with OS5. Now I seem to be getting about 6 hours total with OS6.
