The ringtones I have purchased show up in my itunes library on my computer but not on my iphone after repeated syncing. Why am I unable to sync my ringtones although I had assigned them to a contact after purschasing them?
Want custom ringtones on my iphone and i bought a song in itunes to try to customize it but i cant find where to go. also, i tried to download ringtones off myxer said they were made for iphone and to just drag em to ur ringtone folder on itunes and sync, but they are not on my phone after sync any idea?
whenever I convert any file to .m4r through a apple app and try to sync it with my iphone 4s it doesn't get added to the ringtone list. I have tried converting any song to ACC format from itunes however the option is grayed out.
I used to have a complete set of ringtones on my Itunes and on my iPhone 4S. Recently I've upgraded (?) to IOS 5.1.1 and I lost my specific ringtones! they do appear in itunes but when looking at the tone folder on the device, they have an exclamation mark.
Until recently the ringtones I purchased in iTunes sync-ed with my iPhone. Yesterday my iPhone deleted all ringtones that were not factory loaded on the phone and it refuses to download ringtones from my iTunes library. In the synchronisation process I have tried both checking "download all ringtones" and checking the specific ringtone I am after. Neither works. I restored the software on my iPhone. Makes no difference.
I am so tired of Apple screwing up my iPhone either with iOS or iTunes updates. This time I updated iTunes to 10.6.1, synced my iPhone, then I got a call and I notice that the ringtone wasn't the one I had set up as the default. I started checking and all my ringtones and music playlists were gone.

I have converted everything that needs to be converted, and the songs i have chose are in my "Ringtones" section on my iPhone, but when i sync the songs they still do not come up in my phone..? any ideas on what to do
I'm looking for a way to make my own ringtones (pick song, choose section of song I want, etc.) or a site that has a ton of ringtones ready to DL for free. The ringtones section of crackberry is nice but the quality of some of the songs I want is not good.
I have some different ringtones assigned to my closest friends/family so I can identify right away who's calling. I want to assign a ringtone to the rest of the contacts in my book that aren't my close friends/family (which already have their ringtones) and last I want to assign another ringtone to any other call that is not either my friends/family or in my contact book. Is that possible? How?
I wanted to update my software to the latest version so before i did that i made sure i synced/backed up my phone. Then i restored my phone from back up only to find that my contacts have all dissapeared. Why?
All my apps, calender, notes, photos etc have appeared except for my contacts.
i bluetoothed some ringtones from my pc to my dare and it seems that i can't make them be my ringtone because these filed go under the My Music folder instead of the My Ringtones folder. What should i do? I don't have web yet.
I can't seem to get App Sync 3.1 to sync the apps I've gotten from Cydia. I've tried reinstalling it, deleting it and then downloading a fresh copy of it, but no luck either way. And yes, I DID restart after both scenarios. I'm running 3.13 on a 3GS.
Every cellphone i ever had it was simple. Crop the song or sound to a certain length, then to a certain file type ( mp3, wav, etc ) then i could either.
A) bluetooth it to my phone B) send it to my phone via MMS C) email my phone and download the attachment
I would then go into setting and apply as ringtone! Simple! Now i am new to the iphone ( have a 3gs ) and i have done some reading but i am still up in the air on this. I can crop and convert the sound to whatever, that much i can do, but my problem is how in gods name do i apply it as a ring tone?I have a file that i put onto the phone via itunes ( i put it into my playlist called IRING ) now i can play the sound thru the IPOD app, but i see nothing, nowhere about applying it as a ringtone? Nor is the option in settings? I see all the stock ring tones but not the one i made. its 12 seconds in length i have to version of it on my iphone playlist ( .aif and .aac ) either these are the wrong formats? or what gives?
I still have my iPhone 3G. Have had no reason to get a newer iPhone.
I recently tried to get a new ringtone from iTunes and all I get anymore is "Tone not available for this device. A device that can run iOS5.0 or later is required." I get this for ever ringtone now. Even ones that worked just a few months back.
i bought the app and i have the app.instructions say to go to devices-my i hone-apps. which i have done. it says to click on a ringtone then select all. this part won't work. left-click does nothing nor does ctrl+a,which it says to use. after i eventually do select them all i will then put in a new folder, etc. i just can't select them all to go to the next step. anyone know how to get this to work?
I've got a new iPhone for only a few months, and I have no problem making custom ringtones, but sometimes, when i sync them to my iPhone, here comes the problem: "it shows up as a ringtone in iTunes, but it won't sync to the phone. I've restarted my phone several times, hoping that would do it. I've removed all my ringtones, then re-synced them but still nothing."
I searched the forum, Googled this and found that a lot of user have the similar problems but no sound solutions. It took me a long time to finally get this problem fixed before I found an article how to sync iPhone ringtone on mac. I learned that iPhone Ringtones have a lot of limitations like it's up to 30 secs, none of the song fields (song name, artist, composer, etc) have special characters etc, which I didn't know before.Well, if you have the similar problems, I am sure that can help you out.
I just upgraded to a jail broken 1.1.3, and am trying to figure out how I can get my custom ringtones to work. With 1.1.1 and 1.1.2, I just had the ringtones synced on my phone as songs, then used the app SendSong to make them ringtones. That doesn't work anymore in 1.1.3, anyone know how I can get my ringtones back?
If I download ringtones from Cydia or "install" them, where are they on the iPhone? When I select a ringtone are they there with the rest of my ringtones? If I decide I don't like them, is it as simple as "uninstalling" them or do I delete them from iTunes (do they show up in iTunes)?
So, anyone think we just might FINALLY get custom SMS tones? Working at a university where there are iPhones galore and someone gets an SMS and 10 people look at their phones. Something so simple, yet so far away. You all think we will finally get it in 4.0?
I've been trying to add a custom ringtone to my Iphone using win SCP and SSH. I've managed to get into the phone directory but there was no Ringtones folder in the library. I created one and copied an MP3 file over to it, but it is not showing up in the list of ringtones on my Iphone (under settings, sounds). Should I have added the ringtone as a different format or should I be looking somewhere else for the ringtone?
so i had 1.0.2 on my iphone originally. ive upgraded firmware to 1.1.3. I havent done anything since but all i want is customized ringtones and all this extra stuff is confusing me. Ive read all the stickies and i am still lost?
On my jailbroken 1.1.4 iPhone there were several apps to make ringtones such as phonezap and etc, but now none are existent in the jailbroken 2.0 iphone. How could I go about making my own ringtones for the phone (using a PC) or is there a 3rd party application i could download?
Ringtones that I created mysteriously disappear overnight when I'm charging my iPhone. Any idea as to why? It's always ones that I converted from my Verizon phone but I converted them to m4r and they work. Also, why aren't ringtones stored in iTunes? I'm stumped.
