my ring tones do not always work on old iphone 4, they used to.Â
I use ring tones especially for emergencies!
If I cannot hear them, the text or call is missed.
I was advised not to update to 7.1.2 as old iphone4 (IOS 6.1.3) may not handle changes well and I could lose functionality.

I'm using iPhone 5S. I bought 3 ringtones from iTunes and none of them are working as my ringtones. I tried to play them via iTunes Library, but it doesn't work also. The ringtones colored grey and can't be play.

BBought the iPhone 5s last week from the apple shop... Got it all transferred correctly via backup ... Everything worked, photos, messages, ringtones etc .....now the ringtones which I have always used and downloaded, are not working ! They did when I got the phone, but yesterday I connected it to the laptop to make sure iTunes was working with it, which it was ... since then , although my chosen tones for text and ringtones are in the list in 'Tones' and ticked , they don't work ..checked using my husbands phone to ring my phone , just got a tinkling type sound, same with text message tones, not the ones I have ticked either on my phone of my iPad ... Tried all kinds but can't get them to work ... And they all transferred correctly from I tunes on laptop to phone and iPad when I connected and applied ...

View 19 Replies View RelatedIt's actually starting to get annoying. what is happening is the downloaded ringtones that i have had for about 4 phones now are not working correctly, but thats not the weird part. the thing is its only for CALLS, and thats it. Any kind of phone call ringtone (default or contact) is not working after about half a day of being unplugged from the charger, and the only way to correct this is restart the phone. is anyone else having this problem? It also seems it does it to the ringtones that came with the phone, but just phone calls. TXT, facebook

View 2 Replies View RelatedI've been trying (unsuccessfully) for the past 5 hours to resolve a custom ringtone issue with my 9700 and it is driving me crazy!I have custom ringtones set for some of my contacts for calls and messages and they were all working perfectly. Then today, I received a text message from one of my contacts and noticed the tone was the from the default profile. I checked the contact setting and the custom ringtone was the same, but whenever messages from the contacts came in, it was using the default profile. Whenever I get calls from the contact, the custom ringtone works, but all of a sudden it just stopped working for messages. Then I realized this situation is the same for ALL contacts that I had a custom ringtone for. I am completely baffled. I've probably done about 100 battery pulls.
View 4 Replies View RelatedMy Razr got upgraded to ICS this morning. Now I have no ringer. Yes silent mode is off and volume is turned all the way up. If I go to 'system setting', 'sound' and try to change the 'phone ringtone' or 'default notification', the get the message "Activity Android System is not responding". I was able to turn on "Vibrate and ring", so at least I'm getting vibation, but no ringtone.

I have "Ringtones" and "Notification" folders on the root of my SD card. Also when I set ringtones from any music on my phone(ones I bluetoothed, ones downloaded from apps on the market, and also ones I copy and pasted from my computer) they will only work sometimes. Other times they seem to reset themselves and go back to a default ringtones or say unknown ringtone and will not work at all. The only ringtones that work all the time are the ringtones that came on the phone. My friend is having the same problem and the tech at US Cellular said he has had couple people come in with the same problem but they can't seem to find a solution. Also when the ringtones/music player is not working the videos in the "Help Center" on my phone will not work either. There seems to be some kind of glitch. I just want to be sure that there isn't some kind of setting wrong or something before I take this phone back and get something else because I would love to keep this phone, but it's not looking very promising.

i bought the app and i have the app.instructions say to go to devices-my i hone-apps. which i have done. it says to click on a ringtone then select all. this part won't work. left-click does nothing nor does ctrl+a,which it says to use. after i eventually do select them all i will then put in a new folder,etc. i just can't select them all to go to the next step. anyone know how to get this to work?

Now, I have redone all the tones into iTunes but don't seem able to synch them to my phone. I have looked everywhere I can think of to try and get answers with no success.

Previously, I've used Audacity to edit a song in my iTunes library for use as a ringtone. I'd open the .mp3 or whatever file it was, copy out the bit of the wave that I wanted for a ringtone, save the file as a .m4a and then rename that file to a .m4r for importing as a ringtone in iTunes. I've never had an issue with this process until iOS 5.
Since updating, not all of the ringtones I've created sync to my iPhone 4. I've tried recreating several of them and sometimes that works and sometimes it doesn't. of the 43 ringtones I see in my iTunes library, only 26 actually sync. I checked to make sure that iTunes is set to sync all ringtones for my device and tried recreating some of them. I noticed that even ringtones that I didn't create myself are not syncing, as the free ringtone for "Want You Gone" off the Portal 2 OST from Valve will not transfer!

I have an iphone 4S and have been using a purchased ringtone for about 5-6 months but now the phone rings with Marimba ringtone and I can't change it. I've tried re-selecting the purchased one and it is checked in the sound settings but the Marimba still plays (PS- the purchased ones are in itunes and selected). I've tried switching to another apple ringtone but it still rings with Marimba. Tried resetting all settings and synching to no avail.
