Recently Iphone has invited customers to get their battery replaced who have purchased the iphone 5 between Sept 2012 to Jan 2013. I have purchased my Iphone 5 on Feb 2013, however my battery doesn't hold a day (and quickly goes to 30%->0% in no time). I have checked on the apple page and my Serial number is not suggested to be affected by the fault that the company is admitting. Is it possible that the lot that I have purchased the phone in could also be faulty similar to its predeccars. I am facing the battery issue from almost beginning of this year now. That suggests my phone battery was fine only for an year. I am wondering if this is the average age of Iphone battery or my phone behaved exceptionally bad.Â

This started about a week ago and has gotten so bad that it takes 6-7 hours to recharge from 30% battery life with minimal use while plugged in. There are no apps running from what I can see.Â
View 4 Replies View RelatedI got a new blackberry curve 3g a month ago. Recently the battery has been starting to act up..it dies completely in 6 hours! No bluetooth on(I never use it) I don't have a data plan, so no bbm on or whatever , wifi is barely on ( battery starts to die within the one hour I take it off the charger - about 85 percentt battery life) does this mean the battery must be changed ?

View 6 Replies View RelatedI've only had my tour for about a couple months now. The other night I had left my Tour on my desk like I do every night and locked the phone and left it there uncharging like I always do when going to bed. ( I charge my phone in the morning) Well the other night and today I noticed that the battery is draining really fast. It went from about 80% charge to 15% overnight. I had no programs running and nothing that would drain the battery. Before this happening, my batter would only use about 10-15% just over night, and it seems weird that my phone is starting to almost die on me overnight. Any suggestions on what to do? I dont have any programs running besides the 5 that show up when you hold the home button.

I was using the OS 5 before I update to OS 6. When I used the OS 5, the battery life time can be stand up to 3 days. However after I updated my Blackberry Bold 9700 to version 6.0 Bundle 2534. it completely drain the battery fast and it cant stand for 1 day.
View 3 Replies View RelatedSince updating my E71 to v500, and then to v510 just recently, I have been suffering from terrible battery life when the phone is connected to a WiFi access point. I'm sure it's not a hardware problem, as I noticed it as soon as I first updated to v500. If I leave the E71 connected to WiFi, my battery will be flat in just a couple of hours and the phone is noticeably hot to the touch. I initially thought it may be the battery being a problem, so I bought a new one but still exactly the same.
On another point, the Podcasting application is now terribly slow. I wish I would have never updated from V300, which was fine. I've tried reinstalling the F/W a few times, and not restoring from a backup, but still the same problem. I also read in another thread that someone deleted the Lotus Notes application, and it fixed this problem, but alas, has not done so for me.
I'm from Peru and I bought a Xperia Mini Pro last year. I downloaded ICS a few weeks ago and since then I doesn't have a day when my phone causes problems. It frozes the screen, doesn't catch wi-fi or 3G, crashes when I get the keyboard opened, doesn't let me answer phone calls, reboot automatically, crashes when reading media contente or SD card data, etc. cause I'm used to use my phone for almost everything and this Xperia used to fit perfectly to my routine until the update.
View 9 Replies View RelatedIn the past week, my phone has started dying at 20-30%. When I plug it in to charge, it starts charging at the same charge it died at. Will a restore in iTunes help that, or do I just need to replace the battery or phone? Or, will updating to iOS 5.1.1 help that (I am running at 5.1)?

Is it just me or is anyone having this problem? I've search the communities and couldn't find an answer.
My 4S is running on iOS 5.1.1 and is having a problem with power.
Currently I am plugging my iPhone into a Boostcase to extend its battery life.
The problem is, its not extending its life but the iPhone is reliant on the case.
Without the case the phone dies at 80% more or less.
When tried to turn on, the phone request to be plugged in as it would when the battery dies.
I don't think this is a hardware problem but more system related.
I've tried restoring, reseting and the charge cycle thing.
Nothing works. I have resorted to asking the community.
All replies are appreciated. Thank You.

This just happened recently. I can feel the thing in my pocket heating up. The battery goes from full charge to empty in the matter of a couple hours.
Oddly though, this morning it said I had no service and my phone was normal temp and the battery lasted a long time. Or course i needed services so I turned the phone off and on and the service was back and so was the hot phone.
The phone is over a year old. I've tried all of the trick. Hard Reboot. Reset all of my settings etc.
I have 3GS and it just dies without no warning or nothing. I hope there is on the 4S as it is being delivered tomoz.

My battery used to fail on me at 15% and later on sometimes even at 30+% (After 8+ hours stand-by/usage). But since a few days (also after updating to iOS8) it just dies after 3 hours and sometimes it indicates it has about 70% left. The fact it only gets worse makes me think it's the battery. It's slowly dying.
But updating to iOS8 seems to have made it worse. So it could also be a software problem. Is it worth the try to change to a new battery first before restoring the iphone etc.?When I plug it in to charge it has the same % as when it died.

Ive tries to preserve my after life by turning off most apps, location services, etc. I also stopped the "background app refresh" to preserve my battery a few months ago, but recently my batter life has gotten worse. I used my phone for a total of 56 minutes (since last full charge) and my battery was down to 18%. Crazy!! after every 15 minutes, I would wake my phone and it would be 10% down. I don't think I can do anything at this point, but set up an appointment with the Genius Bar. I've had this phone since Septemberr (less than a year).

I have a blackberry 8520, I have had it for about 2 months now. My blackberry battery gets really hot than within the hour the battery dies. This happens randomly. First time it happened to me I was in a movie theatre and had the phone on silent. The second time it happened I was wearing it on my belt clip and had it on loud. I do not keep any apps running and usually only use the phone for txts and email. My fiancee bought his blackberry curve 8520 the same day and he has the same problem. My blackberry is updated with the latest software. Any one else have this same issue?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI've got a 2g unlocked. Nothing installed but the sinful MMS package (but it did this before I installed it anyways). Maybe once or twice every week or two the battery will drain rather quickly during the day. It'll last from 8am - 6pm off a full nights charge. So once it dies, I'll try to turn it back on but it remains dead. As soon as i plug it in, it turns on as usual but then reads 50% battery. The remaining "50%" then takes about an hour to drain to zero again.
The battery has been calibrated and most days it works perfectly fine (2-3 days per charge)I think I've noticed that this happens on a day where I might use the phone a little more than average, but definitely not enough to make this drastic change.
I even submitted the phone to the service center and they said they have fixed it, but the issue still persists. My phone (Xperia X10, with the latest software) goes dead (not restart but shut down) , intermittently, at different battery levels (but always less than 15%). I mean, once i get the 15% notification for remaining battery level, it becomes unstable and keep shutting down at different battery levels (12%, 10%, 9%, 6% being the most common ones). I have to reboot the phone everytime it dies. There is no trend for the shut down, ie. sometimes the phone shuts repeatedly at different levels as I keep rebooting, sometimes it shuts just once, and on few occasions it never shuts down. I have performed factory data resets, formatted SD card (16gb SDHC, class2) , used different SD cards but every combination ended up in the same behavior.
View 8 Replies View RelatedPerhaps I didn't calibrate my battery meter correctly, but if I drain my battery it dies at 9% most of the time. This happen to anyone else? With lithium ion batteries I'm pretty sure that the battery is pre configured in the OS for the stock battery specifically, so that the meter doesn't need to be calibrated. Anyone have any thoughts?

View 1 Replies View RelatedBattery dischrges rapidly. And yes, I do all the right things for battery life management. It even discharges when the BB is turned off. I replaced the battery already. I think it may have been caused when I upgraded to the new 6 OS. Has this happened to anyone and is there a fix?

View 9 Replies View RelatedI upgraded my Verizon BB Bold 9650 yesterday to OS6. I had it on charge during the upgrade process so it was fully charged around 10:30 pm last night. This morning it had shut itself off due to low battery. So I charged it again and made sure that WIFI and Bluetooth were switched off. I had it charged to ~50% at 9:30 am today and now, at 12:30, it's dead again.
I used to get at least 2.5 days on one charge with OS5. Now I seem to be getting about 6 hours total with OS6.
