Double-tapping To Switch Between Or Clear Running Apps Is Not Working With IPhone 4s
Dec 6, 2014
when I double tap to close out or switch between running functions, it does nothing ever since yesterday. I have the most current update since last week and the home button works for all other purposes so it's not broken. Now my battery is draining because I cannot shut off running apps.
Before 4.0, my girlfriend had double-tap home button set to open camera app. Now, if she double taps home and holds that second tap it will still launch camera vs app switcher. Can someone see if this is stuck to whatever you previously had double tap home set to.
Well I didn't bring this up online until now, but It didn't get resolved inspite of sending the phone to the service center,I'm running the Defy on the Official 2.2 update. When I use the phone to input text in landscape mode I face the following issues -
1. Can't select words by double tapping, implies I'm unable to correct typos which is especially irritating when I'm using skype.
2. When i try to select all the text in the field with the 'long press' the text becomes white but the foreground also remains white (its supposed to turn orange) and i can't see what I've selected.
Texting works perfectly fine in portrait mode. This issue occurs with swype, multitouch and moto-input methods. When I called customer care and said the problem wasn't resolved, I was told that there was no way to correct it. (So have i paid Rs 17,000 for some buggy phone?) Sorely disappointed with Moto's service.
I am on my 3rd Blackberry, currently on the new Bold 9900. It developed this camera fault that seems to be an issue throughout the Blackberry series. Yep the "camera not working because there are to many apps running" problem......except there are no apps running, this is clearly a hardware issue.
I come with an interesting problem regarding my N73. It is a bit long. Here is a bit of back story:
I have(or had) two Nokia N73 one was a North American model and the other from Japan (called Softbank 705NK). About 2 weeks ago, I gave the North American one to my brother because he was without working phone. Last Thursday the battery in that phone took a dump and needed to be replaced. He turned the phone off to go into a meeting and when he went to turn it back on it would not turn on(It had a full charge on it when shut off). Putting it on a charger did not work. I tried charging the phone up with the other Nokia charger I had and it did not work. Then I tested the battery by putting it into the Japan Market N73 and the battery still did not work. I then put the JDM (Japanese Domestic Market) N73’s battery into his phone and the phone turned on. I also checked both chargers on this phone and both worked on his phone with the JDM N73’s battery. I concluded his battery was dead and gave him my battery and promptly ordered a new battery from Nokia for the JDM N73. (I was not using it anyway at that time)
Here is where it gets interesting, on this past Saturday I decided to try the “dead” N73 battery one last time before I tossed it out and I put it in the JDM N73 and it worked and it charged and performed well under heavy use (i.e. picture taking and surfing the web). Today I put it down and it shuts off (with a full battery). I figure I must have pushed the off button on it and turn it back on. All is well until I slide the camera cover open and it shuts off again. I turn it on a third time and tap the left side (the non side button side) absent minded while pondering something and it turns off a third time. So this time I power it up and tap the spot above the IRDA (on the side without side buttons) and sure enough it shut off. I duplicated this a third time with the same results. I then took the battery cover off and discovered the battery does have some side to side play but looks secure. I was able to get it to shut off with a really hard wiggle but it does not seem to break contact under normal duress.
The shutting off when opening the camera lens cover and the tapping of the side of the phone lead me to think it is a lose battery. This phone never gave me an ounce of trouble with the original OEM battery that came with it and likewise the North American N73 never gave me trouble with the battery(until it died). So why did it start now? Would a battery that is on its last legs be more susceptible to vibration/movement? I will be trying it with the new OEM battery arriving from Nokia (should arrive ether Mon or Tues) to see. Should it turn out to be a loose battery, how does one fix it? Would wrapping a strand or two of electrical tape around the sides of the battery to thicken out the battery fix it or will the old paper on top of the battery help?
The iPhone is not scrolling and the buttons and apps must be double tapped. Also there is a voice response each time the phone is tapped. Can;t answer calls since I can't swipe across the screen. I've tried turning it off and can't get to reset since the screens won't scroll. How do I get the phone out of this?
At the time of writing this im a awaiting yet another problem with power to this unit. I was talked into by a sales rep into buying another Xperia after experiencing the exact same problem with the older version as im now experiencing with my current model. I rely heavily on my phone and this is a massive inconvenience to me. The problem running out of power/charger not charging/ not being able to switch back on. Then the problem resolves itself only to happen again... And again... And again. This is not good enough. Funnily enough both models ive had problems with just after the warranty runs out. Leaving me with using my phone insurance not only making my phone insurance more expensive the following year but having to pay an excess charge.
For the Ihone 4s- On lock- double tap used to allow me to take a photo.. now it just bumps up alittle on the screen and does not allow me to. Did i do something wrong?
Iphone 4: Is there a way to turn certain apps off once you exit out of the app instead of double tapping the home screen button every time you open an app to turn it off?
i read somewhere that there's a way that we can get our iPad apps to work on the iPhone as well? someone did that with netflix. i've been trying to do that to Moodboard and Pages but no luck any ideas? also, i use iFile instead of SSH due to paranoia and my home internet is a bit wonky. lol
i updated my iphone 4 to ios 7.1.1 as requested by itunes. now i go in to the appstore and it wont download any app at all. i click on the free button then it asked to put my id password after that the circle loads and it goes back to free.
Is there a way to leave applications open and running with the phone locked? I need to lock the screen while streaming video, with a tv output. I am pretty sure I saw an app for this in cydia a while back, but I can't seem to find it now.
I was told that apps could be "turned off" in the iphone, which saves on battery life and removes the apps from the main screen, placing them in a scrollable line at the bottom.
My home button is very tempermental. Took it into the store and they showed me how to turn off apps running in background and that helped for a while. Now I have to touch it upwards of 20 times to get it to work.
new iPhone 4s (2 units bought at same time) behaves oddly when charging in car with an older Monster Cable adapter.
The charger works very well with iPhone 3GS, however the 4s models appear to drain battery even when attached, albeit more slowly, to the car charger and running an app such as GPS.
Is there a diference between car chargers' power output? Does an iPhone 4s have higher requirements?
Super frustrated with my 4s. I can't sync any new apps from my iTunes account, nor can I delete any apps, or music, from the phone. When I connect it to the laptop, the music syncs but the apps appear to be frozen. Some apps iTunes shows as loaded on the phone but they aren't actually there.
I know its a little thing but is anyone else getting mildly frustrated that, since your apps are all running "frozen" in the background, when you open them up they're in exactly the same state you left them?
Drives me nuts with phone! If I call someone from my contacts, then hang up, the next time I go to make a phone call I have to back out of the last contact I called and go back to the main phone screen.
And Facebook has to be manually updated when you open it now.
I know...little things, but the phone contacts is driving me nuts!
Are there any reliable apps for allowing background running of apps on a 3gs 3.1.3 jailbroken with spirit? I've seen a couple mentioned via google but they seemed to have disasterous concequenses for some.
I've found that doing a "clear all" on apps fixes the lag I've periodically been seeing on my ATT LG4. Is there a way to automatically clear all apps without having to do it manually? Phone works great whenever I "clear all" apps.
Iphone 4S sounds not working. Situation: The phone is not on vibrate. When I press the + sign the bell symbol comes up but there are no bars or cubes underneath it. When receiving a call there is sound. The keyboard sounds do not work and I have made sure that they are one. I have attempted restarting the phone as well as doing a hard reset but nothing seems to work. Running IOS 7.
