Jun 9, 2012I still have my iPhone 3G. Have had no reason to get a newer iPhone.
I recently tried to get a new ringtone from iTunes and all I get anymore is "Tone not available for this device. A device that can run iOS5.0 or later is required." I get this for ever ringtone now. Even ones that worked just a few months back.
Am I just out of the ringtone list forever now?

Jun 16, 2012i bought the app and i have the app.instructions say to go to devices-my i hone-apps. which i have done. it says to click on a ringtone then select all. this part won't work. left-click does nothing nor does ctrl+a,which it says to use. after i eventually do select them all i will then put in a new folder,etc. i just can't select them all to go to the next step. anyone know how to get this to work?

Mar 22, 2012Previously, I've used Audacity to edit a song in my iTunes library for use as a ringtone. I'd open the .mp3 or whatever file it was, copy out the bit of the wave that I wanted for a ringtone, save the file as a .m4a and then rename that file to a .m4r for importing as a ringtone in iTunes. I've never had an issue with this process until iOS 5.
Since updating, not all of the ringtones I've created sync to my iPhone 4. I've tried recreating several of them and sometimes that works and sometimes it doesn't. of the 43 ringtones I see in my iTunes library, only 26 actually sync. I checked to make sure that iTunes is set to sync all ringtones for my device and tried recreating some of them. I noticed that even ringtones that I didn't create myself are not syncing, as the free ringtone for "Want You Gone" off the Portal 2 OST from Valve will not transfer!

May 30, 2012I have an iphone 4S and have been using a purchased ringtone for about 5-6 months but now the phone rings with Marimba ringtone and I can't change it. I've tried re-selecting the purchased one and it is checked in the sound settings but the Marimba still plays (PS- the purchased ones are in itunes and selected). I've tried switching to another apple ringtone but it still rings with Marimba. Tried resetting all settings and synching to no avail.

Dec 7, 2014I bought ringtones on my iPhone 6 (8.1.1) and they won't play. I went into iTunes, picked the ringtone, it asked if I wanted to assign it to a contact so I did and I thought that was it. The next day I get a call from a number I know has an assigned ringtone and it doesn't play, it plays the default. I'm wondering WTH, so I pulled up the contact and it has the name of the ringtone in the ringtone section, I click edit just to make sure it is showing right ringtone then I click on the ringtone option and it pulls up the list of ringtones but none of the ones I purchased are in there, only the pre-loaded ringtones are there (see attachments) .

IPhone 4s :: Has No Sound Other Than Ringtones
Jun 17, 2014Just this morning I recieved a problem from my iPhone 4s. I was listening to Spotify and pulled up Command Center to pause the song. But before I even touched the pause button, the music just shut off immediately. I tried to play it again and it began to play but without sound. So I decided to restart my device. Although after restarting it, I noticed at my passcode lock there was no sound at all. I tried to use my sound buttons on the side of my iPhone although there were no sound bars. I then muted the iPhone with the mute button and re-muted it. Still no sound. Â
Afterwards I recieved a call and noticed my ringtone still worked. I thought the problem was solved although it turned out otherwise. I looked up some fixes for it, for example cleaning my dock connector although it still did not work. I'm not sure if I didn't clean it well enough or what (The iPhone is still able to be charged).Â

I use ring tones especially for emergencies!
If I cannot hear them, the text or call is missed.
I was advised not to update to 7.1.2 as old iphone4 (IOS 6.1.3) may not handle changes well and I could lose functionality.

Note: I used the exact same method and managed to add a ringtone to my phone a few days ago. But somehow it magically disappeared and now I can't add any ringtones.
