Jul 27, 2010I have this really weird repeating problem that is quite annoying. If I go to spotlight and begin to type, sometimes my iPhone thinks I'm in landscape. I took some screenshots of it. I tried restarting the phone and the problem seems to go away but comes back later. I even tried restoring a few times but the problem still comes back after a while.
How do I make this go away or is this a bug? Is anyone else seeing this or am i the only one?EDIT: Okay so I just did a fresh restore and now the problem is worse. I think I may have angered it. Now the letters are in all weird places.

May 13, 2012When I receive a text message from a friend A, I cannot see, which device this friend texted me from. When I then hit reply, I dont know whether this message will be charged for (sending it to a mobile phone) or free (sending it to an apple ID). This is especially an issue with international texts. Is it possible to have the device shown below the name, they same way it works in "Recent" tab for phone calls? There I can see, whether the person called from their mobile phone, their home phone, via face time.I know, I could just start a new message and pick the receipient manually, or create two separate contacts with a hint in the first name field (e.g. "Apple ID) but that is not as convenient as to just reply to an exiting message.

May 10, 2015Is there any way to save the USB connection type when plugging the phone to the PC? Specifically MTP. I'm on the Verizon variant, unrooted.
Right now, when I plug it in, it comes up with "Connected as installer" and the Verizon Mobile cd drive thing gets mounted. If I wait it out or if I manually go into the phone and swipe down notifications to change the type to Media device (MTP), the phone mounts. Problem is, the next time i plug in the phone again, I have to either wait it out again or select MTP again. Is there a way to save it to the MTP option? First time on a Samsung phone and not sure if it was just like this since the beginning of time or what.

Aug 17, 2010I have a huge problem with my N79, its only about 3 months above a year old. Its been acting up for the last 24 hours. When the phone's on, and i try using the keypad to either to type out a text or to move around the menu, the phone hangs / keypad doesnt work. I dont know whether its the phone hanging or the keypad problem because the screen goes dark, and i cant revive it, but its still on, and i have to restart the phone, but the same thing keeps happening. Mar 25, 2012Is there a way to stop iPhone from creating parentheses, spaces and dashes in phone numbers? I want to create all phone numbers as just a string of numbers with no formatting for each country, just a plus sign (for international calling prefix) at the beginning. It seems that editing out the punctuation in Address Book or or the iPhone has no effect. I've tried reformatting numbers manually in Address Book in my MBP but then, after I sync again, in iPhone they've automatically acquired punctuation and formatting again. I then setup formatting in Address Book prefs to a 'Custom' setting - a plain simple string of numbers with a + sign in front. But it seems to have no effect once the numbers are in the iPhone. I've tried editing those numbers in iPhone. I delete, say, a dash or a space and it automatically adds the dash or space again when I've finished and press "Done" to save it. I've even tried deleting and re-creating (in Address Book) some of the problem contacts as new contacts, hoping my custom-formatting setting in Address Book prefs would stick, but it still turns into formatted numbers in the iPhone. I tried turning off International Assist in iPhone settings but to no avail.

Oct 25, 2011Have a Droid X which will randomly drain its battery in an hour or two due to the com. motorola.blur.service.main consuming 100% of the CPU.I am unable to determine any trigger for this event.On most occasions my only warning of this occurring is that the phone will become very hot due to the CPU load.This event will typically occur every day or every other day.This behavior has occurred with all versions of Gingerbread.It behaved properly on Froyo and Eclair.The first occurrence of this behavior coincided with the original Gingerbread update.Phone is and always has been running a complete stock OS (not rooted).The phone is in perfect condition with no physical damage of any kind.
The process in question and coincidental rapid loss of battery capacity has been verified via SystemPanel.This phone is NOT running any type of automatic/interval task killer, virus scanner, or any other snake-oil type battery improvement software.(SystemPanel is not an automatic task killer, it is simply recording per-process CPU consumption/battery drain at 15 minute intervals).The phone is used almost exclusively for business-related tasks, i.e., as a phone, for email, calendaring, and occasional web browsing.
Nokia :: N73 - Battery Start Working When Tapping Its Side?
Jan 3, 2010I come with an interesting problem regarding my N73. It is a bit long. Here is a bit of back story:
I have(or had) two Nokia N73 one was a North American model and the other from Japan (called Softbank 705NK). About 2 weeks ago, I gave the North American one to my brother because he was without working phone. Last Thursday the battery in that phone took a dump and needed to be replaced. He turned the phone off to go into a meeting and when he went to turn it back on it would not turn on(It had a full charge on it when shut off). Putting it on a charger did not work. I tried charging the phone up with the other Nokia charger I had and it did not work. Then I tested the battery by putting it into the Japan Market N73 and the battery still did not work. I then put the JDM (Japanese Domestic Market) N73’s battery into his phone and the phone turned on. I also checked both chargers on this phone and both worked on his phone with the JDM N73’s battery. I concluded his battery was dead and gave him my battery and promptly ordered a new battery from Nokia for the JDM N73. (I was not using it anyway at that time)
Here is where it gets interesting, on this past Saturday I decided to try the “dead” N73 battery one last time before I tossed it out and I put it in the JDM N73 and it worked and it charged and performed well under heavy use (i.e. picture taking and surfing the web). Today I put it down and it shuts off (with a full battery). I figure I must have pushed the off button on it and turn it back on. All is well until I slide the camera cover open and it shuts off again. I turn it on a third time and tap the left side (the non side button side) absent minded while pondering something and it turns off a third time. So this time I power it up and tap the spot above the IRDA (on the side without side buttons) and sure enough it shut off. I duplicated this a third time with the same results. I then took the battery cover off and discovered the battery does have some side to side play but looks secure. I was able to get it to shut off with a really hard wiggle but it does not seem to break contact under normal duress.
The shutting off when opening the camera lens cover and the tapping of the side of the phone lead me to think it is a lose battery. This phone never gave me an ounce of trouble with the original OEM battery that came with it and likewise the North American N73 never gave me trouble with the battery(until it died). So why did it start now? Would a battery that is on its last legs be more susceptible to vibration/movement? I will be trying it with the new OEM battery arriving from Nokia (should arrive ether Mon or Tues) to see. Should it turn out to be a loose battery, how does one fix it? Would wrapping a strand or two of electrical tape around the sides of the battery to thicken out the battery fix it or will the old paper on top of the battery help?
