Although my WMV formatted Videos play fine on my home computer, I had no problem transferring them to my Bionic SD Card. Rather than playing, a small blue box opens at the bottom, which says "unable to open this type of file". Confirmed that the pre-installed Player should play MP4 and WMV. I tell them about my error message, and they recommend downloading the VLC Media Player (which works great on all files on my home computer, even on AVI and FLV files). Still won't play, so they refer me to Motorola, but before I call them, I also download, the seemingly popular MoboPlayer and MX Video Player.
The Motorola second level of support tells me to convert them from WMV to WMV, although my experience with Motorola's Tech support is that I sense that due to our mother tongues, it might be my fault for not parsing my words carefully enough. Feel free to contribute your WMV (or MP4 experience) to this thread, as the last advice that the Motorola Level 2 Tech Support gave me was to go to "setting", then "privacy" and then "restore data reset".
I'm trying to import passwords from an XML file. I exported the files and sent them to my Turbo and saved the attachments. Problem is that the app is looking for the file in a certain file.
I'm trying to figure out how to create the file name that the app is looking for.
I have a Nokia 5800 XM. I am not able to receive any file via Bluetooth if that file is not openable by Nokia. ie., if I receive a jpg or mp3 file, it receives fine, and when I open it from Messages, it tries to open it, and then I save it from the Message to the Gallery. But when I try to receive some other type of files which is not supported by the mobile, it receives the message, but it fails to open the bluetooth message and as a result, I am not able to save it to the Mass Memory. It says Un supported files. Say for instance, I am trying to receive a docx (Microsoft Word) file, then I face this problem. Is there any way to save the file directly to any folder in memory without trying to open the received message?Had it been some protected files like .SIS or .SISX then I would agree, but It's bad if I am not able to receive general files.
I am using a Torch: I am not able to able to get specific SMS tone for selected contacts working; have tried assigning on each individual contact in Contacts; have tried assigning on each contact using Tools (Sounds and Ring Tone); have tried assigning SMS tones using group of contacts in Tools (Sound and Tone; Contact Alert); for all these setting the SMS tone still goes back to the common tone assigned for the phone. My ringing tones for contacts work fine for different contacts, but not for SMS using the same method in the manual or as guided by the Tools menu.
Tried opening a pdf file while using Continuum but the pdf apps like Adobe Acrobat and Xodo aren't supported. Maybe I'm missing something...you would think a fundamental file format that has been around for 50 bazillion years would be supported.
My Voyager VX10000 had issues and I got a replacement. In Bitpim I found the MMS folder, which I can backup and transfer all of the files, but they are saved as .PDU Does anyone know of a program that I can use to open the PDU file to see what is in this PIX or FLIX message? I'll just transfer all PDU files from one phone to the other and delete the ones I don't want, but I would like to view them from the PC as well to see what is in them. Does anyone know of a program that will do this AND let me view the picture or video associated with it? I found PDUDecoder, but it doesn't show the pix/flix.
This is probably a n00b question, but is there any way to assign a specific ringtone to a specific contact? I just switched from an LG Lotus, where I was able to give each contact a specific ringtone. I'd love to be able to do that with my Style..
On my HTC EVO I could set notification sounds by application. For text messages I had one tone but none for email. On the Photon I have the same tone setup for text messages coming in through Handcent but it also plays for email coming into the native email client which I do not want. Is there anyway to ether turn it off or select a different ring tone for emails?
Also what is the over/under for Motorola getting tired of hearing "I could do it on my HTC..."
Just last night my blackberry stopped sending texts to one specific number in my phone, it comes up with a message "network out of order". I have swapped my sim, used my sim in another phone, updated my software, swiped my phone completely and reset the host routing table so I don't know what else I can do to rectify the problem?
I can't open or read a PDF file I copied to my curve8250 from my laptop so I emailed it to my phone as an attachment and my phone has a little question mark in the little box in my email header when it arrives and if I try to open it I get then message "This attachment type cannot be viewed on your device". how I can read a PDF on my phone?
How do I open a saved .ipd file that I backed up my Blackberry to? I washed my phone a few days ago and can't get it to start again. I was hoping to at least get some of my planner printed by using this file.
Why is my bb telling me it "cannot open" an xls and a doc file? I can find the files on my media card, but when I try to open them, I get the error message ... I'm using OS 4.5.something, so I'm assuming I have docs to go, but can find no reference to it on my bb anywhere in any menu, and cannot open the files? (I'm on a Sprint 8330, if that makes any diff ...)
I can't open my media file..It's empty but I can see my files only when I connect it to PC. And when I try to open the media card from the file folder gives me this message UNABLE TO DISPLAY FILE/MEDIA CARD.
When I try to open a password-protected powerpoint file, I receive the following error message (translated):"Opening of Office 97-2003 PPT files is not supported by Slideshow to Go."I am using a Blackberry Bold 9900 (Blackbery 7 OS) with Documents to Go version 3.However, I can open password-protected Office 97-2003 Word and Excel files.
