Upgraded Sunday to ios 5.1 now extremely poor battery usage. Have tried a few things - nothing seems to make a difference?

I recently purchased a Blackberry Pearl flip 8220 and I noticed that the battery usage was extremely low, I would charge the phone all night into the morning and when I wake up I turn it on for use. Since I noticed it had a problem with battery usage, I pulled out the battery and saw that it was a "generic" battery not from Blackberry CM-2, So I purchased a brand new factory made CM-2 Blackberry battery. The problem is, I still have the same issue, I charge the battery all night into morning and the battery only lasts a few hours at most. I charged it all night last night and already from 11am - 3pm the battery is half-dead and I have hardly used it! I'm trying to find out if anyone knows what could be causing this to happen? Is it common for this phone to use battery life so abundantly
View 4 Replies View RelatedIve had my Desire HD for around 5 months now and from day 1 I've noticed that the wifi reception of the handset is terrible, I literally have to be within 5 metres of my router in order to get a signal, if I move to another room the signal drops to 1 bar pretty much straight away and then once I begin browsing drops completely and reverts to 3g. As I say this has been pretty much from day 1 and since then the handset has been treated with great care so are these phones that bad for signal?

iphone 4s battery draining extremly fast, how annoying is that, Battery will be drain out within 12 hrs and I just usually watch 30 mins video (not using 3G/wifi) and 10mins on Phone . I always turn off my Siri, Auto Detect Time Zone, 50% Brightness, NO background Apps are running and Mail is manually updated.

Ive tries to preserve my after life by turning off most apps, location services, etc. I also stopped the "background app refresh" to preserve my battery a few months ago, but recently my batter life has gotten worse. I used my phone for a total of 56 minutes (since last full charge) and my battery was down to 18%. Crazy!! after every 15 minutes, I would wake my phone and it would be 10% down. I don't think I can do anything at this point, but set up an appointment with the Genius Bar. I've had this phone since Septemberr (less than a year).

My 1 week old iPhone 4 is getting extremely HOT and losing battery charge by 50% in one hour.

This started about a week ago and has gotten so bad that it takes 6-7 hours to recharge from 30% battery life with minimal use while plugged in. There are no apps running from what I can see.Â

Since upgrading to iOS 5.1.1 battery life is very poor.

The upgrade fetched my iPhone 4S very poor battery life. After just 4 hours of normal usage (text, phone and very little email), the remaining battery is only 19%! The previous iOS gave me just a little more. The one that gave me the best battery life was the original iOS 5.0.1. Not sure how to downgrade or if there is a fix for this with the current iOS.
Wifi and location services were also OFF the whole time!

View 2 Replies View RelatedMy Blackberry Torch's battery is draining extremely fast. It is giving a back up of less than 24 hours. Just seven months old. I have checked, nothing is running in background and kept the phone at optimum performance levels.

I've only had my tour for about a couple months now. The other night I had left my Tour on my desk like I do every night and locked the phone and left it there uncharging like I always do when going to bed. ( I charge my phone in the morning) Well the other night and today I noticed that the battery is draining really fast. It went from about 80% charge to 15% overnight. I had no programs running and nothing that would drain the battery. Before this happening, my batter would only use about 10-15% just over night, and it seems weird that my phone is starting to almost die on me overnight. Any suggestions on what to do? I dont have any programs running besides the 5 that show up when you hold the home button.
View 14 Replies View RelatedI have recently started experiencing rapid battery drain on my 9700. If I charge it to 100% and unplug it from the charger when I go to bed, when I wake up its on critical battery (no bars left). During the day it lasts from morning to about 4pm.I first tried a security wipe to get rid of all my apps. No luck.
I then updated my OS to the latest version (.545) and I'm still having the same problem.I have no apps running, apart from the default five. I only get about 10 emails a day and make 1 or 2 calls. So, is it the battery or the phone itself?
I've been experiencing this problem for the past 3 days and went to my provider today to ask about. My phone has been running extremely slow, the hour clock thing is forever running, and as a result my phone dies in about 3 to 4 hours with no real use. I was told it was because i need to update my OS but when I came home and plugged it in it says that my phone is up-to-date and there is no OS upgrade available. i bought a replacement battery to see if that was the problem and it is not. this is becoming quite frustrating. it has even gotten to the point of when i lock the phone i cant unlock it over even get the screen to turn on. the only way to turn it on is to pull the battery out
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have recently upgraded my iPhone4S from iOS 5.0.1 to iOS 5.1. Since then I observerd my battery is draining rapidly when internet connection is active either WiFi/3G. Even the phone is kept idle without using anything, under settings->usage its showing as used (Usage Time & standby time both are increasing) When internet connection (WiFi/3G) is kept off, battery backup is good and settings->usage is showing only the actual iPhone usage only. But with internet battery drains very rapidly almost 20% for an hour or so.

I had done some web browsing, email, but mostly listening to a podcast.
View 6 Replies View RelatedCurious how the battery is for everyone and just trying to see some metrics. Right now I'm at 80% battery with 1 hour 21 minutes of usage and 5 hour 56 minutes of standby.
View 12 Replies View RelatedI installed it last night because it looked interesting. Similar to the MobileMe Find My iPhone but free. Anyways, woke up today (8AM) to go to school. My classes are from 8:30AM-2:15PM. I only have a 1 hour break in which I listened to Slacker radio while I used library computer.
When my last class of the day came around, I saw my battery meter, 8%! It then died 5 minutes later without no use whatsoever except that 1 hour of Slacker Radio and that's all!Nothing was running in the background or anything! So I warn you guys if you install still that it will SEVERELY bring your battery down.
how you would rate my phone's battery performance. My usage stats when my phone was at 1% battery were:
Usage: 7 hours 15 minutes
Standby: 16 hours 33 minutes
-Wifi on for about 3 hours
-1 exchange push email
-Brightness about 40%
-1-2 hours of games
-An hour iPod
-20 minutes 3G talk time
-Texting/Checking twitter
Over the past week or so, I've noticed that my Iphone 4 battery seems to be depleting faster than it had been previously. I've also noticed that my usage time seems quite high, based on my actual usage. To test this a bit, I unplugged my phone at 100% this morning, confirmed that the "time since last full charge" counters were reset, and left my phone untouched for the next 3+ hours. After that time:
Standby: 2hrs, 41 minutes
Usage: 1hr, 13 minutes
Battery: 95%
I do have 3 email accounts configured, with the polling interval at 30 minutes. Push email is disabled. How would I have racked up 73 minutes of usage without touching the phone? I've tried rebooting the phone, but that didn't seem to have much effect...
Just making this thread to see how your battery usage compares to everyone else. From a full charge:
82%
Usage: 1 Hour, 18 Minutes
Standby: 8 Hours, 12 Minutes
Only 3G on
recentley brought an iphone 4s ( 4 days ago) now phone only turns on after leaving it overnight with a reset. battery only holds it charge for 7 hrs from 100% with it in standby mode. phone will not switch on when pressing the on/off button as it should do , only with a reset. what a power hungrey machine this is. oh by the way i turned most things off before i left it for 7 hrs ie wifi, location, bluetooth, etc etc. . have re-installed software last night and still the same thing is occouring with this phone.

Since iOS 5.0.1 I never had. Artery problem. But after recent upgrade to 5.1.1 I found that while using usual apps, including very simple like card game, my iPhone became very, uncomfortable hot near sim slot location. I was tried to reinstall sim card several times - no effect. Battery drain now terrible in active mode, about 1 percent per one or couple of minutes.

Everyone always says that using bluetooth etc can be a major drain on your battery power. I want to know exactly how much of a drain on battery power using bluetooth is. If the iPhone were to be subjected to constant bluetooth data exchange for, lets say, 1 hour, how much of an affect would this have on power.

My iPhone 5 64GB is not working as well as I think it should be. After about 3 hours of usage (according to usage statistics in settings), which is just Facebook and web browsing, and 9 total hours of standby, the battery dies. This is mainly over 4G with medium brightness. Background App Refresh is off, most location services are off, Push emails are off, reduce motion is on. I have tried everything I have found online to try and fix this, but nothing has worked. On top of that, my iPhone was just replaced at an Apple Store, so I'm not really sure what it could be.

I have a problem with my iPhone 4s:Â Usage and Standby are almost the same, they only difference is about 3 minutes. The battery last about 6 hours and half even I don't use it!I restore iOS 7.1.1 already three times and nothing changes. There is only 3 apps installed: whatsapp, twitter and instagram . Location services are off, parallax too, email are set on manual. Sometimes I have no audio, system wide and music app...
