View 1 Replies View RelatedMy phone has multiple resets ad the direction of Motorola, and has been in for a circuit board replacement. Now the screen still freezes and the reception is hopeless.I am sure this handset is a lemon. It is still under warranty, 11 months old.
View 1 Replies View Relatedsetting up auto-fetching applies to all email accounts. I swear on my 2.1 Spice XT300, the auto-retrieval was by email address (and also the smallest interval between fetches was 5 minutes, not 15 like on the Defy). I have never used 2.1 on the Defy; mine was original 2.2.1.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI updated to Froyo via Motorola website but it hasn't worked. My phone still shows firmware 2.1.1. Tried to update again via Motorola website but it now tells me that there are no updates for my phone.....I presume that it somehow detects that my phone previously downloaded froyo update.
View 4 Replies View RelatedMy Defy is denied application on the market with no reason that I understand. Some apps are not visible from the phone, and are said "non compatible" from the market website. Sometime the website talks of country restriction while they should not be.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have had my defy now for a few months, and I have been pretty happy with it (babyproof smartphone!)Unfortunately, its becoming more and more unreliable, and am having to reboot it regularly. This weekend is the worst. Here are some of the things it is doing:
all apps keep freezing and crashing (no fancy apps, mostly use it for twitter, facebook etc).phone keeps freezing and being unresponsible on the home screen keep getting an 'emergency calls only' notification, which then clears straight away when i go into notifications.mms photos - both sent and received take up to 5 days to be visible. until then they are just flagged as 'downloading'. I'm pretty sure it shouldn't take 5 days to download a 27kb file. After rebooting, I did have a gmail widget require a forced close immediately. I was never using that widget anyway, and couldn't see it, so I uninstalled it. Now on rebooting I have to force close Google Services Framework. I have decided that looks reasonably important and useful and have declined to uninstall that so far.
I have a my Defy & XT and as of 9:22 am the weather widget hasn't udated and I've turned the phone off and on etc and then I deleted my location and tried to readd it and it said something like.. location information cannot be found (not sure off hand).. I don't know what to do but it won't let me add any loactions but apps from the market work.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI recently installed/ updated the BB Desktop Software and when I plug in my BB Curve 8520, my comp doesn't recognize the device.
Note 1: I've installed all updates on my computer AND the new OS on my phone already. Note 2: My phone recognizes that it's plugged into the computer because begins to charge.
I am brand new to android. I can't get my phone to tether via USB or allow my laptop to work from it as a mobile hot spot. I can see the phone as a mobile hot spot and login but it will not let me access the internet. My laptop tells me that it can't acquire an IP address. Also, when I Use USB it doesnt let me upload the driver to use as a modem.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI installed the drivers from motohelper but when I enable the tethering function on my phone the motorola usb networking driver changes to motorola usb RNDIS device and it shows not working (the motorola usb modem disappears from my device list) . my network notification shows I'm connected but internet explorer doesn't find any pages. my system is dell lattitude d600 running windows xp

View 1 Replies View RelatedWhy can't you tether with your xoom wifi?
View 8 Replies View RelatedI was trying to set up USB tethering on Windows XP because it couldn't connect to the internet for some cryptic reason (I know Windows admin so I tried everything else), but Windows needed a driver for device RNDIS... nothing obvious came up except MotoCast (which wanted to install a bunch of other stuff) so I read the instructions on the phone itself which directed me to Google's Help pages which said to download tetherxp.inf to the machine, which I did. Windows did not recognize it as a driver for RNDIS no matter what I did (I even right-clicked and installed it). It seems Moto links to useless information in this case.
Since MotoCast popped up automatically when I first plugged in (before I ticked on USB Tethering), I figured that might install it but it wants to install the whole thing and make me check an agreement etc... that seems way overboard to just get a USb tethering driver.
Right now I am going to try to find the driver on the internet or just download and install Motorola's USB driver but I have no idea if that's it. This seems way overly complicated (and inaccurate) for something that should be very simple, such as the Razr just being able to install the necessary drivers to use with Windows.
Has anyone had difficulties or successes with Bluetooth tethering their RAZR or MAXX to a Xoom or other Android tablet? I have been unable to get mine to connect with each other. They recognize each other immediately, pair without issue but just won't connect.
If you've been successful in connecting them, how have you made it happen? Any difficulties or tricks you used to get them to connect?
I use to be able to use bluetooth to access the internet over the cell network on the xoom with my old Droid X.I am also able to do this with my wife's Droid 2.On the Bionic I am not able to get it to work.Is this being blocked?I have wifi off on the xoom and Bionic like I have to do with the other phones, but I never get the bluetooth internet connection.I am connect to the Bionic via bluetooth but it never establishes the internet connection.
View 1 Replies View RelatedSince the update, the bluetooth tether connection seems to stagnate after inactivity and will no longer be usable. I have atempted to repair, disconnect, etc. in other words I have tried everything to reconnect after the connection to my phone stops working.

View 2 Replies View RelatedVerizon Wireless now has a really good hotspot tethering plan for 4G phones. For $30/mo you get unlimited 4G tethering on your phone which is a bargain compared to the tablet plans especially considering 4G is 10x the 3G speeds. It makes we want to run out now and get a Samsung Charge so I can drop my 3gB Xoom plan. I'm going to stick with my Xoom data for now and hold out a three or four weeks for the Bionic. Hopefully Verizon won't change this offer before the Bionic comes out.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI purchased the AT&T tethering plan which appears to provide a Wireless Hotspot capability, but my company won't allow individuals to have their own wi-fi networks at work, so I would like to learn how to tether my phone to my laptop so that it does not create a wi-fi network, but only provides Internet access to my laptop. Is this possible with the new Atrix 4G?

View 6 Replies View RelatedI've just about given up trying to update my Defy which I've owned as a sim free unit since Jan 2011. I am running it with a UK o2 pay as you go. Is the 2.2 update coming out?
View 4 Replies View Relatedthat my Defy is downlading data only over 3G though I have the WLAN connected. It starts its download with WLAN, and after 30 seconds, when the screen is off, it starts or continues the download over 3G and is eating my Data Package.
If I keep the Screen ON, from the Display settings, it uses the WLAN, but as soon as the screen is off it uses the 3G.
I cant seem to figure out how to update to 2.2. I have an unlocked Defy in the U.S. with AT&T. When I do system update it sais it is current. If I try to update through motorola it directs me to the t-mobile update. How do I get a stand alone download file to update my Defy to android 2.2?
View 5 Replies View RelatedMy Defy+ only lasts for 2 days, even without actually using it (only standby and 2G network). The screen is always off. This is nowhere near the 384h as advertised. probably need to take it back to the shop but I wanted to ask if it can be fixed easily.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI just have three quick questions I hope you can direct me to links or previous posts on: How do you back up your defy phone completely ahead of upgrading the o.s. software? Where is the information/instructions/download for upgrading from Android 2.1 to 2.2? How do you root the Defy and what exactly does the process do and involve as well as solve? Stability Issues? Crashes? Software glitches and hangs?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a problem with my Motorola Defy. is almost new, and the battery is charging only 84%. On the forum I read that I need to flash new firmware. My version is 4.5.1_128 (UK). Where can I download the official software for my phone to flash by RSD Lite?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI bought a car dock (TrailBlazer Advanced Pro Universal Car Charger and Holder [URL] for my Defy that goes into the cigarette lighter socket and the Defy sits in it and you can connect it to the power.Unfortunately the Defy doesn't charge when connected, and it often says to even unplug it! It makes no difference whether I have it connected or not because it eventually runs out of power and the battery is flat.Is there something I am doing wrong? I am also unsure how I did it but apparently there is a car dock mode for the Defy? I'm being a bit lazy and haven't read the manual on this but how exactly do you put it into car dock mode and will it charge when in this mode?
I am going to try and troubleshoot whether this is an issue with the Defy or Car Dock. I know it can't be the socket because I have a separate small 80w inverter and that will charge the Defy when connected to that with its main plug. Unfortunately I can't use the dock and the small inverter at the same time.I have also tried using both the small tip connector and the usb connector when plugging it into the Trailblazer holder/charger but it makes no difference it still runs out of ju ju. I think there has only been a couple of times out of ten or twenty attempts when I have managed to get it charging from the trailblazer - I'm not sure how I did it but that was after it had run out of juice and I still had no indication that it was charging or anything.
